Continuing on from where we left off: it's episodes 154-168 today.
It's been 35 years since this anime aired, and I don't think Cred Forums has ever really celebrated it. For those who haven't seen it, it was a hugely influential anime, and that influence is still being felt by the anime industry today.
Can I skip the first 20 episodes and not missing something crucial to the whole lore?

>lore It's an episodic comedy series, you're only missing character introductions.
You're only missing important things if you intend to watch Beautiful Dreamer.

I know it is an episodic series. Let me rephrase my question. Are those new characters really that crucial to the whole series, besides Ataru, Lum and Shinobu? Did they work the same way like what we have in Ranma, Inuyasha and Rinne? Maison didn't really has a lot of new characters introduced along the run, unlike the other three series.

Put it this way, if you start the series at episode 70, you're probably just as likely to enjoy the series as you were watching from the start, because it's really easy to adjust. Will you miss character introductions? Yes, but you should grasp the characters quick.
It only really matters for Beautiful Dreamer, the 2nd movie.

I just got a notification from YouTube that Inaba the Dreammaker was added. Are you watching it when the series is over, or next time?
