How did this series get soo stupidly popular?

How did this series get soo stupidly popular?

How did this series get soo stupidly popular in Japan is the better question. God, they love the show.

nips have shit taste it. Only reason why moeblob shit #2356 does well over there.

In America, because it was one of the earliest Flash cartoons and in the early 00s, cute things doing non-cute things was popular. In Japan, it's because the characters are cute and make for cute art.

it was the first flash cartoon to look actually good

and for me it was the first animation I ever watch online

G4 and Youtube. That is why.

Japan likes anything cute just look at their loli art spams and underage porn.

They like cute, they like violence

Because it has surprisingly consistent quality. The characters have personalities and character traits that make them highly memorable. Plus, it's genuinely creative.

The "Le epic shock humor xD" joke isn't even that relevent considering a lot of episodes have very low violence.

>a lot of episodes have very low violence
I like HTF but c'mon son, don't lie.

It was true for some of the television episodes, when each short was seven minutes long. Without dialogue, the episodes still managed to carry a plot, and some of them only had a death every 2-3 minutes. Which means only a few deaths per episode.

Of course, some also had 10+ deaths.

Clause For Concern.

For some reason I had the urge to make this.

What do you think?

MTV aired those shorts in Latin America during the early 00s and they caught on.

>the early 00s
Boy, the TV series came out on 2006. And they couldn't have aired the shorts before because they're propery of Mondo Media.

Simpler times when everyone was an edgy little shit named xXxSephorithxXx

Same reason they like south park. Underage boys. But they're boys, so that's OK with Cred Forums.

Well they did. MTVLA and MM likely had a deal.

>there's porn
I shouldn't be surprised... but I am

Do you have any proof? I geniunely don't remember MTV airing HTF shorts during the early years of the 2000s.

I remember watching them in Mexico like 13-14 years ago. They played during commercial breaks.

wasn't it in Russia that the show exploded?

The show was banned in Russia, so no.

I'm gonna be mad is 90% of it isn't Flaky male

Because of edgy preteens who unironically shop at hot topic and think GIR from invader zim is the funniest thing ever conceived. Basically me when I was 11.

UK here and I remember them airing on MTV2 during commercial breaks in like, 2004/2005 back when the channel would still use the early afternoon slots to air reruns of Beavis & Butt-Head, Celebrity Deathmatch and Daria.

They also used to show Weebl and Bob shorts around that time too.

>Cute animals being violently killed

Preteens loves this shit, user

god fucking dammit im so old

im not even depressed, should just kill myself on principle, the human mind did not evolve to live more than a few decades

God Lumpy and Flippy always got the spotlight, it was so annoying

>Flippy
>spotlight
What the fuck? Flippy barely has any appearences. He is the focus on the episodes he appears, which are little.

In the TV series, he only appeared 5 times.

My bad I should've been more specific. When I said Flippy, I meant about more of the fan art and junk. He has a big amount of it compared to the other characters

Oh well, he is definetly one of the most popular characters. Mainly because of his edgy personality, but it's kind of justified when you compare him to other characters.

listen i'm going to need source for both of the porn shit on the bottom left.

Back in 2008, edgy teens like myself craved for cute looking animals getting mutilated in the most painful ways possible.

Looking back at it now, I realize it's just the same shit over and over again. The more I look at it, the staler it gets.

It had a good catch like most edgy shows with it's over the top violence but it never managed to be more than that. It's like if the creators of South Park kept relying on the "They killed Kenny" gag and never grew out of it.

It was the 2000's and the show was edgy as shit.

Fall Out Boy using them for a music video probably helped.

For real. It used to be HTF, Albino Black Sheep, and that guy who did the Lord of the Rings parody.

cute and gore is an actual thing there.
