Who's best girl among the new entries? Rayfa, Bonny, Betty, Armie or Kisegawa?

>Ryuu ga waga teki wo kurau
what did he mean by this?

PARKER

GET ME PICTURES

PICTURES OF THE BUNNY

i need to stop coming into these threads im almost done with the last case fuck

Seriously bro. You really don't want to be spoiled by the huge twist.

I vote for Rayfa.

I'M HAVING A REAL FUCKING HARD TIME LETTING IT GO PROSECUTOR SHAMALA DING DONG

Bonny is the best girl of entire Ace Attorney.

Tsun-tsun Rayfa
Armie is a very close second

You saw it coming user. Just let it go again and move on again

Armie. Her design is literally perfect in all conceivable formats.

Rayfa is a close 2nd but is made up of too much bitch for me to adore. By the end of 6-3 I was openly grinning ear to ear at how much righteous BTFO she was eating.

I felt sadder for her during 6-5 and her bitch was cut back significantly which is the only reason she isn't lower tier atm

Does anyone have a link to the CIA for the DLC?

All of the girls in AA6 are pretty great. It's hard to choose

>Betty will never shoulder tackle you
It hurts.

>play a porn where one of the characters moves the same way as that bounce
>cannot not be reminded of that porn

fug

Just don't click on the spoilers.

ALRIGHT

Her face looks retarded.

Let's broaden the question.
Who's the best girl in the series?

Let go and move on courier

Ya know I'd totally be behind something like the DC act if they applied it to Magicians

Fuck this guy, that stupid catchphrase reminded me of fucking Frozen every time he said it. He even has the braid tail like Elsa.

My magic is the real deal.

It employs neither tricks or gimmicks.

>Not stuffing every single gold bar into Elijah's corpse
>Not carrying Elijah's corpse like a massive weight-free money bag all the way to the exit

Letting go is for peasants

It was so satisfying proving her wrong on so many levels during 6-1 and 6-3.

Then 6-5 happened, her entire worldview is shattered, she starts to doubt her role, she realizes how her insights have been used in trying to get innocent people killed, her adopted parents are corrupt scumbags, etc

I want to adopt Rayfa.

Edgeworth > Blackquill > Godot > Debeste > Barnham > Manfred > Darklaw > Franziska > Nahyuta > Gaspen > Winston > Klavier > Layton

Will she ever come back?

Kek, no. Get over it.

Can you repeat the question?

Question: Why is there no full walkthrough in english of this game on Youtube yet?

If there is, please someone point me to the right direction.

CASE 6-5 SPOILERS

Where does Ga'ran place?

People actually ship this?

for this kinda game it's a lot easier to just use a spoilerless walkthrough that tells you what to present and when

if your intent is to experience the game without getting it, I dunno

Never ever again.

Never

Iris was nice and cute and all, but there's a lot of baggage there from the shit Dahlia pulled. Phoenix is better off leaving that alone

I BET YOU ONLY STARTED THE SECOND TRIAL AND YOU THINK THE GAME IS ALMOST OVER
GET YOUR ASS READY BECAUSE THE RIDE IS JUST GETTING STARTED.
NOW GET OUT BEFORE YOU GET SPOILED FOR REAL.

(´-`).。oO(I want to fuck Rayfa)

Not lower than Manfred (possibly equal), not higher than Blackquill

Why can't they constantly keep making great chars as Blackquill? But it's always 1 or 2 per game.

Which animes does Blackquill watch?

So do you guys think this game was a move towards AA7, or AJ2?

Samurai's n shit
Pink Princess

Also reminder that Apollo collects manga

Kodomo no Jikan and Mitsudomoe. Ever wonder why he was in jail?

>So do you guys think this game was a move towards AA7, or AJ2?

>Implying this game wasn't already AJ2

AA7. They will never not make a game again that doesn't have the name "Phoenix Wright" in it.

I realize I'm about to get eviscerated for asking this but AA threads seem the best chance to ask

What did you guys think of Turnabout Storm?

She's so cute... and so fucking smug all the time...

He's too pure for that. Athena can't even get him to give her the D.

AJ2
Rayfa is the assistant
Datz is Butz
Ema is the detective
1st case is about how Datz's girlfriend is killed and he is accused

Let it go and move on.

>All those lawyers sexualizing my wife's sister's daughter.
If I see your faces again I will have you executed.

Unless she takes the initiative

Why did he like Rayfa so much? Was he really just planning a coup because he knew Ga'ran was not legit and that Rayfa deserved it?

woah, what's this?

who would you call not good in this game?

Inga did nothing wrong.

Killed Dhurke
YES HE DID

Meduka Meguka
One punch man

Also he goes to Steel Samurai concerts with Edgey.

Present her his notebook

Looks like a blowjob, but what do I know

pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=58896749

Dhurke was a believed terrorist. Anyone who wasn't a rebel scumbag would have done the same.

Or do you believe Ga'ran would have honestly shared SHE was the bitch behind the assassination attempt 23 years ago with anyone?

Oh, not bad, not bad at all, user!

Why hasn't Blackquill washed his face or cut his hair yet?

It makes him look anime, which is his intention

Kidnapping is kind of a crime user

Prison changes a man.

I think that those are like permanent dark circles. Also isn't his hair a samurai thing?

POST YFW TWO VICTIMS

God bless you, user.

...

>The last logic puzzle where you figure out how to dethrone Ga'ran at fucking gunpoint

The last leg of 6-5 was amazing. One of the finest moments in the series.

Amara's rotating Buddha hands were hypnotic as fuck.

He keeps his weeb persona.

pretty sure you move just as slow as being overencumbered if you carry a dead body

>Be you priest, saint, queen, or even god.
>You just look like another suspect to me.

Taking down the whole guard with a point of his fingers

He was fucking metal is what he was.

Who would you rather have defending you Cred Forums? Phoenix or Apollo

Beat DD and SoJ recently. How good is DGS in comparison? Or is it more apples and oranges?

>We found a body that's several days old

Does anyone else feel that Edgeworth's love of the Steel Samurai is a bit too explicit in this one?

