I think Cred Forums is somehow a sanctuary for the autistic. No physical communication, no eye contact, no hand gestures. All they need to worry about is crafting their words perfectly and making it as if they threw it together like a spoken sentence.
It makes a lot of sense why Cred Forums in general attracts autistic people. Sometimes I get a little 'autistic' when I'm at a weird spot in my life and Cred Forums really helps to express myself and steer back to how normal people communicate.

High functioning autists, aspies, pdd-nos and most other forms of autism on the spectrum function just fine. They just think differently. They sometimes have a little trouble adapting to the world of the neurotypicals, but usually they manage fine. And quite a lot of them excel at certain things. In that sense it's basically a superpower.
