yes the principles that America is founded upon lie in direct opposition to sharia law. Its all about how you define American, but it is also a matter of consistency. If you really actually believe that the Quran is the literal word of God and Muhammad is his messanger, you cannot support the Constitution without resorting to contradictory dualistic double-think.

If being American is just geography or some strange abstraction, then thats all fine and good.

The point is that American values {Constitution/Declaration of Independence) are the opposite of Islamic principles. I mean literally the entire bill of rights is antithetical to Sharia.

My point was that definitions matter, as does consistency.

If you believe in American principles and stick with them, you cannot logically also be muslim. If you accept the premise that the Quran is the un-created literal word of God and that Muhammad is his messanger, AND you are consistent, you cannot support American principles. To do so would be a backslide into Jahiliyyah, and would be Shirk (the worst possible sin in Islam) to believe that man can enforce laws on Earth when Allah gave Muhammad the Sharia.

You can "be" muslim and American, you just need to accept that you cannot then consistently argue why.
