There's absolutely nothing wrong with one earth peace promotions. It was the whole point, it's quite beautifully done. Religion and god is just an ever-convenient shorthand.
If you want technical aspect, there's plenty of it, good 1/3 of the movie. And it's also beautifully done, that's what I loved when I watched it the first time, how both original and similar everything is. Sadamato should've gotten an award for designing all this stuff.
