"Free housing. You cannot purchase apartments or houses. The government own all real estate, and give everyone rights to occupy a home, free of cost. There are no homeless people or beggary. Good work performance also give you a better home and many free gifts, and the monetary salary (if it does really exist) is not so important. Cost of living is almost ZERO."
Sure, North Koreans don't get paid that much, but they don't require much pay. They have free housing provided by the government and they get free food rations. The food rations are not fine delicacies, but they are enough to survive on without starving. Besides, look at the problems Americans have from having way to much food. Obesity, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, etc. North Korea is not the horrible shithole for the common worker that so many people make it out to be. They are not as technologically advanced, but their people have basic necessities taken care of for them. Which is something the United States cannot say.
Then pack your bags and get your ticket to your communist Paradise! Win-Win!

Most North Koreans live in rural villages where it's still normal that the entire village pitches in to help build new buildings when needed, just like Europeans during the early Medieval ages.

While there is a kernel of truth to this, most North Koreans live in desperately poor conditions. Even the most privileged classes in the capital regularly experience power outages and food shortages. There are plenty of homeless people in constant search for food and shelter, mainly children, called "kotchebi" which the North Korean government denies even exist. The food situation is often complicated by the fact that the government uses any little scheme or trick it can to give the people less than what the government promises like filling dead pigs up with water and then freezing them so that they'll technically meet the minimum weight requirement for their monthly meat allowance.
North Korea is a fucked up country, it's not nearly as bad as the Western media makes it out to be, but it's still fucked up.

Hi comrade
Food is an excellent example of why capitalism doesnt work If the goal is to make money then you dont make nutritious food. You make addictive sugary fatty food that keeps the customers coming back. If you give them something that is wholesome and good, they are satisfied and dont need more. Secondly the most nutritious foods require little processing.
The very structure of the free market is unhealthy.
Gabriel White
When you advocate this kind of shit it's only proper that you move your ass there yourself and show us how great the country is, and prove such verbatim. Before you start shilling for this shit communism.
OPPSIE I almost forgot to tell you that you are subject to jail and punishment/torture if you dare criticise Kim Jong-Un, that people eat freaking grass to survive (and this has been proven). You are essentially BANNED from taking photos except of carefully prepared locations.
Do I also need to mention the many times the soldiers of north korea has opened fire at their own civilians when they try to flee?
Do you really think that people defect from North Korea and flee the country because they have a great life there? No they do not you dumb fucker, they flee because it's literally hell on earth except for the very top 1% in the goverment. Essentially the SAME which you try to fight against. But even worse.
Oh and that american student may have been a fucking idiot. But 15 years hard labour for trying to steal a sign? Is that your idea of a great society? May I also need to remind you that said student fucking died as a result? For a sign? Really nigga?

Yeah try reading it. She was actually one of the lucky ones who lived a high society life with her doctor husband. When she defected she didn't get to continue living that life in South Korea because she herself had no skills. She left North Korea not because of a bad life but to get better medical care because even though her own medical care was free in North Korea because of her husbands position it wasn't as good as the care in China. So she left for China found out she had to actually pay for her medical care and since she had no money and jobs in China didn't pay enough she went to South Korea. With no skills she could not get a good paying job to be able to afford healthcare. She signed papers renouncing her citizenship and became an asylum seeker. Most asylum seekers from North Korea are not in her situation where they are given such high class benefits.
Her problem lies in the international definition of asylum seeker and what it means when relating to North Korea. Asylum seekers are not the same as migrants or refugees. Asylum seekers are those who have applied for refugee status while residing in a foreign nation but not yet received it. While this would allow them to rescind this request in most situations the same is not true of nations like North and South Korea where they are still technically at war with one another. She is considered an asylee at risk because if she returns she could face heavy consequences from her former nation. Until she has completed her refugee process she can't repatriate. Once she completes the process and is either accepted or denied then either she can request repatriation or she will be sent back anyways based on the denial.
CNN fails to mention this point of law and why it was enacted in the first place.
Luke Rogers
I want to see this post actually come out of North Korea. This, this is just boring.

