Lorem has the flu and asks Chiharu to watch Gospel for her. The virus passes to her and her immune system apparently can't fight it. Demonic virus I guess? In desperation, the only plan she can come up with is literally connecting their bodies to let her immune system fight off the virus for her. Wildcard is she has no idea if her system will overwhelm Chiharu and convert her into a demon in the process.

(TL user) I'm curious where this is going after 18. Besides her hair color becoming black. (Which she claims her hair was dyed and Meri's system merely 'cleansed' it back to normal. Albeit a pitch black even darker than normal.)

She points how she doesn't have horns, wings, or a tail, so everything is alright. I'm not too sure about that. Maybe those secondary characteristics are going to slowly manifest themselves in coming chapters. IE: She pricks her finger behind her ear and feels a horn growing or something.

Storywise Chiharu plays an important role in being a human they can interact with. While her slowly becoming a demon might be interesting, her role in the story showing coexistence is possible with humans would be lost. Unless he does that and substitutes introducing Chiharu's family or other human neighbors at that point.

I assume Chi-chan's not out of the woods yet is the discussion. Lorem may be an idiot, but Meri has shown herself to be incredibly smart. She probably realizes, since it was a blood infection and her body was essentially doing dialysis for Chiharu for hours, Chiharu likely still has a lot of demonic blood mixed into her system. (We'll set aside the question of compatible blood types I guess)

Not sure if bait or just stupid. She didn't possibly make her a demon because she was lonely. She was lonely before she became friends with Chiharu. Lorem didn't know kibyou were lethal to humans and invited her over. She was going to die to the virus and presumably there isn't much interactions between humans and demons for any easy cures. The only thing she could think of was to link their systems despite the fear Chiharu would be corrupted in some fashion.

Honestly, none of the series where demons are 100s of years old ever cover what happens for their young. Even something like Disgaea where Laharl and Etna are supposedly like 1200 years old and look 12.

I always assume that they reach maturity in close to the same amount of time as humans, but then just live an inordinate amount of time after that.

One artistic critique I have is, while I like the detail for the teeth, the mouth is too wide a lot of the time. Makes it look like they're talking with gauze in their cheeks. You wouldn't see the outside of all the teeth talking normally.