>case 5
>first cross examination already fucking me up
For some reason it's always one stupid thing I can't get in each case but everything else in the case is easy

I asked this question in the last thread and the user said it wasn't really that great. But everyone has different opinions on each game, so take that as you will.

Why do the Japs hate 6-3 again?

Does spirit of justice feel complete? Because it was really obvious the SeaWorld case was cut for dlc in aa5.

Japs have no class.

Apollo fucking went balls to the wall during that last trial. It was glorious

Apollo since he has never lost a case. Feenie has lost three.

The DLC is 20 min, that's all you need to know.

...

Japs have shit taste. They fucking think Oldbag is a better character than most developed characters in AA

Yes, it doesn't need the DLC case, it feels complete. But considering the length of 6-4, the DLC case is very welcomed.

Obviously he's talking about Turnabout Through Time.

His horns and red suit. I just can't get over it.

>those faces

top kek

Weren't there some JP people salty about Maya getting cucked out of her assistant role by Rayfa in Case 3?

There really is no point to taking the gold, almost nobody has enough caps to buy them and you should be swimming in caps by the time you even do Dead Money, anyway

Rayfa was a top tier assistant.

Doesn't count, Apollo has never had to defend an actual guilty person.

DINDU

NUFFIN

Blackquill was eternal elder god tier assistant.

I'm pretty sure the only people who hate SoJ are retarded shipperfags because they didn't get muh Phoenix x Maya

Maya wasn't guilty

Zac Gramarye wasn't guilty

6-4 feels very out of place.
My guess is that it was originally planned as DLC but ended up in the game functioning as a filler case between the two big ones.
That would also explain why 6-5 is bascially two cases in one.
I'm not complaining though, everyone likes free DLC.

6-4 felt like a tutorial case that got too big so they ended up making it filler instead

STATE YOUR NAME AND RANK SOLDIER

Two of those, Phoenix was being blackmailed into defending the guilty party.

Anonymous. Professional NEET, sir!

PRIVATE PEPE, SIR!

It's filler, but it's great to have Sad Monk lose to all of the Wright Anything lawyers. Plus it's nice to have more Blackquill

>you'll never have a qt disabled gf
Just end me already.

the disabled part isn't even the hardest

>Be me
>Get stuck of Sarge's testimony

He probably was asking about AA6 specifically

in this localization that could actually be a khura'inese name

Everyone can agree this is the best moment in the game and one of the best moments in the series, right? What are some other best moments in the series that have this kind of hype?

Can we confess some unpopular opinions?

I really like Nahyuta a lot because of how mich of an unrelenting asshole he is to the defense. Reminds me a lot of Byakuya Togami in that even when he's "friendly" he's still a massive prick.

I think Athena works much better as an MC than an assistant because her nervous inner monologue reminds me a lot of AA1 Nick. She's a nice contrast to the other two.

Patches is best Uendo.

>mfw

>laughed at Sarge for being a shut in
>then they revealed that Sarge was a shut in due to that fire

Felt pretty bad for laughing.

>Shih-na laughing

I figured Sarge was at most a teenager after she said he mother lept out a window and protected Sarge with her body.

Is Dhurke one of the best dads in gaming?

>Engarde's reveal

>I think Athena works much better as an MC than an assistant because her nervous inner monologue reminds me a lot of AA1 Nick. She's a nice contrast to the other two.
I actually agree with this. I didn't like her much in DD but with the whole rookie attorney thing it seems that they've finally found a direction for her character. She also gets the best assistant/mentor/courtroom shitposter ever so I look forward to see more of her as a protagonist.

I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but on the other hand, I've always found Apollo very boring in his inner monologues, sometimes he really sounds like a generic VN protagonist and his remarks aren't as funny as Phoenix's.

Oh yeah that last one was based on her part.

Sums up my opinions on both of them nicely

>I think Athena works much better as an MC than an assistant because her nervous inner monologue reminds me a lot of AA1 Nick. She's a nice contrast to the other two.

this is a pretty popular opinion

He wasn't a very good father for Rayfa, though.

I wish the game had done something to play up Inga being a good dad. He's a complete fucking asshole but the way Rayfa talks about him make it sound like he was good to her at least.

You might be asking yourself: How is that possible? Maya couldn't have channeled Mia if she wasn't even dead.
But see, that's the twist! Maya was in on everything. When Mia and Maya found Phoenix' body, they had a brilliant idea.
Mia actually had a twin sister, Nia, who worked together with her in her office. They would switch places every day so no one would notice.
Mia and Maya plotted to kill Nia and channel her whenever Mia-as-Phoenix needed help in court.

...

I loved it and I never even watched the show.[

It made me want to watch it./spoiler].

I want a Tsar Bomba pillow.

Does the Plumed Punisher theme crack anyone else up? It's such a perfectly crappy ripoff.

What cracks me up is that briefly when it was first uploaded and people didn't understand the context, they were livid at it being a shit track.

Young Dhurke looks like a character from Tekken Chinmi.

He's referring to Matt Engarde from 2-4

>edgeworth's opinion
literally the best line

That spoiler fail, God help.

I loved having him on the defense's side.

>calling Nahyuta "Sad Monk"
>fucking slicing his attack beads in half
>using his manipulation tricks on everyone

It wasn't a great case, but he helped it a lot.

Nah, nobody loves Apollo.

>being a elitist, purist dickwad like Edgy and not enjoying all toku like Maya does

Isn't he one of the top 3 most favorite characters in Japan?

I used to have that opinion.too

Then this fucking game happened

>nobody loves Apollo
This is false

Okay champ

Is Godot the most overrated character in the franchise?

>he put Maya and Pearl in danger and caused the death of Maya and Mia's mother just due to his pride and because he wanted revenge on Dahlia
>he let his rage take control of him and killed Misty himself

I have that feel, that the guy with Athena could somehow save almost any case. They really should use him more.

Maybe develop the idea with the Phantom, since it wasn't really finished. He still worked for someone and we don't really know anything about his organization

>having no standards
Maya truly is the worst

I just finished it and now I'm really sad.

I really grew to like the Chords of Steel, but it was probably for the best in the end ;_;

Apollo's been pretty good outside of his own game.

