Black Panther film Wakanda power dynamics are bogus

I had some serious issues with the film. Bad CGI aside, why didn't they give the heart shaped herb to everyone to make everyone an awesome black panther fighter? Why just t'challa black panther? All you need to make a black panther is the herb and a mortar and pestle. Why don't all those old people like Forest Whitaker who are tending the herbs just make the super smoothie for themselves when no one is looking and all become black panther's too? Seriously they had a shit ton of herb in that grow-op.

Nothing in the movie said it was only t'challa bloodline that can drink the herb. There's no set of criteria laid out in the film or worthiness quotient established by panther god. What gives?

And what good does BP do for wakanda anyway? Black Panther King job seems to be
1. speak at UN
2. fuck around the world like james bond and kill people he feels like
3. direct spies around the world (that do fuck all? but sit there and wait and eventually become treasonous)
4. play fuck fuck games with his rival lords and fight. And if a rando shows up and happens to win, just give him the keys to the super science kingdom and everyone just rolls over for him and give him a super smoothie, even if he's clearly a psychopath.

All the people in wakanda city seemed to barely notice or be affected by the events of the film, they all just hang out in their single street market set, while like 50-200 people fight in a field to determine who runs the nation?! Do the common people know about the heart-shaped herb or any of this shit? Do they know that all they need to do to get jacked for life on panther steroids is to drink one super smoothie with effects that presumably last for life. They should lock up BP family and take over. I guess they're too distracted by their vibranium iphones or whatever.

Is there anything in the comics that explains this nonsense? I've only ever read black panther when he's guested in other books.

and sorry in advance for long post.

It’s cool. The mods will delete it soon like they’ve done with every BP thread this far. What happens to archiving shit you faggots?

There's about 11 panther threads in the catalog right now. It's barely even Cred Forums, it's not like anybody read black panther comics before this. I say mods are just cutting down spam and should delete more

this.

though this thread could have some legit discussion it's clear most of the "people" who want to discuss the film are shills who are only interested in financial performance.

Tradition.

Also, haven't watched the movie, but it's part of the ritual for becoming the Black Panther. The other part is the judgement of the Panther God. Which means pretty much none would survive.

I'd let this die but fuck you, BP (well, at least Priest) storytimes and discussion has been well received for years.

>Why didnt they give the herb to everyone
Tradition, limited resource, panther god says not to

t. person living in a society where
>they still ritually sexually mutilate their male children at birth
>the richest 1% hold 38% of all privately held wealth while the bottom 90% held 73% of all debt
>the leader is decided not by representational democracy but by a system of electoral colleges that results in only a few places actually having a say which isn't actually legally binding and representatives can legally vote whichever way they want do so regularly
>entire political system is openly bought and paid for by mega corporations
>regularly bombs and invades other countries so these corporations can make money to the extent that a military veteran kills themselves once per hour
>has 22% of the worlds prisoners despite only being 4% of the world population (86% of which are in for victimless crimes)
>a hundred times more likely to get shot by your own police than any other country
and not only does no one do anything about all this but most actually defend it

I know right.

Is it clear in the film how much of his feats are due to the herb, and how much are due to vibration suit? I want to see him due shit with just the herb and no suit, because the suit seemed to be super powerful.

he fought without suit twice, win 1 lose 1

It's been out all weekend, just watch the movie. Or watch Civil War, you see him fight w/o the suit there too.

Of course. What about all that doesn't sound badass?

>why didn't they give the heart shaped herb to everyone to make everyone an awesome black panther fighter? Why just t'challa black panther?

How many times do we have to tell you that only those of royal blood can survive it?

>why didn't they give the heart shaped herb to everyone to make everyone an awesome black panther fighter?

Because then its far more likely some asshole like Killmonger shows up and tries to take over. A royal dynasty restricting power to themselves isnt unusual at all. Also with their Vibranium tech they don't need everyone to be BP tier since they have the best tech in the world, no possible enemy comes close.

>Why don't all those old people like Forest Whitaker who are tending the herbs just make the super smoothie for themselves when no one is looking and all become black panther's too?

Because an old lady suddenly having upraged strength, speed and stamina would be super obvious and immediately alert people they've betrayed the traditions and committed treason. And to get near the herb in the first place I imagine you're rigourisly tested for your loyalty.

But when t'challa fights without the suit in ritual combat, the priest guy gives him anti-heart shaped herb juice to take away the black panther powers (all his veins turn black, it's hard to miss since it happens twice) he never fights WITH bp power also WITHOUT the suit.

The royal blood rule is clearly not canon in the movie. Why then does the queen offer the heart shaped herb to m'baku ape tribal leader.

And also presumably if any one of the other tribes who had the chance to challenge bp in the 1st ritual combat had won, wouldn't they get the chance to drink the heart shaped herb? Is it not poisonous to them too? Not sure this heart shaped herb is poisonous to those without royal blood thing is part of movie canon?

They mention the panther god in the film. But he doesn't appear or play any role in judging bp worthiness. In fact the only actual black panthers that appear are versions of his ancestors and father when he goes to the bp spirit plane.

Don't forget averaging a school shooting once a week since 2013.

Panther god didn't say shit in the movie

No evidence that the heart shaped herb is a significantly limited reassure. There were lots of plants in that underground area and no statement in the film about how the plant could only grow in this one cavern or some such shit.

Only thing that makes sense is power consolidation. Which proves that black panther tribe royalty are dicks and should be overthrown. I mean if they were truly a black power ethnostate, wouldn't they want all their citizens to be superior and awesome. I mean who wouldn't want a liquid super drink that gives you powers for life AND lets youget closure with your dead relatives.

We should arm all teachers with heart shaped herb and vibranium suits. Wouldn't hurt.

>Why then does the queen offer the heart shaped herb to m'baku ape tribal leader.
Because he's of royal blood. They set it up at the start of the movie when he challenged T'Challa.

Saw the film last night. They never said anything about m'baku being related to the black panther tribe. He was just the leader of one of the other 4 tribes so he got to challenge. And the white ape tribe was the most isolationist one at that.

>He was just the leader of one of the other 4 tribes so he got to challenge.
You can't challenge unless you're of royal blood to begin with.

No one ever said that explicitly. It seemed like you just have to be a leader or designated warrior of one of the 5 tribes.

And anyways, that's an argument in support of consolidating power in the ruling class.
