Make a new Metroid game and make it a good game.

make one, and then have Samus as the main character.

new topic, what would a new sequel need to fix the paper Mario or Starfox series?

A game where you collect power ups to explore an alien world over the sound of great music

Fusion 2

Other M 2

Prime 2

New prime game might be on the horizon, Prime 3 and federation force secret endings point to it

>federation force secret endings point to it
Elaborate

A game with new MC where you go to a planet similar to Zebes but in the end its all a simulation and you fight the president Metroid

Prime 3 is a almost a decade old, I don't think that it can safely point to anything.

2 whole D's

METROID PRIME HUNTERS 2 BITCHES but on pc this time.

>made by From Software
>it's a 3D third person Metroid game with worlds built like Dark Souls, but with gameplay like Armored Core
>fast paced aerial combat via space jump which can be activated later in the game, juxtaposed with ground combat by enemies that can swarm you or outmaneuver you
>bunch of collectibles to find, interesting new powerups
>the story is whatever, nobody really should care. The point is that it gives context to the world, nothing else.
>massive bosses the size of arenas
>at some point, foil the space pirates
>fight a hundred Ridley clones
>then fight ridley prime, who's this massive bloated monster straight from his original appearance in Zero Mission, but now he's got weapons grafted onto him ala Prime, but can spawn mini-ridleys
>later in the game the federation fragments, and you fight the bad guys like commander oldfart mcbaldy aka the guy at the end of Other M, while supporting the good guys like Admiral Dane.
>unlockable minigames at the end of the game, like a proper Republic Commando-like title with the federation Troopers that shows respect for Samus and the world at whole by being a GOOD GAME
>no voice acting
>few cutscenes
>no amiibo support

THERE. I JUST SAVED METROID!

In star fox's case. Make it longer. Make it not the 10th remake of the first game yet again.

...

They should just make a softcore porn game with ZSS already.

I am glad you're not allowed to make video games.

They did, it was called Other M.

As opposed to you, Mr. "Zero Suit should be the focus and there shouldn't be gameplay"?

asses

Ok you start off in a base doing a mission and you have loads of really cool weapons and abilities. Every enemy or situation you encounter you have multiple solutions for dealing with. Then a thing happens and you get stripped of all your power, captured and thrown on some desolate planet somewhere to rot. You resume the game almost powerless, and the hook is that you need to explore and find new locations, enemies and regain your abilities, which will enable you to reach new areas and fight new things, which in turn will lead to discovering more new equipment that poens up yet more avenues of exploration. Throughout the whole experience one of the selling points is the lonely atmosphere.

What do you think of my new idea, Cred Forums?

Accidentally time travel back to the Chozo metropolis through some wormhole or whatever and find out about their filthy hidden secrets while trying to get back.

youtube.com/watch?v=Au3Og4utbOw

This is still the absolute dirt worst moment in Metroid history. Worse than the Ridley scene. You could write a fucking dissertation on how gigantic a fuck up this one scene is.

Make Super again.

Samus butt VR.

youtu.be/pX4mhp-8sOc?t=972

>License Metroid to Kojima Productions
>Shinikawa is the artist, Kojima is the director, Ken is the producer, and bring back Fukushima as a writer
>Make it a Third person adventure/action game
>Have them make Samus into a big boss like counterpart (BB, not the boss because BB has humor)
>Ban Tanabe and Sakamoto from touching the series again

Pretty much it

Making babies with Samus!

Samus's character is perma-ruined; just make a new spinoff series starring Sylux with the same classic gameplay and atmosphere the series was once good for.

>A fucking dissertation
I'm pretty sure people already have.

Third person shooter. Samus never leaves the suit, only taking off the helmet at the end of the game and smiling at the camera with a thumbs up.

Hey, at least they tried something new.

Of all the bullshit reasons why.Samus loses all her upgrades from one Metroid game to the next, Other M was by far the most shitty.

A 2-D Metroid with new upgrades, enemies, bosses and areas.

Third person based cover shooter with hordes of enemies. Take out that exploration shit and make the metroids look bad ass.

fuck off cancer, we have enough of that

Sorry if this is too much.

>No dialogue except grunts / efforts.

>No monologues, cutscenes, or communication with outside military or government bureaucrats.

>Total isolation in a dark, colossal, brutal, silent world.

>Samus is a cold ripley / amazon type who doesn't give a shit about anything except the mission. No emotional baggage or mommy instincts.

>Totally labyrinthine world full of esoteric mysteries, and hidden horrors.

>Bloodborne like (just humor me) terrifying music and bosses that appear out of nowhere.

>100% player guided with well rounded action / shooting mechanics, but no tutorials.

