At best it isn't as ugly as their Key stuff or Haruhi, but it doesn't look good like Lucky Star or K-ON.

I mean early 00s anime look pretty damn ugly, but it was one of the few that didn't look gagworthy. But yeah their visuals have improved a lot.

Rubbish, the whole lot. The only decent one of the list, Akira, is hailed for its visual style, not for its animation which is average at best, for a movie of that era.

Akira is literally the worst out of what you listed.

In terms of animation, yes. In general terms, it's the greatest in the list. The rest are unimpressionable at best and completely forgettable at worst.

You've got it all wrong. The only impressive thing about it is the animation and the rest is shit, because it's a mediocre incomplete adaptation.