I don't think so. Where did you see it?

I fucking hate Godot

>don't get to see Apollo being strip-searched

shit game/10

That was a great, but depressing final case.

I'm just kind of sad now after finishing it

But user that's gay

I want to wedding Athena

Plot shit has nothing to do with how fun a character is

Godot bullshitting his way through court is thoroughly entertaining

A recent Japanese poll was posted here a few days ago, top five was Phoenix, Apollo, Edgeworth, Maya and Trucy.

Athena did

Is they the best witness ever?

He was just sad in DD.

>No Athena
good.

I thought Dual Destinies had a much better pursuit theme
youtube.com/watch?v=7pBWGp7vDKI

Proof?
Even if that's true, that's just because of the stuff the pulled out in SoJ, the feels will cool in a few months.

Not to mention that his arc is pretty much over.

You say so, like if that something bad.

Take that, I saw it in a previous thread

Godot is fucking based.

Weren't they going to announce something new this TGS?

They showed a trailer

SoJ ost is already underrated
youtube.com/watch?v=Hd_VBRY9zOU

So, is the DLC good?

The top three has been Phoenix, Apollo and Edgeworth since right after the release of DD.

A trailer for what?

All SoJ tracks suck except for Athena's theme and ... (Realizing the Truth)

Wow, is that even real? Ok, a confirmation that the japs have shit taste.

Wtf IS that shit?!

Would you take down capitalism with Sarge?

C-capcom of America will take the chance to announce DGS localization after DGS2 is announced tonight, r-right?

Finished it last night. That last case was a doozy.

The thing I was most surprised by (other than, you know) was the references to past games. DD kinda felt like it was scared to do that, so it was really nice to see stuff like Phoenix's flashblack to the class trial and the gravy-stained scroll, even if they were small things. I wonder if the Thalassa scene at the end means they wanna go further with it.

I was kinda sad Apollo stayed behind because I started really liking his dynamic with Athena in this one.

I want Armie to show up in a later game in full Soviet Military Uniform.

I honestly laughed out loud the second they reused that old ass classroom trial CG, lmao it's like 15 years old now lmao.
Same with the Steel Samurai one

Read more carefully what the lyrics of the song are. You'll notice there is no single face that represents the third line. What you need to do is TURN YOUR THINKING AROUND

Dat Cake Ema

Rayfa's still a good 8/10 on my scale, its just the other 3 are even better. At a push I might put her up one tier.

there's one half-turn involved

The realization/reveal hit me way harder than any other moment in this series. It almost had me in tears.

Did anyone think that Inga was actually part of the rebellion the entire time? With the safe and all it seemed plausible at the time. And then he shot Dhurke.

A turn is a turn, you can't say its only half

Can I just say I'm surprised by how many people ITT are using spoiler tags to avoid spoilers? Good job Ace Anons: Spirits of Courtesy

We almost got it

>I wonder if the Thalassa scene at the end means they wanna go further with it.

I have little doubt the next game will focus on Trucy, Thalassa and the story behind the Gramayre power. 6-2 did a nice job foreshadowing Trucy's future character arc, and the post credits bit solidified it.

They probably wrote Apollo out of the story so they could focus on Trucy instead. Otherwise it'd just be reactions to all the twists in stereo.

Also, Trucy will be 18 by the next game, and probably wants to decide her future.

Imagine Phoenix going through a character arc where he has to let go of Trucy, cripes.

A turn is a turn, you can't say it's only a half.

Fuck you user

Inga is a red herring
Dhurke is the final boss

Shut the fuck up Diego """""""""""""""""""""""""Godot""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Armando

LOL

that was the first time in the series where I came to the same realization as the main character at the same time.

it fucking blew my mind

>mfw no face
It will be a while before I can let go and move on

I always love that.

I can't get over how all the prosecutors worked so perfectly into the roles.

You can't really count that one, the justice system in there was bullshit

You can't really fault Nick for this either, he had been duped into submitting forged evidence

How did they manage to make a character so likeable in a short amount of time. Felt like I got hit by a truck. This game has so many moments when you and the character realize the big twist at the same time

>Military Uniform
>Wheelchair designed like a tank
they should have combined these two, honestly.

Already linked several times this thread, but: youtube.com/watch?v=d7jv1ticnf0

Best moment. Was bawling as soon as I figured out what I had presented.

NAHYUTA KILLS DHURKE

Doesn't he technically lose his first trial in K'hurain, despite having it be corrected by the end?

>Figure out what the mysterious blood implies
>pause for several moments due to reluctance to present it as evidence

>people really think Apollo won't be back

They've just decided to split the team up a bit to give everyone a bit of breathing space, probably to give Athena a chance to grow, and wring another game using the features in Khura'in.

Pretty sure Apollo said he was going to come back once Khura'in got back up on their feet. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a year timeskip or whatever.

I can't really see Apollo leaving Trucy behind once he learns that they're related either.

Or maybe I'm in denial because I don't think the series would be the same if Apollo isn't with the WAA crew anymore. ;_;

I actually considered Dhurke being dead at one point, but thought it was too crazy. Should have known better.

I felt so bad for Apollo

Its exactly what they did in the trilogy. Maya keeps leaving, but returns as the next game begins. Worst case scenario is the sequel gives him just one case in Kura'in.

I never stopped to consider this. It was a character that we knew for a very short time. VERY short. Yet a huge impact was left behind. Now this is good writing.

...

>There will never be a AAI:Blackquill

>still not fully sure of the twist in 6-3 until the BRAIN BLAST
>didn't see the army loli coming
>legitimately got duped into thinking amara was the real killer
>didn't immediately put together that dhurke was dead

Either I got really stupid or they did a good job writing this one.

6-4 is still trash though.

>>legitimately got duped into thinking amara was the real killer
I was spoiled for the killer there but somehow the game STILL managed to convince me otherwise. They did that well.

>legitimately got duped into thinking amara was the real killer
I know right
I thought that with those animations, those animals, and that fucking ANGER LIGHTNING GLARE, there was no fucking way she wasn't the final boss

No, it was well done. I've played all the games in the genre as well and there were still some great twists here. Still tons of stuff that was obvious thanks to playing so much, but a surprising amount that caught me off-guard.