>Secretive ad campaign full of misdirection to keep the game events a secret.

straight metroidvania
two upgrade lines of organic metroid mutations and chozo upgrades

multiple endings based on which you took. pure metroid=samus becomes metroid queen and plans to overthrow the federation
pure chozo=samus resolves to take down federation herself by revealing the truth

There are a couple of things Nintendo would have to do to un-fuck the Metroid series with a new release.
First off, they need to address the fact that Samus, despite being a bounty hunter, has acted more like the Federation's one-woman army/exterminator, depending on the game. They also have to remove Other M from the canon, for obvious reasons.
Secondly, they need to come up with a decent reason for Samus to lose all the abilities she gained in the last game (Fusion, assuming we're talking about Metroid 5). Considering she's a fugitive from the Federation by the end of the fourth game, they could probably find a way to strip her of the abilities they sent her in Fusion's download rooms. That still leaves all the abilities she gained from the Core-X enemies, but you could probably explain that away as the Metroid vaccine interacting poorly with them.
Metroid 5 should be set after Fusion. Mother Brain and the Space Pirates (including Ridley) are canonically destroyed. Samus controls as she does in AM2R, which is basically Zero Mission's gamefeel but a little more streamlined with slightly less irritating shinesparking.
Samus should not talk. It worked fine to establish her character in Fusion, but cutscenes should be used extremely sparingly - think the SA-X's wordless reveal, which everyone agrees was one of the best moments in the series, and apply that to one or two moments in the next game. Adam should exist as the ship's computer, but his role should be relegated to "this is generally what you have to do," and navigation rooms should be removed completely.
Give Samus a new enemy force to fight, one that isn't the Space Pirates. Draw inspiration from sources other than the Alien franchise and create antagonists who are enjoyable to fight and give the player a reason to hate them. People love Ridley because he's an asshole who keeps coming back, but that isn't a character trait that'll stand the test of time.

They did:

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13373815860B43920100

It's essential reading.

Samus Aran becomes a metroid herself

nintendo needs to stop targeting them towards 4 year olds

/thread

You forgot the part where you have to ponder these extremely important and fascinating enemies, which we know are the most dangerous life form in the entire universe

...

maybe all the creatures on the planet are hiding and protecting it. like a symbiotic relationship

It's not Other M.

Wow because it's so important and interesting, it must be something really cool like that

There's so much you could do with a sequel to Fusion.

Of course most of the ideas that get posted here are autismal garbage but some things work.

so it's federation force ?

just about everything else Samus has ever faced is more dangerous than a Metroid.

X and Phazon are far more devastating.

Metroid Maker

Like Mario Maker, but you can pull from all of the 2D metroid games and abilities.

Nintendo would print money with this.

>being part Metroid allows her to control them

I don't like it but I could see them doing that if they stuck with the whole part Metroid thing.

No, they wouldn't. Metroid levels are at their best when they're well-thought-out and they require a lot of time and effort to make. Mario levels are simple because they can be small, and Zelda levels are debatably small enough to commercialize, but Metroid Maker wouldn't be able to work.

Most people would be recreating Super Metroid levels more than anything else.

Can you imagine the level of autism that would go into Metroid levels? Just horrible shinespark after shinespark

Right, and that's fine, but there's only so much of Super Metroid that you can recreate.
Let me rephrase what I said. Super Metroid is made of a series of unique elements. Mario is built from repeated blocks.
As much as I might enjoy playing a really good fanmade Metroid game (AM2R was probably the most fun I've had with a platformer since Shovel Knight), I think I'd rather customized Metroid remain in the hands of romhackers.

I'll just make Prime Hunters 2.

And after you beat the game as Samus you can run through single-player as the other hunters.

>trading world-building for muh horror feel
>removing all of samus' humanity, a recurring theme in the series
>wanting the same old urgent strings, percussion and choir over atmospheric ambience
That just sounds like a boring game in general.

A post-Fusion game where you play as the Federation's new anti-Samus killbot.

The catch is that the robot has been forced into the exact opposite role that it was created for, because some serious shit has gone down and the real Samus is nowhere to be found.

>cold, amazonian, doesn't give a shit about anything except the mission
Way to entirely misunderstand Samus' character.
Honestly, both sides of the 'bimbo in a morph suit vs stoic amazon warrior' argument are just as wrong as each other.

Making Samus a constantly pmsing edgelord isn't the antithesis to Other M faggots.

...

Have HAL Labs make a 2D game

More ass, pls.

a VR porn game where you remodel samus' shithole

A 3rd person Prime game, that handles like MGS4/V

I want to see a Metroid game where the action is actually fun.

Keep the maze like worlds and the standard Metroid style of progression but make it some kind of fast paced, Shinji Mikami style 3rd person shooter. Add in a bunch of totally optional weapons that are only there to give you more options in battles.

