Jewish Democrat Sheriff (((Scott Israel))) headed the department that saw 39 visits to the home of Nikolas Cruz over a period of several years for disturbances ranging from violent outburts to self-harm and threats of violence. Under Florida law, he should have been involuntarily committed for psychiatric evaluation at the very least, but over and over and over again local law enforcement did nothing.
Then Israel goes on national television and says that more gun laws are needed. Not that his department should have Baker-acted Cruz's crazy ass, not that they should have followed proper procedure--that Americans shouldn't have guns.

Sheriff Scott Israel of Broward County oversaw a department that had multiple visits to the home of alleged shooter Nikolas Cruz, and there were more than enough reasons to have him submitted for involuntary psychiatric assessment. Yet over a period of several years nothing was done. This was a tragedy that could have very well been prevented just by following standard law enforcement procedures.
Scott Israel claims he will conduct an internal investigation, but an independent investigation is needed to determine how and why this was allowed to happen.