Dhurke....I hope you're watching

I really appreciate that the spirit channeling was used to it's fullest potential here. There was a bit in 2-2 and 3-5, but nothing like multiple people running around as the same person in succession.. Also a cross examination on the victim. Was really cool.

Logic Chess > Psyche Locks > Perceive = Divination Seance >>>>> Mood Matrix

If anything I'm most ashamed of not realizing the suicide, especially when it was so obvious that the motherfucker ran straight into a blade while flailing around

I even put together that he was either falling downward or killing himself for some dumbass reason as soon as I saw the first-person animation of it, but I just couldn't be sure until the brain blast, and even then the motive was way better than I thought

I still think case 2 was the best because of youtube.com/watch?v=gk7Rfl4rpHo

>Still tons of stuff that was obvious thanks to playing so much
I think that's one of the biggest challenges these days, just thinking of anything that people wouldn't expect or be able to guess based on past experiences and expectations.

mfw the end credits have Phoenix talking with Thalassa Gramarye

I didn't start crying but my eyes got watery at the realization and it got worse when they actually showed his corpse.

Case 2's twists were so ridiculously obvious though, I'm not sure why everyone is so amazed.
You'd have to be retarded to not realize who the real killer is by the end of the investigation part

Of course I knew who the real killer was right away

That doesn't mean the execution was any less good - it was fucking outstanding

I'm actually kinda disappointed, that scene definitely should have switched places with Apollo's post credits scene.
It just feels a fuckton more impactful as a post-post credits scene than what we ended up getting

It's stuff like this that makes me consider putting it up there with Farewell, My Turnabout, maybe even above it. I've never been invested in a case this much in a long time.

I think Seances were pretty cool, the biggest problem being you have the write the murder around them. We'll never get back to having 7 Psyche Locks in a case though ;_;

For all the shit it gets, this is why I rate DR2 so highly. DR2-5 is fucking incredible, and is not something AA would ever do.

Alright guys, I'm going to do it. I've played the trilogy, Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, Prof. Layton vs PW, and now Spirit of Justice.

I'm going to get started on Investigations 1 and 2. What am I in for?

True, but at least it means Apollo's story is far from over. I never thought I'd see the day when I was looking forward to more of him rather than Phoenix.

>that music track

Fuck yeah. Best music track in the game.

The best fucking defence attorney in I-4

Is Danganronpa still worth getting into even if you know that Junko is literally behind every fucking thing, even after the first game?

Man, this game has some god tier designs. Just look at that - not overdesigned, but just the right amount of detail and pretty. Armie is another one of those.

Case 2 was really solid and fun overall, but what really sold it for me is how fucking good the culprit breakdown is. Definitely one of my favorites in the series.

What matters isn't the result but the process

>AAI
Sorta mediocre but still alright I guess
>AAI2
One of the best god damn games in the series, and the best overarching plot by far.

FUCKING TIGER IN THE COURTROOM

>DUDE THE WITNESS TRANSFORMS WHEN THEY'RE PRESSURED LMAO

Anyone else kinda tired of this? I like smaller stuff like Bobbly Fulbright adopting a frown for the first time. My favorite in this game was Mr. Reus because all he does is adopt a new pose, but it says so much non-verbally.

Case 5 spoilers
this close up tho

Best moment in the game

It was Maya's hair but combed back
FUCK

D-Dhurke ;_;

ultimecia.jpg

Yes, although admittedly that's probably the best moment in the first game. Not that it matters though, because the second game blows it out of the water in basically every possible way. If you love AA because of the actual murder mysteries, the first game will not impress, but the second game definitely is up to snuff.

Yup, took me until way later to realize that

I admit I kept expecting Retinz was going to turn out to be some greedy but misguided idiot and that one of the twins would end up being the true culprit.

I was completely floored finding out he was the real Reus all along.

GOD FUCKING DAMN IT

He already had that hair when you see him for a brief moment at the end of 6-3, don't you?

What about when Amara was channeling him? Why wasn't it white?

What about when Amara was channeling him, though?

>The entire court starts talking about Rayfa being flat, not having the same "balloons" as her mother (Amara is stacked too), and possibly going through a future growth spurt

Damn that's hot. Didn't think they'd go there.

>Balloon-chan
>making fun of Rayfa's perflatness
>tits being a pivotal piece of evidence in the final case
What did they mean by this

L'Belle hair color

NAYNA IS CUTE

It's a shame I forgot to get this cap without the spoileriffic text

DOUBLE GOD FUCKING DAMN IT

Oh fuck, that was actually in Inga's office too

WHAT THE FUCK

>You find L'Belle hair color in Inga's room
>Colored black

I... I need to sit down

OH SHIT. You find that in Inga's room, right? I guess it must have been pretty convenient for Amara that both Inga and Dhurke had black hair.

...

Didn't he go out of fucking business last game? I don't get how that product still exists

I loved her animations wish she was around in that form longer

Who else suspected Nayna would be important as early as Case 3? It reminded me too much of Shih-na.

...

...

Didn't you fucking idiots add 2 and 2 when investigating Inga's room?

I should have but I guess it went over my head.

I thought it was just another reference.

I suspected she would probably play a role in the last case but not as big of a fucking role as being Amara.

Yeah, I fully expected her to be the culprit or something. Yamazaki double animations all have secrets

I was pretty sure that she would be the queen who didn't actually die from early on, considering her apparent unimportance.

I thought it was just a cameo dude, I didn't sit down and write the cases so I didn't think of it

FUCK

I just thought it was a callback to DD

I'm pissed I didn't realize it until just now

Okay what the fuck

I thought it was just a fun reference to DD, and at that point you're nowhere near to figuring all that shit out, come on now

Nigga it never even fully occurred to me before this game that hair was unaffected by channelling, even though we see Mia's change, and it was an important plot point in 3-5.

For a brief moment I contemplated that she was Amara in disguise because her age in the Court Record was "?" but I didn't humor the thought again until she went missing.

...

