The other characters are great in their own way, except for Ajimi, who is only okay and is mostly worthwhile for her interactions with Hibiki.

How I felt about today's episode.
Good direction and art, some unexpectedly good performance sakuga, long time no M4, the return of the Shiny Academy girls, and Koharu took the literal spotlight.
Roller was the only one of the main 1st years who didn't have any scenes that highlighted her characer though. I feel that she started off strongly when the series began, but has since faded into the background when her rivalry with Yume isn't the focus of the episode.

Mahiru and Ako joining Yume's circle of friends does that. All of a sudden there are more characters fighting for screentime.

No idol anime is going to be able to top Tsukiuta's final 3DCG performance. They pulled an incredible feat despite having 12 boys on stage and each boy was animated in detail with every movement being in-character.
They move as if they were actually alive and towards the end you notice their sweat and signs of tiredness.
Another neat detail is every solo part of the song includes their names and themes in the lyrics.

Today's episode was written by Kakihara Yuuko, the series composition. She's barely done any, so this was a rare chance to see what she really cares about. It felt like everything was balanced really well, with good filling out of all the different and new relationships, even if nothing new or dramatic happened (although Asahi is now interested in Koharu). It was also nice seeing the Shiny Academy girls and Nico and Coco.
Can't deny that it's impressive but this performance made me realize why I find the Tsukiuta CG a little off-putting. Their body movements are a little TOO realistic for my tastes, it's a bit uncanny.

This episode was just amazing, easily the best episode of Stars so far. I'm glad it seems like the main girls hanging out together is now going to be an every episode thing. Also that 2D performance segment was amazing, even if the actually animated parts were brief.