>Give it to sega
>make it a racing game

Hire Eroquis

>but with gameplay like Armored Core
Not even subtle

The action in the 2D games is fine. I would say it is in Prime as well, but getting locked into a room with the same damage sponge pirates isn't very entertaining.

People say that the evil Feds would make for boring villains but there's some potential in having a new enemy that can go "well the space pirates did x, y and z and it didn't work, so we're going to do a, b and c instead"

Unlike the Space Pirates they've had multiple opportunities to analyze the varia suit up close, and they know exactly what it's capable of.

Human soldiers wouldn't be able to fight Samus. They would have to invent new things for that job and that's what makes the concept interesting. What would effective counter-measures to Samus' abilities look like? What would a Metroid environment look like if it were designed by people who are already familiar with her tricks?

You could really fuck with the player's expectations and force them to develop new tactics.

Space pirates discover a long abandoned Chozo metropolis on an unmarked planet, filled with technology not known to the GF. From prior experience with both space pirates and chozo tech, Samus identifies this as a major threat to the universe and decides to brave the ruins for her own personal reasons.
2D style, new planet, new upgrades, new enemies, a space pirate piloting a ridley-based mech maybe.
Anything simple like that would work, really. Any old excuse to plaster new features onto old styles.

>You awaken on a planet and you hear a female voice
> "Find me." It says
>You try to summon your ship only to find it isn't responding
>The voice begs you again to find it
>As you make your way you find that bounty hunters are after you, but you aren't sure why.
>You kill the bounty hunters and gain upgrades through the game
>The voice guides you along
>You find out that the voice belongs to the phazon
>At the end you fight with the phazon
>as you defeat it, it compliments how strong you are and how strong you will become
>You realize you have been playing dark samus

butts

Something like a slower-paced Vanquish, with more strategy to weapon choice and less QTEs would be the closest you'd get.
But the more I think about it, the less likely it seems.

Actually, this is sort of the basis around FF. They could have Samus battling GF soldiers in modified, mass produced Varia-replica suits. Lacking the upgrade and energy output of the original Chozo masterpiece, but formidable in numbers and ease of production.

yall asked you some ideas, and i contributed.

Metroid Prime 4

AM3E

>made by From Software

HERE WE GO

I've pieced together a few ideas:

Samus lands on a planet seeking shelter from the GF scouting parties that want to bring her in. For about 30 minutes it plays like normal. Then Samus gets completely overwhelmed by geemers and zoomers. Cut to a GF marine.

You then get the message that Samus was incapacitated by wildlife and presumed dead. Your new orders, instead of chasing Samus now that she is thought dead, are to help in a campaign to cultivate the "perfect military mind". You play through what is a reskinned CoD campaign in order to clone Adam.

Afterward, you are rewarded by playing as Adam. He decides that Samus would be a valuable asset, so he travels alone to the planet she was on and single-handedly infiltrates a Space Pirate military base. The gameplay is now similar to DMC but with tons of one button finishers and cutscenes. No matter how bad you play, Adam mops the floor with everything.

Eventually, you break Samus out. She is exceedingly thankful and happy to see Adam. She gives him her suit with all upgrades available. The game now plays like RE4. You lead Samus around like Ashley. The final boss is Ridley, prefaced by a scene in which he leaps into view and scares Samus into hysteric tears as she shivers on the ground. Adam kills him through a series of QTEs, and it is explained that Ridley is now permanently dead forever.

After the credits, there is a scene in which Adam is receiving lots of medals and awards. Everyone is praising him. He realizes that Samus is no longer in the audience. Fearing the worst, he activates his fully upgraded Power Suit and shinesparks, with no speed buildup, back home. Samus is there, and she's baked a cake for him. The final shot is Adam sitting in a chair, helmet off, eating a piece of cake. Samus is sitting on his lap with the Zero Suit and an apron while kissing his cheek.

>made by From Software

Wow, dropped by the end of the first sentence

I want an open-world Metroid game that takes place on a large city/space station where you be an actual bounty hunter for once. You go around fighting crime and chasing bounties on lowlife criminals that the Federation military police are too pussy to handle themselves.

When you're not doing that, you're taking the fight to the Space Pirates by performing strikes on various facilities around the galaxy.

youtube.com/watch?v=-goCv7zyBWU

People think this is Sylux and Tanabe is quoted as saying he hopes FF's plot will lead to more Prime games with Sylux as an antagonist.

>One of the bounty hunters that appeared in Prime Hunters was named Sylux. I do have an idea to have Sylux back and to have a story that involves Sylux and Samus. In that sense, that story would possibly take place after Prime 3. But for that the Federation Force would also be involved. It would be in the big picture of it as well.

