What is anime for adults?

What is anime for adults?
No, Attack on Titan or Berserk are not anime for adults, they're aimed at teenagers in their edgy phase with all the blood and gore.

C3-bu and Euphonium are prime examples of adult anime, they tackle realistic issues instead of some generic soap drama about misunderstandings.

>What is anime for adults?
A myth that was made up by manchildren to justify their love for cartoons long past the age where it would be socially acceptable.

You can't watch Euphonium and not realize it's a masterfully made work about responsibilities and sexuality.

>What is anime for adults?
Ero anime.

lulz aside, you don't get much gekiga and other actual adult crap animated because most actual jappo adults aren't faggot otaku that buy lewd fanservice BDs.

And dismissing something like Berserk as immature because of gore... really?

>C3-bu
>instead of some generic soap drama about misunderstandings.
Nigger, I loved C3bu despite it gigantic flaws.
It was dramatic misunderstandings teenage soap opera, the anime.

The only thing realistic about it is how an sperg like Yura further screwed herself over because of her poor communication skills. Her team mates, other than Rento, weren't too helpful either.

Berserk has its moments despite its edgy exterior. Definitely agreed, though, Euphonium is a masterpiece.

this

Truly an animu for manly men only.

To Love Ru

Fist of the motherfucking North Star.

The new FLCL seasons are targeting the people who watched the original FLCL, so I guess that's 'technically' targeting a young adult demographic.

>battle shonen
>for adults

pick one

Why is edginess looked down on here?

Attack on Titan is aimed at younger teenagers given it's shonen, but it has a lot of mainstream popularity in Japan with other people. Berserk, as a seinen, is for older teens who are presumably past their edgy phases.

Very little anime is aimed at adults. You know what is though? Soap operas. If anything "generic soap drama" would be a sign that it isn't aimed at kids.

Berserk is entry level as fuck, it's the very first thing the Naruto audience read when they learn of seinen manga. Basically an honorary shonen.

"Edgy" as in things that teenagers think is edgy.

Mushishi?
Monster?
Legend of the Galactic Heroes?

That's what comes to mind for me, though I couldn't tell you why. Maybe less so Monster.

...

non non biyori, no child would watch it because its so slow and "boring"
perfect show after a long day of work

>they tackle realistic issues
playing instruments in a school band is a realistic issue?

fist of the north star is seinen

That only means it isn't even edgy at all, which means it should be all the more enjoyable to men of cultured taste.

Shit like EastEnders?

Is Naruto for adults?

Given that the people who started watching it when it began are now adults, [????????]

Cowboy Bebop is for adults.

Anything with a strong narrative that doesnt underestimate the viewers intelligence.
Shows that focus on interesting well made characters and their interactions.
Comedies apply to anyone to finds them funny.
Death note, shinsekai yori, konosuba, monogatari.

>tackle realistic issues instead of some generic soap drama about misunderstandings
>C3-bu

>Somebody finally acknowledges C3-bu's greatness outside of a C3-bu thread

Even shows for adult can be pretty childish and corny at times, same with adult themselves.

Only children think anything adult =/= good.

A real adult watches everything he wants.
