Wow, this was such a good show for something mentioned so infrequently.
The characters all had a pretty good amount of personality, for an >9 character cast with only 12 episodes to work with. The character designs were also pretty good though, I think a bit more could have been done to distinguish the characters. And it was kinda good that they didn't win in the end. Though I did want them to.
It's such a shame so few anime takes place during the Taisho era, it's easily the best era. But I can't even think of 5 anime that takes place during then. By the way, I don't suppose the light novels are translated anywhere?