>open with a pair of federation detectives (one male, one female) exploring a deserted chozo planet
>You control one and run around killing rogue baddies and monsters
>Within the first 30 min you encounter a powerful chozo being and it incapacitates you and your partner

>Wake up as a young samus emerging from a test tube on a different part of the same planet
>Immediately have extraordinary physical prowess, gameplay is Ninja Gaiden-esque but you use a full controller and find your blaster early on, etc.

>Progresses like a standard Metroid game with Samus revealing bits of where she is and where she came from. At the end, the big reveal is that the Chozos genetically engineered you using genes from the captured detectives as well as Chozo genes

>It's revealed Samus was meant to be a weapon to eradicate all Metroids, but as players we know where that ends up...

...

The good news is that Sylux appeared in the secret ending of Prime 3 as well, making this pretty likely.
The bad news it, Prime 4 might be in FF style.

>open-world Metroid
Fucks sake

>From Software

When will people stop falling for the 'open world' meme? It's pretty much a recipe for boredom at this point.

No, the bad news is that we'll probably never get a "Prime 4" because Nintendo will interpret FF's poor performance as people not being interested in Metroid anymore and have probably already indefinitely shelved the series and condemned Samus to Smash-only purgatory.

At least she's in good company.

>open world

Stop.

Also, Samus' "bounty hunter" title is a misnomer. She's a mercenary/gun-for-hire, but that terminology has negative connotations to the Japanese since it's more morally grey.

meme "just make Metroid game" responses aside, I'd like to see a Metroid game with chase sequences like the SA-X in Fusion but with fuckhuge creatures who absolutely wreck everything in their way

>ctrl+f platinum
>no results
For shame, Cred Forums

That's good, though.

Too bad that one asshole had to go and throw in From Soft

Other M 2 but call it other MM, eventually you'll get to other MMMMMMMM at which point it becomes a cooking game.

In Paper Mario's case, make it a proper followup to Thousand Year Door.

Turrican crossover

GalFed now hates Samus so she goes and takes a bounty way outside Federation space.

Would allow us to see entirely new civilizations, instead of constantly coming back to Chozo and Humans.

Yes please

But then she'll be fucked if she can't regain her lost abilities she keeps losing in every Metroid game

That's not how vaccines work, Tim.

She gains new abilities from the new Aliens.

Fusion already showed us that GalFeds can manufacture some of Samus's suit abilities and give them to her in data rooms, why wouldn't some entirely alien species be able to give her some suit upgrades of their own? This would particularly be a way to get away from blindly copying Super powerups day in day out.

Let's start: what entirely new powerups could Samus get?
>anti-gravity, switch the gravity in the room and Samus now walks on the ceiling.
>reflector: reflects enemy attacks back, possibly at an angle. Certain enemy attacks are more powerful than Power Bombs, and reflecting those attacks are the only way to break certain blocks

It follows the basic structure of a Metroid game, unlocking abilities that let you go through terrain you couldn't before. The difference is, those abilities are costumes you have to invoke with sexy dance moves.

>gliding
>Samus can't recover her screw attack, but she can glide long distances after jumping instead

A Metroid dating sim.

You play as Samus and can date any of the enemies you've faced over the series in a school setting. The images have them looking like their in game counterparts but with cute outfits and blushes to make them kawaii desu.

Ok. Here is some fanfiction level shit.

>Samus is a wanted fugitive and the Federation are after her (The truth is they want to extract her Metroid DNA to continue their experiments)
>In addition to this, the space pirates are back in full swing and want to extract Samus's Metroid DNA (Plus they want to fucking kill her)
>If this shit wasn't bad enough, the Metroid DNA is slowly mutating her genetic structure and her human DNA is gradually deteriorating. Throughout the game she transforms into a hideous Metroid queen. This is also a gameplay mechanic like corruption.
>When Samus is overwhelmed (take a lot of damage in a short amount of time, tons of enemies attacking you from multiple directions), Samus will transform. Her attacks are stronger, but also makes you a bigger target, plus Ice attacks will do 4X damage to Samus (Yes there is an ice world too)
>The plot is trying to evade the federation and space pirates, while looking for a way to stabilize her DNA
>She learns the Chozo are still alive and tries to find them in hopes to remove the Metroid DNA from her safely.
>Sylux & Weavel are recurring bosses.

Yeah it's shit. fite me.

A stripped down, low budget 2D eShop title with as many of Super Metroid's original team as possible sans Sakamoto.

Star Fox would also work better as a low-budget arcade download only rail shooter.

So Shantae basically?

But with a pure, blue eyed, blonde 6'7" aryan.

Basically, Metroid: Extreme Beach Volleyball

Federation girls are invited to Adam Island, shenanigans ensue

The ending in Fusion revealed that the Feds like to make ai back-ups of important people. Samus is an important person. They probably have an AI version of her sitting in a vault somewhere.

