I live in one of the 10 most populated cities in America. And you still only found anime in the asian markets and hole-in-the-wall stores.
Blockbuster and Hollywood Video would specifically block anime from being in their stores until it got popular in the late 90s. Because of the negative stigma that all anime was hentai. Once the anime boom began, they couldn't get enough anime in the stores. And I rented pretty much every anime VHS they got and copied it onto my own blank VHS. But before this period in 1997-2000, I had to get all my anime from connections in the asian part of town. Which they got all their anime from LA.

>Before I finished the sentence, which would have resulted in me hitting him across the face with the doll, he grabbed it. In one swift motion his pants were down and he was violently humping it. Not to get between a man and his Mudkips I started to walk away, because there is no way I'd be caught wrestling a half-naked crazy guy humping a Mudkips.
>Needless to say, within 5 to 10 seconds, some girls saw him and started screaming. I cooly walked into a restroom, pretending nothing had ever happened; not that I had intended that outcome, but now that it was in play I didn't want to be involved.
>I came back out two minutes later, and like any wanton act on school grounds there was now a huge crowd around him. He was still fucking it and baying this real fucked up 'EEEEEEEEEEINNNNF EEEEEEEEEEINNNF' sound. Suddenly a scuffle broke out in the middle, meaning he probably did something stupid.
>I asked someone what had happened. A girlfriend of one of the football players tried to get him to stop, but he bit her for trying to take it away. Someone called in a few football players (all dressed up like Road Warrior) who proceeded to pummel the shit out of the guy. Meanwhile the school police were freaking out and having trouble getting in to the situation.

>A few minutes later the intruder alarm went off and we were all shuffled into classrooms. Over the intercom the principal announced that someone had thrown a flaming plush toy into the library. Uh.. what the hell.
>So we were kept there and about 30 minutes later the principal came on again. This time he was saying that whoever was behind the beating should turn themselves in. All of a sudden this woman began yelling, "I WILL SUE YOU FOR DAMAGES. YOU LITTLE PUNKS, I'M GONNA SUE..." and it was cut off.
>I asked an office later what had happened. Apparently his mother had come to pick him up and threatened to sue for the beating and 'whatever else happened.' The school threatened to counter-sue because of lewd conduct, inciting a riot, and starting a fight.

MC loves the feMC. FeMC loves the MC.
The day the two of them decide to confess to each other, they mysteriously find each other's cell phone numbers saved into their phone's contacts list. After some hesitation, a mutual confession occurs after school through phone. Tears of happiness are shed, vows are sworn, and the two decide to meet at the front gates the next day.
But, the next day, MC is rejected by the feMC, who claims she never talked to him before. Strangely enough, the feMC is shown to be going through the same thing, being rejected by MC who treats her like a stranger.
MC and feMC actually inhabit two different universes, and their cell phones are the mediums that connect them. After eventually reaching this conclusion, the two of them make a promise. They will tell each their likes and hates, their daily schedule, everything about themselves, even their deepest secrets, to help each other in their crusade for love. The name of the anime will be Keit-ai!/Cel-love!, in classical punny tradition.

Akira Ōhashi is transported to Daisuru after making a post on an internet forum focused on paranormal phenomena. In this universe, a war between Ghosts and humans has been waging for the past 1,000 years. Akira is attacked by a ghost soon upon entry but is rescued by Googi Boyma, one of the humans who fights against the ghosts.
Humans who fight ghosts are called "slides". In this world, the soul can be understand through quasi-scientific means... when the body begins to die and the soul is "released" from it, it produces a "bathos" or sinking field that pulls the soul toward the underworld. However, cases where the body recovers and re-attaches the soul to itself, the bathos field can be re-activated and used to fight ghosts... hence the name Slide.
Akira was apparently pulled into the parallel Earth of Daisuru by a rougue Slide currently being hunted by Boyma named Reich. This Slides unique power is to pull objects from parallel worlds, but Boyma has never heard of him bringing in a person. The two set out two find Reich and hopefully find a way for Akira to get back home.