Some of it.
You can now take photos of multiple locations, including rural areas. They are no longer in a famine, so they don't just eat grass or anything like that.
Some defect, some stay.
It isn't hell on earth for everyone except the 1%, you can read/look at plenty of rural villages that are clearly not in the 1% who live life that would be the equivalent to rural China. Is it as great as capitalist countries? Nowhere near, but I don't consider that to be hell on earth.
It's not a great society by any means, but being a sensationalist will cloud your ability to actually learn about it.
Jayden Baker
^This. I completely and accept the fact that capitalist countries are far more technologically advanced. I am aware that under communist rule the profit motive doesn't exist so there is far less incentive for tech advancement, but capitalist countries fail massively when it comes to providing their people with basic necessities. As a communist I am willing to let go of a lot of modern tech gizmos to ensure that basic needs to met as long as I work. I am also willing to accept much slower technological innovation than capitalist countries.
Andrew Williams
If a person works 40-50 hours a week on minimum wage in America, he or she still cannot afford the basic necessities. Even a single bedroom apartment, food, clothing, and medical care in America is not affordable on minimum wage. For North Koreans it is.

I'm going to need a source on that because I know it is possible because I can definitely afford it so I know it is a possibility and this image says nothing about the study. The US has over 320 million people and is $20 trillion in debt. North Korea is also JUCHE not Communist. The fast food model is entirely about delivering food as cheaply and conveniently as possible. Healthy food is available in abundance and often doesn't cost any more than a value meal. If someone gorges themselves on "addictive sugary fatty food" it's because they aren't willing to cook their own food, nor spend an extra few dollars for a better quality burger.
Fast food is a glaring example of just how efficient capitalism is compared to communism. It demonstrates that an entirely parallel, highly efficient food system can exist simultaneously with a slower, less efficient, higher quality one. Neither precludes the other because they both have a large niche in the market.
Jack Rogers
North Korea takes care of their people unlike evil USA
I've got to warn you though, unauthorized photos smuggled out of North Korea show thin, malnourished children, grocery stores with bare shelves, with produce that is clearly spoiled and unappetizing to look at (to say the least) Adults who have managed to escape are often suffering from illnesses associated with Mal-nourishment, riddled with various parasites, and showing signs of growth deficiency. This is not speculation, it is a fact, documented with photos, videos, statements from defectors, statements from those who managed to get a look at the real North Korea. And, by the way, it's not shocking, this is a country that is not only under the thumb of a dictatorship, not only suffering from the absolute stupidity of Communist leadership, but it is also isolated, and isolated because of the idiocy of their leadership.
So, with that being said, enjoy North Korea user.

"Led by the United States, the international community is crippling North Korea’s economy. In August and September, the United Nations Security Council passed resolutions banning exports of coal, iron, lead, seafood and textiles and limiting the import of crude oil and refined petroleum products. The United States, Japan and South Korea have each imposed bilateral sanctions on Pyongyang to further isolate the country.
We are trying to inflict pain on the North Korean regime to stop the development of nuclear weapons and missiles. That’s understandable. But in the process, we are also punishing the most vulnerable citizens and shackling the ability of humanitarian agencies to deliver aid to them."
Wew, I guess we should reinstate slavery to give niggers their free housing back. Our bad.

North Korea is getting better because little Kim is moving the market more towards capitalism. He fully intends to make his country China 2.0. Communism always fails.
Julian Flores
In the US, you can! Regardless of what our closeted socialist politicians and media members say, there is tremendous upward mobility in the United States, even under our flawed crony capitalist system. People move in and out of the 1% all the time, and the majority of people who grow up poor will move into the lower-middle, middle, or sometimes even upper middle-class or better. That's how it is supposed to be under capitalism, if you strive for greatness and try to carve out your own place within the economy, you can, so long as your are willing to work hard. The special college snowflakes won't tell you that, but you can achieve things.
I find that this is better than everyone running around being equally poor.
Robert Walker
How are people supposed to cook their own healthy meals in America when they have to work 3 minimum wage jobs 60+ hours a week to barely pay the bills. This isn't counting regular house and hygiene chores also. Lets see you work that many hours and still manage to cook healthy meals and exercise.

You do realize that NK's economy is suffering a lot right now due to sanctions that the USA and our allies placed on them. This. Communism is never sustainable, there are zero examples to show that it can even in small and ethnically homogenized fucking countries where it should be easier to run this system. Cuba failed, Venezuela failed, China was smart enough to admit it was failing and opened up their economy, which led to great success, Soviet Union collapsed, and so on and so forth.
