Incidentally is there a reason mouse girls are often depicted as intelligent? The closest to breaking this is Brisby who isn't smart by her own admission. But Gadget, Penelope (Sly Cooper), etc. Are often if not smart then mentally mature.

Well that's shit.

Basically she's on a journey to find her boyfriend, she does find him and he's got amnesia that is never explained how he got it and he's never cured. Despite this Freya stays with him even during the ending where she admits that he still doesn't remember her so it's a bitter type of "happy" ending for her.

Additionally this cunt is responsible for leading armies and working for an enemy country that genocides Freya's species. By the end of the game there are only like 10 to 15 of her species tops so they're facing a lack of genetic variety so her species is doomed (but the game doesn't like to focus on this aspect for it's too depressing and ruins the obnxious Disney like Happy Ending).

Also Beatrix who committed genocide against Freya's people is a very unlikable Mary Sue (no matter how much you level up even if you do infinite maximum damage to her of 9999 she will NEVER lose as she auto-wins against you while calling you weak and worthless all 3 times you fight her). Then after realizing that she was wrong about her behavior she is instantly forgiven by the entire cast, seriously bad writing, and even though Beatrix also wanted to murder Steiner (another main character) because of a literal accidental love letter out of nowhere she totally "wuvs" the same man she was more than happy to murder following the orders of her tyrant and evil queen. Yes Freya got a horrible deal in the story and Beatrix who is the source of all the misery gets off scott free. She's videogame Mabel but worse because she can kill with impunity.

Final Fantasy 6 - All Espers are driven into extinction because humans killed them all. Terra only survives because she literally disowns her Esper Half to become a normal human.

Final Fantasy 9 - Freya's species as covered.

Final Fantasy 10 - Ronsos are genocided by Seymour leaving only a few in the sequel.

Square Enix simply likes showcasing genocides and is okay with genocide so long as it only happens to Non-Humans. They would never even dream of doing it to humans.

If Final Fantasy 9 ever gets a remake it needs the option to kill off Beatrix just like how Magus in Chrono Trigger can be killed off by the player for being an asshole.

This deserves to be continued.

what's the show about?

A bunch of mice exist and do things. I watched a couple of episode when I was a wee lad. There was one episode when the MC's mom was telling a story of how she and her (late?) husband met, and I found it interesting (as in, sophisticated storytelling). The rest was nothing special, nothing really worth hunting.

The was the epitome of that ">I'm faster so I'm sure to win" meme.

It's really one of the most egregious instances in the series. She's not a throwaway optional character but a pretty major part of the story after her introduction up until she's not.

Even worse is that there's a bunch of potential character interactions she could be having but doesn't. Freya and Garnet as well as her and Steiner could easily have provided a lot of material.

I've seen Eckhart. I liked it. A few families of mice try to survive in a rural Canadian farm somewhere around the 1940s. Not as dramatic as Redwall, it's more peaceful while still throwing mortal dangers at the main characters. (nobody dies through the course of the series)
