>ANN article written by know nothing journalism major feminist tumblrina

Who cares to be honest? The only articles worth reading on that site are Kevin's really if you know very little about how anime is made.

...

>financial success although reviews have been mixed

Where the fuck is she getting this shit from? Mixed reviews where? Are these snippets of posts and tweets translated from Japanese fans or something?

>reviews have been mixed
Loving this meme

Where are these mixed reviews?

That Fujiko spinoff was garbage, looked really nice though. I'm fairly sure it looks like what Berserk wanted to look like with all the shading lines and shit.

>ANN """journalism"""
Kill yourself mate.

Honestly almost every Sayo Yamamoto directs is at best average.

Where do you get your chinese cartoon news from? I assume you arent fluent in chinese. Exactly, you have no clue , so just shut the fuck up.

>3. Rie Matsumoto
ANN is retarded. She is about the only one of worth in the list they created (female directors)

The list just illustrates how talentless females in industry are and poor in comparison to male directors. They even included Meganebu! director and Utsumi for fuck sake.

>t. ANN shill
Struck a nerve eh?

...

Are you serious? Do you even Lupin?

Yamada is better though. Matsumoto hasn't been good since she left Toei and even then Kyousogiga wasn't particularly great either.

Yamada is definitely talented and of worth. Only the top 3 are noteworthy in any sense though.

Kyousougiga was great until they made a TV series.

Fujiko Mine was super fucking good though

Rie Matsumoto is a fucking mess. At best she'd be a good episode director.
Yamada is by far the best on the list.

Wasn't Okada involved in Fujiko Mine?

I think the way Kyousougiga turned out was more than likely Toei's fault. It is clear they never gave a fuck about it and wanted to put as little effort/money as possible into making it into a TV series, 2 of the episodes were god damn live action shit just to fill its slot. All the best bits of animation were shoehorned in from the OVAs and the rest of it was just filler to make a full story out of it. The Toei attitude towards that show was probably why she left afterwards.

Kekkai Sensen was fine in terms of direction, was never going to be great though with such shit for source material. I think the real test will be when she gets an original at Bones or whatever.

Just to add her HeartCatch Precure film was really well made too and that Ladybug 2D series trailer she probably did looked really good.

What's Rie up to these days?

I don't know she completely deleted everything on her twitter a few years back and stopped tweeting. Hopefully working on a new original at Bones, one can hope.

Sakura-Con was actually this year. I'm dumb.

moe

Yeah lupin in general is great, but that spin off felt completely different.

Wait till Choi gets her own series and movie

There is an interview with her here though
heroineproblem.com/tag/rie-matsumoto/
Some interesting bits in there. Funny to see her say they pretty much don't give a fuck what you do with a PreCure show as long as it sells merch.

That would be cool. I wonder when Yuasa will get done making his new film and if it is being made at Science SARU.

1st position is supposed to be Mari Okada though.

Which animes did she direct?

Working on KS 2

Mari Okada is not director, but a script writer. So even for shows stories she wrote herself, she cant be nominated as "best director".

Hopefully not, such a waste.

>Cred Forums cares about ANN rankings/reviews now.

>Anime Director Yamakan Declares Anime Dead
animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2016-10-01/anime-director-yamakan-declares-anime-dead/.107096

I don't think anyone here actually cares about the OP post or ranking. Seems people are just discussing female directors generally now rather than caring about the OP.

>He feels that moe is "becoming Fascist"
Yamakan is such a joke.

Almost all the lupin fags complained about the anime when it came out.
But now they like after some time has passed.

He does so regularly.

He pretty much just seems to pop out of the wood work every so often to pretend he is still relevant and get some attention by saying something dumb and controversial and every time one of his projects fails between him doing it he just seems more and more like a case of sour grapes.

The only thing that saved that Fujiko spinoff was having based Koike as its animator.

Fuck you, it's her best work yet.

Its seems to me people who complain about Kyousogiga TV are adhd fags who coudnt follow the plot at all and unable to appreciate it and only liked OAVs because of flashy moving pictures.

He will kill himself in any day at this rate.
He used to be funny with his delusion but now he's just sad.

I just realized Haruhi molesting Asahina is a metaphor for Yamakan sexually harassing Kyoani female staff.

>Mixed reviews
>98% acceptance rate on exit polls
>4.2/5 on eiga
>4.7/5 on moviewalker
Is ANN talking out of their asses again?

When will he realize that he was irrelevant and people look him because he directed Haruhi 2009? Even as series director, Takemoto did far a great job than him on Disappearance.

>Where the fuck is she getting this shit from?
That one gaijin on twitter who said Japs hated it.

SJWs hate Koe no Katachi because it's an inspiration porn.
Naoko Yamada has done nothing to advocate for gender equality.

>But now they like after some time has passed.
What? They still think its shit especially after how good Jigen Gravestone and Part IV was. I guess the problem was because of Okada and Yamamoto since Jigen and the upcoming Goemon movie were great despite the dark gritty atmosphere

>Kekkai Sensen was shit

When will this meme stop?