Stick that in the best combat robot you can build and set it loose. Like imagine fighting an enemy that's weaker than you, but it knows all of your tricks and it uses stealth and tactics and homefield advantage to make up for the power disparity.

It would be maddening, like taking the SA-X dynamic and reversing it.

>>made by From Software

>pure
1/2 Chozo, 1/2 Phazon, 2/3 Metroid, 3/4 X-parasite

Metroid 5 where a strain of X parasite crops up that Samus can't deal with, forcing her and the Space Pirates to reluctantly team up and have her DNA reverse engineered to create a new breed of Metroid that can combat the threat. The X parasites are gone, Metroids are back, they have an in-universe reason to not be exterminated anymore, and the series no longer feels written into a corner.

Why would she team up with the Space Pirates, and wouldn't they just douse her in Phazon?

That is, why not team up with the GalFeds, or hell any civilization that isn't god damned pirates

>Why would she team up with the Space Pirates

To address the elephant in the room, we've gotta pull some bullshit. Let's just assume that it's also in their best interest for science reasons, like they don't like Samus but they dislike this new strain of X parasite even more. Following up Fusion isn't gonna be easy to do logically.

>and wouldn't they just douse her in Phazon?

The entire Prime series happens between Metroid 1 and 2. Fusion is Metroid 4, so Phazon has been eliminated for some time now. What I'm suggesting is a Metroid 5 to get the series out of its story rut.

As for why the pirates, they're batshit insane enough to conduct experiments of this nature.

You play as young Samus, exploring a Chozo colony that's being abandoned. Zero combat, just exploration and puzzles.

>"Metroid is based off of Aliens"
>Watch Aliens where the marines are ordered to relinquish their ammo and grenades because of the nearby reactor
So that's where Other M took it from.
>Aliens is also the one where Ripley obsesses over a child and flirts with one of the marines, and at the start has PTSD fits

No combat, just wandering around? You might say there's Zero mission

Nice quads, and honestly I'd try it.

Better yet, young Samus' birthday party
Presents hidden in the walls yadda yadda

...

Sequel to Fusion.

Being now a mix of X Parasite and Metroid, Samus is now hunted by everyone and their mother wanting to clone both lifeforms for biological warfare.

Plot twist: You play as the hunters. You'll quickly discover that Samus herself has become a threat to the universe and must be taken down.

>samus turns into a metroid queen

You couldn't do this in gameplay, she'd be 2 big.

It'd basically mandate that every area in the game with combat is super open and there aren't too many ranged enemies.

what about environmental hazards too? would she transform if she fell into a pit of lava?

Samus gets kidnapped by Pirates and its up to Computer Adam to save her. Samus is separated by her suit for some reason, and Computer Adam hops in to control it. He fights through the pirate homeworld to save the damsel in distress. Now he and Samus can be together forever in the suit.

Boom

Metroid 5, that's it

>made by literal and figurative meme developers

>samus is turned into a bloated, disgusting alien metroid monster
>swallows little girls with her metroid vagina
>impregnates them to create more metroids
>destroys the space pirates with her newly created monster sluts
>they become kidnappers for her so they can kidnap more girls
>the game ends when you've maxed out your colony of impregnated sluts
>lots and lots of slimy tentacles and alien semen
>unnngh. this can't be real

I SAID WE'RE GOING TO REMODEL YOUR SHITHOLE

How big/long does a Metroid game need to be? Fusion felt just right, but the Prime series got boring with the backtracking back to the Chozo spirit stones. I'd play something that was about Fusion's length, but I'm not sure I'd go for another Prime

Gory TPS, go all out with violence. Literally a Dead Space clone with a Metroid reskin.

Will there be DLC skins?

No, just unlocks.

Give Super Metroid ending outfit and instant buy

New Metroid game with Samus' in her new Metroid-fused form

Disgusting. Another reason I will never touch Other M.

Couldn't be said enough.
>Samus needs to get Serious

...

>>Samus needs to get Serious
Samus needs to be a CRACK SHOOT

Super 2, remove zero suit.

Metroid is saved, that was easy.

...

...

Retards.

Retro sure as fuck isn't going to make a decent Metroid game seeing as how most of the senior staff that worked on Prime left long ago. You sure as fuck don't want Sakamoto at the helm (see Other M). Most of Nintendo's other teams make only shovelware now (and the ones that don't are busy making Mario #93854).

Who else would you possibly suggest?

>made by From Software

An entirely new team
Retro was a rather inexperienced team when they made Prime 1

>X
killed by a Metroid

>Phazon
not cannon

Phazon is canon.

a game where i cum on that ass.