>I'm collecting disability for PTSD from the Habbo Raids Is our AIDS still spreading on? I still remember when chanology hit. I watched it happen. It was absolute madness for a month, like if you had rolled the Dublin Uprising and War of Independence into one two-week conflict, and then cut it off like a light switch on the 29th of January and replace it with all the faggotry of the Troubles amplified by a thousand. God it was like a mass exodus, and people were already questioning what they had just done and if Cred Forums had a future after that based on who co-opted the movement. God it was a horrible time to be on Cred Forums and it's never been the same since. Soon after that, YTMND dropped off the planet and Reddit became the primary boogeyman. The Goons took a backseat to control things from the shadows and increase their control over EVE, ponyfaggotry landed not soon after and the rest is all still recent memory.

>New friend sent me a game called "Rapelay" at 32kbs. Over AIM. Let it go all night. Man those were the days...
Anthony Lee
He doesn't like it, but Pepe has become something completely different from what it originally was.
Levi Howard
Sasuga mods.

>There are some spanish groups that still leave nakama when translating the manga
Jace Nelson
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Thomas Sanders
>Regurlarly have to sift through archives and google to figure out whatever the fuck the meme is Cred Forumsnon is using Truly, only my fellow newfags know this pain
I don't know about 7 but 8 would be hated because it's 8. I don't know how 10 would be recieved.
Kevin Howard
I remember love/hating having to download the first episode from different sub groups to see which translation I liked best.
I remember thinking that different colored subs for different characters was the greatest thing ever, and I'd have difficulty understanding who was talking if all the subs were simply white.
Elijah Scott
>I don't know how 10 would be recieved. Memed into oblivion.
Nathan Rodriguez
This place is still kicking, I literally logged into my old account earlier today (odd coincidence). It felt like I was back in the high school computer lab circa 2005.
Brandon Myers
>last update 2004
Nicholas Gonzalez
Not streaming everything.
Xavier Harris
Is Yahoo really still that popular? I thought it was basically dead.
Levi Flores

Justin Clark
They are (almost) dead now tho.

>yfw he got the job at Google because he allowed their scripts and captcha to collect information then proved his loyalty with GG
Justin Sanders
Oh man, good times. I even donated a couple of bucks to be able to download stuff early. These days, I just grab entire OST albums, though.
Ian Jones
>ctrl f >nothing about megumi hayashibara
Aaron Collins
Watching anime on youtube in 360p and episodes split into 3 parts. Bonus points for cut op/ed.
Owen Richardson
She had a role recently.
John Miller
Man, all of that was pretty cringey. The cringe before time.
William Harris
>Someday we'll be looking at Cred Forums the same way we look at stuff like Anime Web Turnpike.
Daniel Thomas
>it's the mid 90s >www.tcp.com/~doi/smoon is the shit for all things sailor moon related (and also a lot of other magical girl shows)
it's actually still undead and just moved domain. the same guy is still running it and updating with whatever shows he's interested in, but the interweb is so much larger now

Why was Hank such asshole
Aaron Sanchez
What classic porn sites did you guys used to go to before boorus?
super saiyan domain(the first time and site I discovered anime porn) aerisdies NV doujins/manga Some all pink doujin site with sakura from cardcaptors, I think it had sakura in the name.
Jason Rivera
I remember recommending someone aerisdies back in the day and feeling like I really trolled him gud.
Charles Howard