Anyone else expected the final boss to be Kee'ra or the Holy Mother herself, channelled?

I guess they're gonna let Rayfa channel her when she's able to.

>Game ends
>Nobody ever channeled the holy mother

Age of ? tends to be a joke for very old people, like Delicia or Oldbag, so I just assumed it was that

Yeah, I was surprised at that. They specifically got her face revealed, but did... nothing with that.

Holy Shit! Capcom writing staff actually filled all the plot holes this time!

See:

I get that, but I expected it to be something that actually happened in-game. Unless it's for the sequel, but that's kind of a momentum killer.

This is almost exactly what happened to me
In 6-3 most of my predictions were off, so I stopped trying to come up with the big reveals and went with the flow
I was expecting shota instead of loli in a wheelchair
I predicted all the big reveals in the last section of 6-5 by the end of the Day 2 investigation, but I never would have expected that Dhurke was dead

>Apollo is in Foreignland now
>eventually we'll go back there
>more godawful pun names

This is gonna be painful

Reus is one of my favorite villains. The presentation to his reveal was fucking great

Ha Ha Ha. There's nothing up my sleeve. I don't NEED to hide anything up there...because I require no tricks or gimmicks. For you see...my magic is the real deal.

Then the fucker rolls up his sleeve and does his signature pose that was in the poster

That was such a great reveal

They literally only revealed it so that Ga'ran could be defeated, due to having all the requirements of channeling the holy mother but still being unable to do so.

I think I'm nearing the end of the third case but one thing I'm not understanding is why did Maya channel the high priest and not the acolyte?

Post stuff you got wrong

I thought Geiru's wound would be revealed to be under her clown nose, in a shittier version of the Godot's mask reveal

A few things from Case 5

When Amara showed those flashes of rage, I actually was expecting her to be more evil than her sister. I am glad with how it turned out however

I guess technically now, Apollo is royalty. Wonder how many Kura'inese women are after his horn?

I kinda hate when they bring up the characters' pasts and their parents. It leaves me with more questions. Like where has Athena's father been, especially during the murder of her mother? Is it required by law to have a fucked up past before you can have a career in the legal department?

Nobody could get the acolyte's real name because he was an illegal immigrant

Because the acolyte didn't see anything, he was just praying as far as the court knew

I thought the exact same fucking thing, it would have been great.

All of them

You know at this point we still have no clue about Phoenix's parents? All we know is he, Larry and Edgeworth are childhood friends, and his first time in a courtroom was with Mia defending him.

Thought the same thing as soon as they showed the character. Turned out we were right but in the wrong place.

This is way after, everybody already agreed he was in the hideout and long after they found his real name

I thought Zeh'lot got skewered by the war'baad statue because someone was forcing it to rotate via the door mechanism. Guess I was half right but still

Why does Athena's father need to be a mystery?

He could have just been a man who had a falling out with his wife and fucked off to who knows where. I mean we have never heard of where PHOENIX'S parents are but I doubt there's a big mystery there.

But they did get it, which is how they did the Seance.
The correct answer is "plot", because It would be too fucking easy for him to just tell you that the wife was the killer

I was fully expecting a channeling to occur but instead we got a seance. It would have probably diminished the impact of the last case though.

When all the backstory behind Apollo started building up in 6-5 I thought Apollo was going to get killed off because the title of the game is "Spirit of Justice" and then he would have to be channeled or seanced

They're probably dead. No parents allowed in PW.

I liked that this was the Ace Attorney game with the most cast shifts

Case 1 defense: Phoenix
Case 2 defense: Apollo/Athena
Case 3 defense: Phoenix/Maya
Case 4 defense: Athena/
Simon
Case 5 defense: Apollo/Phoenix

Do we have a webm of this yet? I need it. For reasons.

She also reminded me Shin-na when I first saw her but I really thought that she was just another joke character.

I thought the amnesiac rebel guy was going to be Larry Butz when I first saw him

I don't really know why people were expecting a channelling. Regardless, doing his Seance reminded me a lot of Ghost Trick.

hahahahahaha what the fuck

Having him be all proud of Apollo would have been nice tho

He was originally going to college for art or writing, right? That's about it.

Yeah, they needed to have one final seance to justify it's existence. I thought it was done pretty well.as assistant

I was surprised we didn't at least get an after credits scene of him being channeled

Da hell man? It's your second time best time spoiler. it's [ s p o i l e r] in the first one.

I thought Amara would be the final boss forever. Actually slightly disappointed she wasn't, Ga'ran was kind of obvious considering her getup.

I expected Beh'leeb to be the real killer forever but of Tahrust, too.

I expected the 6-5.1 case to be resolved without getting a murderer. I guess that was just a dumb hope.

Watching that Seance was some depressing shit

I legit feel bad for Apollo. Why did they give him a fucked up backstory

I agree, but I'd also say the same thing about Apollo's father. And they made sure to touch up on that base.

What a hunk

I thought he was going to be Gumshoe

Or you know, just ctrl + s

Just press ctrl and s together, user

There was also a ton of investigation assistants. Trucy, Rayfa, Ema (kinda), Edgeworth. Solid shit.

you're forgetting quite a few

Case 3: Phoenix/Rayfa, Phoenix/Datz
Case 5: Apollo/Dhurke, Apollo/Rayfa, Apollo/Athena, Phoenix/Edgeworth

Just finished Spirit of Justice.

1st case was ok.
2nd case was passable, but the Gramarye thing felt a bit gratuitous and not terribly well handled.
3rd case started off weak (ANOTHER case where you have to defend one of your friends) but towards the end it improved quite a bit.
4th case felt like it was another "first case". No connection with the rest of the game whatsoever, and Athena still has to be babysit at every fucking step of the trial.
5th case is FUCKING LONG. A good case: understandable motivations, pretty good villain, a nice set of moral and juridical conundrums, and finally they stopped denying that Apollo Justice ever existed.