Team DoctorM64

Samus gets captured and fucked for hours on end

I have never played a single Metroid game

Honestly, if we're talking devs
>Unknown Worlds Entertainment

A game that caters to modern Metroid "fans"

>prime hunters 2
its called federation force, faggot
this is why neckbeards dont run nintendo
pretty nice spinoff idea desu but it would trigger Cred Forums so no
you dont understand the metroid series
hell yes
kys
good until "chozo still alive" and also very unrealistic for nintendo to do
yeah, just like how tloz needed to get serious
a metroid: twilight princess would be shit and you know it
so just a half-assed fan game that makes metroid look bland and boring? metroid mania?

this thread is proof that the metroid fanbase is absolute shit.

Just make super 2. You dont even need much of a plot. Just send samus to a distress beacon somewhere in space. The planet has some indigenous life forms that descended from the chozo that are either now alive or dead as plot points. The distress beacon came from a generic secret base researching metroids. Space pirates are there because samus needs something to shoot at.
There go nuts. Just make the game handle well and itll be golden.

>yeah, just like how tloz needed to get serious
>a metroid: twilight princess would be shit and you know it
Opinion - pretty sure that's why they had a Child and Adult ear split. They could keep all the camp they wanted in one game, and explore new territory in another. No one will know if it's shit, or not until it's made. But that's the problem - Nintendo doesn't like to try new things. Their talent is a stagnate; especially when it comes to older franchises.

Prime is it's own series, not cannon with the rest

Is Other M canon?

...

Unfortunately yeah

Nintendo is no longer capable of doing that and when someone did it FOR them on Metroid's 30 anniversary they shut it down.

...

this

It's canon in the same way Halo: Reach is canon by sitting in its own little bubble since no other game in the series can work with it.

Give Chair Entertainment the license and make super metroid 2 with Zero Missions artstyle

I don't understand why this is a thing, Samus always came across as the type to get shit done regardless of her personal feelings, she obviously thought the hunters in Prime 3 were cool and she regretted eliminating them but she still fucking did it with almost no hesitation because that's her fucking job. You didn't see her suit phase out during any of the intense shit in the Prime or main series

Funny tidbit, Sm4sh had to "retcon" Other M and state that the reason that the space pirates were mindless and only obeyed a mother brain was because they were Federation cloned to be like that.

Controls like a faster dead space but plays like a metroidvania

Has in game ui like dead space too

Samus Aran becomes a metroid queen.

I'd rather her turn into a Space Pirate.

2010 was the worst year to be both a Halo fan and Metroid fan. I found it so hilarious that after both Halo: Reach and Metroid: Other M both devs had to repair the damage these games did to the series canon. If you take Other M and Reach out of their series canon nothing would change, in fact both series would be far less confusing without them.

Sounds like the Sm4sh team had to scrap together was left, whether or not they liked Other M.

Samus ass slapping mini game on phones as part of nintendo's smartphone strategy.

I never knew I wanted this up till now

>Samus crash lands in the underwater part of outer space
>water and shit everywhere
>weird new upgrades and crap due to the water biome
>fuck i don't know
>maybe some mermaid space pirates

>Game about Zero Suit Samus
>You remodel things on her

i want a game where samus really comes out of her shell

A 2D spin-off about a Chozo going through a rite of passage to obtain its Power suit.

You know how Metroid Prime's focus was to make a Samus simulator? You feel like you're Samus.
Why not take that concept further? What are things they could add, change, and improve on to make you feel like the bounty hunter?

That eroquis doujin in video game form.

The possibility that I could encounter someone like Samus in a bar has made me angry at the fact that I only have one dick.

>made by From Software

I swear, these guys and Platinum are the most overrated devs. It seems like a lot of people on Cred Forums suck their dicks and want all future games to be made by them.

3d dot heroes looks okay but I'd never be able to enjoy any non souls like game that they made because I'd let myself down too much

especialy from software, their running out of ideas.

Continue the fucking story of Fusion.

For fuck's sake the intro says "Metroid 4" but there hasn't been anything remotely related to it.

It ended with Samus tainted with Metroid DNA, and the Federation super pissed off that she disobeyed orders and crashed the station into a planet.

It's practically a cliffhanger.

How is the Metroid DNA going to affect her in the long run?

Is the Federation gunna put a bounty out on her for fucking up their evil plan?

God fucking damn it all.

Instead we get a non-sequitur FPS story, a soap opera written by a 13 year old girl, and a fisher-price toy.

Nintendo is the purest form of fan betrayal. Butthurt doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about how they're handling the franchise.

>>maybe some mermaid space pirates
Had those in Fusion as a matter of fact

all the more reason to go through with that idea

I'd say From is more overrated because Platinum never fucking made a game that was literally unplayable. From has.

