The cast is weak and almost none of the character are likable except Goro. The MC acts like a dog for 02, and 02 isn't the most likable character either. I know we haven't gotten a backstory but from what we have been given so far she has no sympathy from me. Especially since she refuses to communicate like regular human being. I also dont see the need for the subplot of Ichigo and Goro being jealous. That should have been moved to the side characters so they actually have some substance to them. I don't find any of the sex allusions to be funny and the setting itself hasn't piqued my interest. I'm still watching it but overall it has just been such a damn big disappointment. I have similar complaints over VEG but on a lower level.
In contrast Yuru Camp and Sora both have cast where the relationships feel much more genuine and real.

The date and the way it comes about is super contrived and exists only for melodrama purposes. And if we're going by length or consequences, Megu's outburst gets resolved even quicker than half an episode. It wasn't obvious she was crying out for attention because she was deliberately hiding it. Kimari was telling her about everything every step of the way, and nobody expects to be stabbed in the back by their friends. Although it does happen.

I don't think they overreact to stuff. Look at episode 3, after Yuzuki has her dream and gets rejected by her friends and she's bawling her eyes out because she feels like she finally found people who accepted her. There's not a big sappy speech or group hug or anything, the other three are confused as hell and start blaming Kimari.

I don't really know if it counts as melodrama but I actually really liked the scenes with Kimaris friend because people in my social circle do that all the time. It's not too rare to even see outbursts too.

I agree with that guy, the handful of people watching the show really gush over it, calling it AOTS and heaping loads of praise on the art and direction. Actually watching the show I can't see what they're on about. It's just another sparkles and bubbles show with stock characters and a substanceless romance.

I don't know about Cred Forums, but on other sites, it's politically motivated. Series created by or oriented towards women are getting more and more praise heaped on them as people try to look virtuous. Animegate soon.

I'm surprised how forgettable devilman turned out to be. It's been what, a month, and yet i can hardly think of things it did right despite giving it an 8 at first.

People are dropping like crazy because of its slow pace. The resident VEG shitposter keeps reminding us how much r-ddit is losing interest in the show.

Binge watching makes things more forgettable than normal.

Not the case for me, it's just that devilman is severely overrated

ReLife had threads the entire season it aired.

The manga art was the only thing that made Devilman good, and Crybaby wasn't faithful to it.