Cons:
- Nahyuta was another "gimmick" prosecutor. He spends most of the time acting like a presumptuous weirdo that calls you weird elaborate names and pushes you to "let go and move on", but he never feels really threatening or clever. He just stays there insulting you, and occasionally when things go badly for you he goes "I totes planned this all along".
- Dhurke is a terrible character. He's phenomenally one-note, there's nothing interesting or clever about him whatsoever but everything revolves around him and he's constantly the center of attention. The whole "HURR DRAGON" thing was just the worst.
- Athena, as I already said, still needs all of the crutches in the world. LET HER HAVE A REAL CASE BY HERSELF OR CAN HER.
- There's something about the final case that felt weak. I think it might be that instead of letting the characters go through their emotional states they constantly snap back to "I HAVE TO BE STRONG FOR THE SAKE OF JUSTICE" and erase all built up pathos. Dhurke didn't help in this regard, since he's basically the source of all JUSTICE in the world.

I thought one of Amara's animals would be a lion, and that would overturn the war'baad's cry part of the seance

Around 6-3, my prediction for the final case was thatDhurke would turn himself in and let Phoenix represent him to get to the bottom of the murder of Queen Amara and it would reveal that Amara killed by Kee'ra/the Holy Mother as she was channeling them.

>- Dhurke is a terrible character. He's phenomenally one-note, there's nothing interesting or clever about him whatsoever but everything revolves around him and he's constantly the center of attention. The whole "HURR DRAGON" thing was just the worst.

get out

> Larry becoming a Khurainese Zealot after finding out the truth behind Elise Deauxim and Ami Fey
> Or alternatively going to Khurain as a way to meet women
> Getting there and being framed for murder realizing the country's court system is shit
> Dhurke and the revolutionaries strike a soft spot in his heart and remind him of his childhood friends Nick and Edgey back home
> Becomes a rebel and gets fit
> Comes out of nowhere and has to be bailed out by Nick and Maya yet again
> Datz's wacky antics would match up with Larry's demeanor

Holy shit that would have been perfect

>Dhurke is a terrible character. He's phenomenally one-note, there's nothing interesting or clever about him whatsoever but everything revolves around him and he's constantly the center of attention. The whole "HURR DRAGON" thing was just the worst.

I want Rayfa to be an assistant in AA7 or AAI3

Kind of like the shadowy super-evil organization behind Phantom.

So overall you didn't like it?

At one point right as I was coming to that realization I even thought that
he had died in the fire that killed Jove Justice, and Amara had posed as him all along.

this is canon in my head

Best ship in aa.
But Apollo+Trucy and Trucy+Pearl are also fine.

>4th case felt like it was another "first case". No connection with the rest of the game whatsoever
That's not a bad thing. Every game has a case like that. Brings us good shit like Mask de Masque.

I correctly thought that Tahrust was a suicide but not the motive, and figured Beh'leeb was the killer.

I figured Reus in case 2 was actually behind everything but didn't expect all that shit behind it. Magicians are fucking assholes after all.

Amara being alive and in cahoots with the queen. She technically was but only forced to.

Tokyo Ghoul and Yuru Yuri

>I recognize that bounce

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

I did like it. My criticism is maybe a bit harsh, but I think it's much better than Dual Destinies. In many things it's also better than Apollo Justice, but I still rank the moment in AJ when Apollo realizes that Phoenix gave him false evidence, and Phoenix replies that he shouldn't have relied so blindly on him if he had wanted to stay clean higher.

...

Rondo Duo?

I knew it wouldn't have made 0 sense, but I somewhat expected to see Dhurke's final moments, thereby confirming that Juve was just a front.

I know it's ridiculous.

I don't disagree on principle, but the thing is that it wasn't that great on top of being completely disconnected.

What an emotional rollercoaster that final case was. Fucking hell. Turnabout Revolution is there at the top of my lists.

There are a couple of reasons.

Channeling played a bigger part during this case than seances.
It was brought up several times that channeling required a face and a name, the same goes for seances but it was mentioned less in comparison.
It was mentioned that someone who was channeled retained its memories as if no time had passed, channeling someone that died 23 years ago would have fit very well.
Apollo talking with his father would have been a very strong moment, but it would have diminished Dhurke's death.

Either option would have served the purpose but channeling seemed to fit better.

>genuinely enjoying one-dimensional pure stereotypes
>reaction pictures
Grow up and acquire some fucking standards you underage weebs.

>Kristoph only lost because Phoenix fabricated evidence AND came up with the juror BS

No wonder he flipped the fuck out in his breakdown. I'd have been bitter too.

user, listen.

There have been so many stories written at this point with such large variance in characters that it's okay for some of them to be more simplistic in how they're viewed.

Not every character needs to have 5 unique facets to them, all of which come out in turn. Dhurke was a good character simply because he was a cool dude with good intentions and he did what he had to do to ensure his goals were met, including everyone being happy.

It's not one-dimensional to write a character that seems more simplistic than they actually are. If anything, it's impressive that you've managed to completely misinterpret the character.

YFW *unzips glove, flings toward camera*

A DRAGON NEVER YIELDS

How is Apollo royalty?

How is the game for a Mayafag? Any good fanservice like Nick shipping or similar?

Has anyone looked for any good Miiverse stuff?

He's the adopted son of Dhurke, who married Amara, and had two children, Nahyuta and later Rayfa. Now that Rayfa is queen, that makes Nahyuta and Apollos princes

>shipping
HAH

"A DRAGON NEVER YIELDS

Except for the part where you totally yielded like a little bitch for five years

Well it was the Spirit of Justice that solved the final case. Just the spirit of his father instead.

...

>Nick x Maya
lol user, that's a funny joke.

The problem isn't that he's simple. The problem is that there's no deviance from the stereotype.

When you have a father rescuing his drowning sons and all he can come up with is "OF COURSE I SAVED YOU THAT'S WHAT FATHERS DO" then you aren't writing a character. You are taking a stamp, inking it and pressing it on some paper where you were supposed to write something.

They simply couldn't have made LESS of an effort. Gumshoe is a simpleminded and not terribly complex character, and even HE has more of a character than Dhurke.

that was just him being a good bigger bro. The fact he didn't take Dhurke's badge means he still hoped that Ga'ran could be takend down someday.

Didn't think adopted would count towards being actually royalty, especially when the adoptive father isn't royal by blood, but by marriage.