Brandon Reed
French weab here, HHH.
Jack Campbell
I will never forget the time i spent downloading openings and endings from my favorite chinese cartoons just to hear a motherfucking faggot mumbling some radom shit.
Brandon White
>not WinMX master race
Jaxon Green
Not that guy, but I can also relate. I'm in a love-hate relationship with Cred Forums in general.
Julian Parker
Except that would only be nostalgic for plebs and retards. There were fansubbed torrents in those days, and if you didn't know how to get them, you certainly don't belong here.
Nicholas Mitchell
I didn't use any sites; some faggot that was in my DC++ list had a solid collection of henta.
Bentley Allen
>-Fansubs for shows taking up to a week Screw that, I was there when shows were fansubbed YEARS after they were aired. And the raws are in the form of bootleg VHS, which you have to find in seedy-looking shops in Chinatown, and you can consider yourself lucky if said raws didn't have some funny chink runes hardsubbed into them.
Nolan Murphy
SaiGAR sucked tho
Nolan Barnes
You must be new here.
Josiah Cruz
There's a difference between getting off the ride and getting thrown of it because you're cucked by a she-jew.
Nathan Adams
Buying downloaded anime DVDs with those huge boxes and a printed cover.
Caleb Bennett
Niconico.com streamings. I remember huge threads about it in here years ago. One year the thread didn't appear and since then I totally forgot about it.
Noah Allen
I fist started getting back into anime when by friend gave me a dvd with about 100 episodes of bleach on it. They were hardsubbed 120p rmvbs that were so badly compressed it was difficult to read the subtitles.
Thomas Rogers
The fact that the Keit-ai copypasta is actually a decent premise.
Jackson Rogers
Threadly reminder that it has been made into a wiki, a fanfic, a fictionpress story, a manga, a meme, an anime preview, an anime episode, and an honest-to-goodness anime movie, so stop talking about it.
Such is the fate of memes, user. Much like food, they are destined to be turned into shit by retarded faggots.
Noah Morris
user, get off the internet, I need to use the phone.
Carson Ward
>Christmas waifu collab almost didn't happen in 2015 >every waifu thread (wednesday, weekend, etc) is being shitposted in harder and nobody seems to remember how to ignore and report >miku monday has been dead for ages >new years threads were a warzone >this years new years will be just as painful >the ever increasing number of people unironically asking why tsundere christmas carol gets stickied >keitai has been run into the fucking ground >naruto threads still happen at all >unironic "how do i date trap/girl" >unironic 3D at all >telling people to lurk is met with anger >telling people to find sauce on their own is met with anger >telling people to uphold any sort of Cred Forums tradition is met with autism Cred Forums was one of the last boards on this site with any sort of grasp on its identity. I'm convinced it was the allowing of "one" naruto thread when it ended that released every floodgate possible. It's like I've been watching the same trainwreck happen in slow motion for years, I can't leave, I can't look away, and any attempt made to fix it is meager and probably worthless. Every other chan is terrible, even the one made specifically as an exodus from here.
Benjamin Kelly
>every waifu thread (wednesday, weekend, etc) is being shitposted in harder I used to post in those threads all the time a few years ago, but I stopped once they started becoming literal blog/whining threads and filling up with tripfags and other personalities who tried to control the narrative of the threads.
>unironically asking why tsundere christmas carol gets stickied Personally, I think it's stupid, but that's just me.
>any attempt made to fix it is meager and probably worthless All you can do is fight the good fight. Draw out faggots and shitposters and put them in their place.
Gabriel Johnson
Speaking of Christmas traditions, how do you feel about Amagami challenge?
Jose Ortiz
Sounds interesting. Do it.
David Mitchell
I remember the first non-4kids anime I watched was commie subs for kodomo no jikan Even then, I appreciated the character colors on the subs
Justin Howard
>Please discontinue distribution of this release if the show gets licensed.
Brayden Bennett
Microsoft Japan created their own character for 7, and the internet would have none of it.
Juan Foster

Logan Wilson
She's actually pretty cute
Camden Perry
>>new years threads were a warzone That was entirely because of Kilim, though. If the DJ is playing random non-Cred Forums shit and taking Skype calls, of course the threads are going to be a warzone, there's nothing board identity can really do to stop that.