>made by From Software
>built like Dark Souls, but with gameplay like Armored Core
>fast paced aerial combat
>fight a hundred Ridley clones
>then fight ridley prime
>fight the [Other M guy], while supporting the [Prime guy], nobody really should care about the story though (few cutscenes)
>proper Republic Commando-like (as a mini game)
>THERE. I JUST SAVED METROID!
Fuck off.

They worked on Star Fox Zero

Could they pull it off, Cred Forums?

Im not gonna make a judgement about their pedigree as a developer in general but holy shit are they the wrong fucking studio for a metroid game, like wtc D:

Which isn't unplayable. Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is. And you can't blame Kinect, there are PLENTY of good Kinect games.

AM2R isn't good though.

Care to explain why you think that?

FROM did Heavy Armor? Where the fuck have I been?

It took everything good about Metroid II and did to it what Zero Mission did to Metroid: ruined it. The added power-ups like the Power Grip was awful in Zero Mission and it's awful in AM2R for the same reason, since it slows you down and makes platforming trivial. Power Bombs and Super Missiles were always bad additions to the series, and AM2R continues their tradition of just being different keys to unlock different paths.

You play as Samus in an alien space station supercity inhabited by millions of the seediest criminal elements in the galaxy. Due to circumstances she wasn't able to smuggle her suit into the city, and instead has to salvage tech, weapons and armor from various sources to create a patchwork suit that will suit her purposes as she hunts down all the nastiest crooks in the galaxy aboard the space station/city.

But she's not just here to collect payment on all these fresh bounties: she's after the heads of the four largest gangs in the city, who have all been contacted with a mysterious agent who has acquired something precious of Samus's: a vial of her own blood, which is now infused with Metroid DNA. In the hands of these kinds of pirates and murderers, that could be the start of a whole new field of biological warfare. Samus needs to track them down and stop them, retrieve her blood samples, and discover who it was that managed to betray her and steal her own blood from beneath her nose.

The gameplay is 3D and first-person, with a focus on platforming and puzzle-solving to unlock different ways to navigate the city, opening up new options for you to engage enemies.

Have a few branching paths for how you use the salvage you find, allowing you different playstyles and weapon types to make use of. A more classical option to play as a Varia-style suit with ball and ice missile options, a tankier suit that is less mobile but can magnetize itself to platforms to ignore zero-G or high winds, or optimize her Zero Suit for maximum mobility in the tight urban sprawl.

Enemy types would include all different sorts of space pirates and criminals with a variety of combat gear, as well as a new series of biological super-soldier that were injected with Samus's blood and have become vicious monstrosities. Not to mention all the bizarre alien creatures that make their living scavenging in the dark corners of the city.

How'd I do? I've never played a Metroid.

Only if they had another dev handle the combat. Other than that, abso-fucking-lutely.

that image is so dumb and edgy
her suit cant be damaged until it runs out of energy then it just dematerializes

>Not ID "Run and Gun, fuck alien monsters up" Software.

the baby part 2

Well good thing it wasn't a vaccine, but a genetic modification.

A male protagonist. FOR TOO LONG WOMEN HAVE DOMINATED THE METROID SERIES, IT MUST STOP.

EQUALITY! EQUALITY! EQUALITY!

It's a good thing there wasn't another X-parasite around after samus recovered the Ice beam, huh?

Already had that in FF

I think I would love a spin off Metroid title in that takes a bit from Doom 2016. Mainly the speed, the weapons, and the enemies. Make it short, fast paced, cost like $40 or $30, have some level design similar to Fed Force and give Samus a load out screen to take whatever she wants into the levels. It could be an arcade like Prime experience. People could compete to have the fastest times on levels or maybe the most points if they can score it like Fed Force. This would be something for the fans to hold onto until the next Metroid game. They can even add more levels via free timed release DLC like Splatoon. I'd buy it.

She was already setting things up to remove all the X-parasites in existence by the time she got that. I also don't buy that getting the SA-X's core reset her DNA to pre-fusion Status. It didn't change her suit's genetic-based look beyond colors, and cold doesn't affect adult Metroids very much more than anything else, and Samus is an adult.

Fuck off cuckquean

You already have Federation Force.

>doesn't like zero mission
opinion invalidated

I meant a full "go to places on contract to local governments/the Federation and fuck up the space pirates/gangsters/monsters" game with a bunch of weapons that you get thanks to the Chozo "plug'n'play" tech her suit apparently has. Make Samus a bounty hunter again.

Not certain how I feel about that idea. I get how it could work, but I feel it could flop badly as well.

What would the story be about?

Oh look - it's the too cool for vidya counter-meme meme. How predictable.

