I don't know. Mob seems to have been very expensive. Nichijou having similar production values was said to not even being close to breaking even with 3k average sales, and Mob was surely more expensive, although with higher mainstream appeal I suppose, maybe the merch is selling well.

As far as what site is good, I used CDJapan. Same price as Japan without domestic shipping fees, no Japanese taxes, and extremely reasonable shipping costs (I wouldn't suggest EMS for any place that charges import taxes). You can try the buyfag guide, but there's not really that many options for buying CDs.

I think it just the same case with opm they still have average budget of 1-cour anime but the passion of animators and staff behind it that make the difference.
