Are there seriously any good martial arts movies out there that don't star Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, or Bruce Lee? I wish I could say Tony Jaa but I think he missed his chance to be in a legitimately really good movie by now.
And I already know about The Raid movies btw. I'll watch them some day but for some reason I don't really care about them.
No wuxia-wire-fu I'm begging you.

Man of Tai Chi was pretty good

Fist of Legend.

Jet Li's Fist of Legend is a pretty good martial arts movie. Good showcase of a lot of different styles of choreography/fighting and also a much more sober view of sino-japanese relations as compared to the more jingoistic movies about the period.

You didn’t like Ong Bak or The Protector?

Kung Fu Hustle

Kwan Tak-hing is badass in The Magnificent Butcher.

>And I already know about The Raid movies btw. I'll watch them some day but for some reason I don't really care about them.
They're still worth it

Jet Li ----- Hero

Your welcome faggot

You forgot Jet Li
Fearless

Ong Bak is okay

>No wuxia-wire-fu I'm begging you.

Riki-Oh Story of Ricky

/thread

Also Jean Claude ---- Bloodsport :)

This

Also Crying Fist

Are there any other movies like Riki-Oh?

watch the seventh curse by the same director

It's got problems, but still lots of fun.

Thanks.
I remember buying a bootleg verion of this on VHS. The tag line said something like "better than The Matrix". I hated it at the time but might rewatch it.

Raid 2 is unironically kino

The Raid Redemption
The Raid 2: Berendal
Merentau
All starring Iko Uwais

100% better than Ip Man movie. Ip Man is really good but these are even better.

Most of Sammo Hung's films are enjoyable if you want quality fight scenes with plots that are weirder/more Chinese than what Jackie Chan did

lmao I didn't see OP mention the Raid movies and I ended up suggesting those exact ones.
OP, you lucky fucker, I wish I could watch these 2 kino movies for the first time again. I went alone to the theater for the Raid 2 movie and there were literally 4 people in the whole cinema. Best movie watching experience of my life.

Boxing is also a martial art. Henceforth, Rocky.

The Street Fighter and The Street Fighter 2 with Sonny Chiba. Pure kino.

ong bak 2 is kino

>What is Jet Li's Romeo Must Die?

Cannibal! The Musical

that shit is fucking ancient

I can't believe SOnny Chiba isn't more well known. He's one of the best martial artists from that era in the 70s

Anything with Scott Adkins is awesome if you're looking for good martial arts

>Not Kiss of the Dragon

This fucking fight made that movie

Duel To The Death

>forgetting Jet Li

Funny fact: the French guy (Cyril) actually had more speed than Li.

Lone Wofl and Cub series is great. The first one, Sword of Vengeance, is beautifully shot.
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin is pretty cheesy, but has a classic apprentice to master story line.

Great film

Ong Bak

He shouldve gone for more roles like these. His look for Kiss was fucking evil.

>holy shit, the guy from Raid is in this
>barely fights
decent movie but wtf was that shit.

Master of the Flying Guillotine is absolutely a must watch for King Fu fans.

Yun Fat Chow has a lot of good shit outta HK

>Lone Wofl and Cub series
ma nigga

A Touch of Zen ain't bad.

the blade 1995

Hero

shaw films you fucking pleb

Call of Heroes

Chocolate (2008)

Those are mostly wuxia, though. And only a handful of them are actually good for the fight choreography.

>"You're a fighter, too..."

Fuck yeah I also like phoenix rising but I accept that chocolate it's a better movie.

Tai Chi II

I went alone to see 2 and was the only one in the theater. It was my favorite theater experience, blew me away

My literal nigger.

>he doesn't rewatch buddha's palm daily

...

Billy Jack

...

bloodsport is pretty good. Too bad the story is a lie.

Come Drink With Me
Master Killer
Wu-Tang Swordsman
Son Of Wu-Tang
Five Deadly Venoms
Return Of The Five Deadly Venoms
North Shaolin Vs. South Shaolin
Shaolin Temple Strikes Back
just off the top of my head

Alot of Jet Li's early stuff was pretty fun, like Black Mask or High Risk

The Raid movies are the best out of all of those trust me and watch it, the first one is atleast mostly fighting if you can't be assed to read the 10 minutes of subs

>The Raid