He had to protect his little sister's smile

You do realise that Dick literally appears in more cases than Phoenix in the series?

Literally zero, Maya barely has a role. There's more Apollo Trucy shipping than NickMaya.

...

Rayfa is a child conceived of a commoner and a Queen, yet she is now taking the throne. Adopted children can be considered just as much royalty, however Nahyuta would get first claim to the throne if something happened to Rayfa.

I doubt that's still true after AA5 and 6?

Seeing how his character never really grows or develops throughout the series it doesn't change a thing. You just see more of him, you don't see ulterior facets of his personality. If you really want me to put it on words though, I think Dhurke has less of a character than Gumshoe in the first game alone.

Also none of the stories he's in delve on the character he's supposed to have or his past as much as Spirit of Justice does for Dhurke.

I thought Maya was going to get revived in this game.
>No Nick x Maya
Fuck. It would have been okay if they did it in this game. It's fucking time already.

NEVER EVER

You need to be capable of channeling to be King/Queen.
Men can't naturally Channel spirits, so the best Nahyuta can get is Acting King unless the entire bloodline dies out.

>realizing the country's court system is shit

>larry
>realizing anything

I guess this ship is going nowhere. FUCK

>a character having common decency and a good sense of morality makes him a stereotype
Holy shit, user. Are you a sociopath or something?

It gets worse. Pearl is in the game, but despite Maya no longer being forbidden to mention, she doesn't have a single moment where she ships Phoenix x Maya.

They're trying to bury it.

Not gonna happen.
like every other ship except maybe AthenaxWeebquill

He or Apollo can become Justice Minister someday I suppose. And who says Rayfa can't change the law at some point if it makes sense?

When I realized that Nayna and Amara were the same person and Amara had channeled Dhurke, I thought she had been doing it ever since the fire where she apparently died, and that Dhurke had been dead all along instead.

Well shit, you're probably right.

Pearl is not a little kid anymore.

That would be a crazy twist, but a little over the top even for a AA game.

Oh, I get it now, you can't read. That explains why you'd enjoy a character as shallow as Dhurke.

I got "spoiled" that Inga was Apollo's father
I actually believed it until we got the seance, and through the first failure was because Rayfa didn't know his true name.

It's Capcom's way of telling shipperfags to grow up

Yep, he'll die an old gay virgin.

The two could never be together anyway, unless Phoenix decides to abandon his profession forever and move to Kurain.

Does that mean that she now wants to fuck Nick herself?

>implying Iris won't be back in AA7

Everyone want to fuck Nick even Edgey, even the judge.

Or maybe you're just being too fucking cynical. I mean, what the fuck did you want Dhurke to say to them? "I rescued you because I didn't want to be labeled as an irresponsible parent"?

Oh, user, you really amuse me.
Let it go and move on/

Kurain is like a couple hours away by train, isn't it? It just means they wouldn't get to see each other as often.

I don't really care about the "shipping" since it's obvious the series itself doesn't know what direction they're heading. Capcom doesn't want to anger the fujos, but also doesn't want to actually make Nick x Edgeworth reality.

> but also doesn't want to actually make Nick x Edgeworth reality.
It's already reality. I mean, who knows, maybe one day...

No you fucking idiot. The problem isn't that he rescued them because he was his father or that he said it. The problem is that no actual father would say something as vague and sterile as "I SAVED YOU BECAUSE I AM YOUR FATHER AND THAT'S WHAT FATHERS DO", not to mention that I doubt you'd ever find a kid who would seriously ask the parent that just saved them "WHY DID YOU PUT YOUR OWN LIFE IN DANGER TO SAVE US?".

It's flat, lazy writing that makes the characters themselves feel flat and lazy. Everything about him is some generic tripe that could have been put together by any hack.

I know, but for a couple of minutes it really got by blood pumping.

Is the Asinine Attorney DLC an actual case or is it just some sort of long in-engine cutscene?
Also, do we know whether there is a DLC case?

It's a mini-case, it takes around 20 minutes. Next week there's another, and the week after that is the real DLC case, Turnabout Time Traveller.

It would make sense as a tutorial case, because it's babby-tier easy compared to the two cases before it.

Thanks a bunch. Maybe I'll give the mini-cases a shot.

Where did it all go wrong?

I feel like putting Blackquill there was kind of a sugar candy, so they didn't want to show it off immediately.

Magnifi was such an asshole that his genes can magically make everything into a horrible nightmare and ruin everyone that is remotely associated with him.

Gramaryes

Thalassa... had a hard life.

This just isn't a series where relationships actually go beyond platonic level, at least for the attorneys and prosecutors.

When Dhurke was saying stuff like "Jove Justice looked almost identical you but slightly older", I expected channeling shenanigans involving that.

Always blame the Gramaryes.

Expect Thalassa to die a horrible death next to atone for her sins.

>Datz Capitalist

I just want to worship those legs. All 4 of them.

APOLLO IS A SPIRIT MEDIUM CHANNELING JOVE FOR 23 YEARS UNDER A NEW NAME

Yeah, but that's getting a little bit ridiculous, since most of them are now close to their 40's

>Jove tried to save his kid
>Thalassa didnt even attempt to look

Jesus christ the Gramaryes are the worst

Why the fuck does he like balloons so much?

They just want to keep their magical attorney powers intact.

She looks like she has Downs.

>Pearl being very mature but also wanting to be more fashionable

Cute! Maybe they can do something with her like they did with Trucy or Blackquill in this game in AA7.

>not filling a bathtub with one of the last deposits of gold in the world

The Khura'in judge is underrated as fuck

>hates your guts at the beginning

>by the end he's a bro who defends you and doesn't let the queen get away with everything, actually wants to see the truth come out

and the progression is so slow you don't even notice

Watership Downs

He liked her balloons, and I cant say I blame him

>Pearl wants to dress like a slut
>Trucy has erotic magazines in her bag
You have failed me, Wright-dono

>Me:
Wait a minute, the timeline of this murder doesn't make sense.

How could Dhurke do any of this shit when he's been with us for a couple days

This is like the Two Iris Mystery, but there can't be two Dhurkes.