An opinion you disagree with is not a meme. The show was garbage in terms of the actual content.

wew

Well anime died every year since the 80's. It's been pretty lively in death so far so we should be fine.

onnanokantoku.wordpress.com/2016/09/28/theres-a-lot-of-women-directing-fall-2016-anime-a-preview/

>The show was garbage in terms of the actual content.
What a well verse and engaging argument

>SJWs hate Koe no Katachi because it's an inspiration porn.
what

I'm not trying to convince you of anything, just stating my opinion, why would I make arguments? If you thinks its good and enjoyed it good for you. In my opinion though it is the worst project Matsumoto has worked on as a director and it never really gelled with her style at all.

Ishihara BTFO

So that's why this season is so shit

So that's why this is the best season of the year.

>In my opinion though it is the worst project Matsumoto has worked on as a director
That would be Yes! Precure 5
>and it never really gelled with her style at all.
Holy fuck you're a jack ass. That Black and White anime original plotline was ripped straight from Kyousou Giga

>That would be Yes! Precure 5
I am talking about as the actual director not an episode director.
>That Black and White anime original plotline was ripped straight from Kyousou Giga
I'm not sure what your point is supposed to be here?

Is Yamakan getting fat?

Yup. Series Composition.

>I am talking about as the actual director not an episode director.
She was an assistant director dumbass
>I'm not sure what your point is supposed to be here?
Point is you don't know what you're talking about.

>She was an assistant director dumbass
Like I said I am talking about shows where she was the actual director.
>Point is you don't know what you're talking about.
I was already aware of the anime original plotline prior to making the point I don't understand why you think that means the show would then make a good fit for her style of direction.

it's fucking moonrunes, can you explain in few words?
and i thought japan didn't have sjws?

.2/5 on eiga
.7/5 on moviewalker

>mattering

Only Yahoo movies is relevant and it has a 4.16 rating on there.

When is Okada going to write for KyoAni?

That's not mixed at all either.

hopefully never

>She was an assistant director dumbass
An assistant episode director.

Her writing style isn't compatible with any director at KyoAni,

4.16 on Yahoo is good user. Also Eiga >>>>>Yahoo. They only take movie goers reviews so online shitposters don't skew the balance.

One of us

when will he grow up?

In comparison Kizu had 3.35 and the upcoming part is trending at 3.0. Now that's mixed reviews.

dailymotion.com/video/x4vm7n6
DAYS ED directed and storyboarded by Utsumi

Utsumi really loves her homos, doesn't she?

She's following her dream.

She's pretty damn lucky, striking gold on her first project.

Utsumi could have been a decent director if she had a better sense in visual.

She was very different from Ishihara, Yamada, and Takemoto in her direction.

>Lupin anime focused on the worst character

what a big mistake that was

I didn't know it was focused on Jigen

I'm glad we're finally done with the "Chiaki Kon is bad" meme.

wheres 3gatsu?

What?

>The list just illustrates how talentless females in industry are and poor in comparison to male directors.
No shit. This is what John Lennon meant when he said woman is the nigger of the world.

>A Woman Named Fujiko

If you actually watched this you'd know it's industrial sludge compared to even K-On moe garbage.

are there even any good female directors besides Yamada and Choi? nothing comes to mind

Yamamoto
Fujita
Nakamura
Hayashi
Takao
Ishizuka

>Yamamoto
Sucks
>Fujita
Didn't know she was female! Promising.
>Nakamura
Shouko Nakamura? Doukyuusei was horrid.
>Hayashi
I'm not sure who this is referring to.
>Takao
I'd have agreed in a heartbeat if Cinderella Girls wasn't so disappointing. What's she been up to these days?
>Ishizuka
You can't be serious.

>>Yamamoto
>Sucks
pleb as fuck

michiko to hatchin is alright, but other than that she's really not good. I think people latch on to her because she qualifies as an auteur, but I'm not sure she's earned her popularity

>Doukyuusei was horrid.
How exactly?

Yamamoto is a good director with a strong visual identity. The writing in her works is up for debate (lol Okada), but that's besides the point.

>Yamamoto is a good director with a strong visual identity.
Michiko to Hatchin had outright bad direction and the best parts of Fujiko were ironically the shit Koike did hence why the new movies are a huge step up in quality.

It was worthless, it plays out like a shitty cliched fanfiction filled to the brim with cheesy anime tropes, bland characters and completely and utterly artificial attempts at both drama and humor. It's so by-the-books it actually felt insulting. Another example of something I believe people see and go "well that looks pretty so it's good." It DOES have a certain appeal in that regard I guess, but it doesn't prevent it from being garbage.

If having a strong visual identity were all it took to create a good director I'd agree with you.

Well she also pushes her textbook feminist ideology in an effective manner (Michiko to Hatchin and Mine Fujiko).

>cheesy anime tropes, bland characters and completely and utterly artificial attempts at both drama and humor
What the fuck does that have to do with the direction then? You realize it's a manga adaption, right?

What do you think a director is?

Under 3k sales confirmed.

Cred Forums Pass user since October 2016.

what the fuck is this??

>he pays to shitpost

Only $1.67 a month brudder :^)