Unless...FUCK

You've stayed in this thread that long for your time to strike, huh?

did durke have the maya hair before the thing happened?

Yeah, the fact that he's basically on your side in the final trial after winning the two previous is pretty awesome.

>Trucy and Pearl are experimenting with each other

Gramaryes

How did she hide the thunderbolt tattoos on her cheeks?

He never sold it to anyone but himself anyway. That's why he went out of business

Why did he have to make his suicide look like a murder

Who is that big of a douche?

t. Mr. Reus

athena only has two moms

she's a robot

Maya gained a mole when channelling Mia, so if that can make skin shit appear, I assume it can also make it disappear.

Now that I think about it, the overall court gradually gets less antagonistic towards you by case 5. They were basically calling for your immediate death in case 1.

Is there a way to make text go faster in this game? The sound of text is making me nauseous and how there is so much of it fucking sucks.

go to the options and choose the option to skip text that you have not yet read. That way you will be able to press B to finish the line, and hold it to skip through reasonably fast.

Considering he showed up to rescue Beh'leeb in front of Maya and Phoenix, he already had long hair

To be fair, he was kinda right on how terrible the Gramaryes are if AA4 was any indication. The only one that could be considered an exception would be Trucy and that's primarily because she was raised by Phoenix.

B-but one could share their magical powers to reinforse them..

Decades later and the Gramaryes are still getting people killed. And I doubt that's the end of it, considering Nick still hasn't told Trucy and Apollo about their mother. And I'd bet money they won't learn about it until her death, just like Maya and her mother.

I love how the developers sort of gave a nod to the reception Pearls got from her Dual Destinies appearance. Dhurke and Apollo mistaking her for a child is funny as fuck.

Rayfa is a shit! SHIT!!!

I'm really glad the Kurain judge wasn't Udgy2.0. He's still a goofy character, but in his own fun way.

One of the most underrated improvements in the game: the ability to choose this shit.

DIE

>Mr. Reus wants revenge for how the Gramaryes are assholes
>ends up being the biggest asshole of them all

>case 5
>all the comments about dhurke pre reveal
>all the comments about apollo jokingly staying
pottery

Yeah this
On three separate occasions I fell asleep (against my wishes) playing the game and the charger came undone in my sleep
If this were any previous game I would have just stopped playing for a while

>athenaxweebquilll

Nah, this one is very retarded too. She'll always be a child to him.

Also everyone in AA is asexual.

Rayfa is best girl. I seriously hope she is now Apollo's permanent assistant.

>pearl can't draw for shit

she tried so hard

It's a step from gravy, at least.

Fuck. I wish I used this in case 5 day 2, with all the fucking slow-crawling textboxes containing nothing but ellipses that that fucking case has.

t. Horn Head

How is the gravy still there after like 9 years what the fuck

Kurain is like 80 minutes by train. It's a morning commute at worst. Phoenix even says he'd have come to visit Maya more often if she'd told him it was that close.

>Next game

>Apollo with Rayfa assistant
>Phoenix with Armie/Sarge assistant
>Athena with Blackquill assistant

THIS IS MY DREAM PLEASE MAKE IT COME TRUE

More like apples and oranges. Investigation series is already quite different compared to regular AA series, but the gap with DGS is even greater.

As a game, DGS is quite weak in general, almost on the level of FJA and AJ: the cases themselves aren't exactly impressive (3 and 5 are the only noteworthy while 1 was just more complex than usual X-1 cases), and they tend to drag more often than not.

But the game has a much better presentation in term of settings and character development, with emphasis on the screenplay.
You trade some crazy and overblown twists for more character development and theatral presentation so to speak. If the characters don't click on you, DGS will fare way worse than any other AA, but should you take some interest in them (mostly Ryuunosuke, Sasuto and Sherlock Holmes), it will enjoyable still.

It does cover themes that are barely touched in other games (the meaning of trusting the defendant, what is "the truth" and so forth), which is quite refreshing. Case 3 nags you a lot, especially if you have done other AA games before.

>She'll always be a child to him.
lol what? They only have like a 10 y. difference.
I hook up with a professor in uni he was 44 and I was 18, it was fine, you know, really.
>asexual
Is that some kind of new sjw type sexualityof some sort?

Sounds really good, muh man. Hope, you're right.

Was he an edgy weeb?

>Not Trucy with Sarge assistant

Make it happen Capcom.

>Apollo with Rayfa assistant

She's a queen.

>Phoenix with Armie/Sarge assistant
That's random.

>Athena with Blackquill

Nah, he should be her rival. 6-4 was fun as a one time thing, but Blackquill is a good foil for her.

No

I really hope Armie comes back. They have to do something with her, with both of her parents being dead. I hope Phoenix takes her in

He was a very edgy sociologist.

How can you even be a weeb at 44?

In AA many couples have a quite consistent age gap of 10+ years, so I don't see it as an issue either.

Stains

No, please Phoenix can't handle another teenage girl in his harem. Capcom, plz don't.

>lol what? They only have like a 10 y. difference.

He met, and bonded with her, when she was a little girl. To the extent that he willing to sacrifice everything for her. She'll always be that little girl to him.

>She's a queen

That didn't stop her from following Nick around like a lost puppy.

I wish. Her design is perfect. Unfortunately she'll probably never be mentioned again. But if they could find another case for her like with Adrian, that would be great.

I was half expecting Nick or Apollo to suggest she moves in with them. The Wright Talent Agency can always use more teenage girls.

Your claims doesn't hold water. The difference seems huge when 10-20, than 20-30 it's ok, then 30-40 nonexistent. He obviously has a strong bond with her and she as well, that can very likely transform into romantic relationship.

You have my sympathies

A weeb that likes classics like the original Gundam, Lupin III, etc.

Based on the end credits she's staying in Kurain. So that's an opportunity for a reappearance.

I WANT TO HOLD HANDS WITH SARGE!!!

...

...

> The difference seems huge when 10-20, than 20-30 it's ok, then 30-40 nonexistent.

Again -- that's not the point. You probably don't have any younger siblings, do you?