The Pirate plotline would be related to their continued genetic experiments, possibly even introducing a new leader for them. The gangsters would be dealing with corruption and let us explore the more stealth/exploration aspects that Metroid can offer, with the option to go loud (at the cost of things now being on a timer before the bosses get away/the evidence is destroyed). The monsters would be more just missions to gain cash for upgrades/ maybe find some Chozo ruins. All throughout you might pick up clues to a larger conspiracy relating to the BSL and other bio-weapons that a faction of the Feds are developing. If you get enough evidence, you can bust them and maybe fight the genetic monstrosities they've made.

Dat ass, This image quality doesn't do justice.

Doomclone but with Samus.

I'd play it.

The concept of a space-pirate controlled system sounds interesting, but i'm not sold on putting shops into the game

I was thinking to use is to get spare ammo, upgrade the gunship, maybe some health upgrades (not replacing the exploration, but to supplement for the places that shouldn't have ammo and energy just lying around).

This the best moment in all of other m

Metroid Prime 4: The Hunt.

'The Age of Bounty Hunters is over. The galaxy is at peace."

Takes place approximately 1000 years after the Metroid series. You play as a Space Pirate loosely related to the originals sneaking around a Federation compound. By now, the Galactic Federation has turned into vast and powerful dictatorship ruled by a network of advanced AIs and advanced super-soldiers.

Eventually you stumble upon a cryogenic facility and accidentally release Samus, whom you fight with briefly until you're forced to team up. The core part of the first game is figuring out what happened over the past 1,000 years, stealing Federation technology and bits of her heavily-dissected suit. It's a semi-reboot to provide a new context to the Metroid universe.

anyone got that picture of samus standing knee-deep in acid in the varia suit?

Andross places a bounty on Fox and his crew, Samus takes the Bounty.

I thought it was F-Zero that crossed over with Starfox.

It'd work

Metroid prime with breakable terrain.
More indigenous flora and fauna.
More atmospheric effects.
Less Linear.
All about cavern exploration, and survival.
Power beam is weaker than usual but still has infinite usage. While special beams are effective, they have limited ammo.
Wave beam once again shoots through walls, but only a short distance. Also retains electrical ability.
Plasma beam once again shoots through damage, and is incendiary.
New "Turn beam"(name is work in progress). It's ability is to twirl at a high rate like a drill. It only extends the front of Samus's canon, and it meant to make breaking terrain easier. It's also useful for mechanisms that require rotation. When use on an enemy, it repels them back a great deal. It's missile combo use fires an large drill that travels a few meters, before exploding, sending enemies flying, or turns a big chunk of terrain into dust.
Thermal visors make a return. Can sense heat, cold, and radiation.
Focus on isolation again. Only Samus, creatures, and space pirates.
Samus talks again, but only to herself. She remarks on things she scans. Some things cause her to expose more information than others.

I had this idea where we let all the old franchises die and make new IPs entirely.
I got fired from Nintendo and now they won't stop harassing me. Iwata is haunting me all the time and saying what a pussy I am. I walked on Reggie ploughing my wife and he said he is gonna "Give me a new IP to raise". And Miyamoto keeps on hiding in small objects and when I open them he screams "DO YOU RIKE IT"

>click on thread with samus ass
>no samus ass to be seen
for shame

Gotcha, senpai.

Put Samus in a suit, kill aliens.

>dem kids in the background

how has no one though of this before?

Prime in 3rd person

>Metroid 5
>Adam is still in the ship but shuts the fuck up unless you talk to it for hints
>use it to travel to different planets
>planets are build like the areas, only a bit bigger since they aren't connected to eachother
Now you have wind waker in space

Metroid: Rebirth

2D of course, none of that 3D FPS or GOW garbage.

Samus has gone missing. A mysterious bird-like warrior takes up the challenge to find her. On some fag-ass planet he discovers the wreck of her ship and decides to investigate.

Yadda yadda, the usual Metroid fare.

Deep within the planet he discovers a massive Metroid queen like thing that swallows him. Seeing no way out, he blows himself up, leaving the player with a scene dripping with guts. BUT WAIT WHAT IS THIS STRANGE CLUSTER OF EGGS IT'S METROIDS AND AMONG THEM IS A SHINY ONE HOLDING LOLI SAMUS. You then wake up as loli Samus and as you touch the remains of the unknown bird warrior, strange energies envelop you and give you your suit back. Suddenly the other eggs hatch. Seeing how she's the only other being around, the baby Metroids all imprint on Samus.

Fast forward thousands of years. Samus is dead and gone, but the universe enjoys everlasting peace and prosperity thanks to technology developed from the study of the Metroids. The last scene cuts to a restored SR388, where a large motherly statue of Samus with huge tits and ass is worshipped as a goddess of bounty and fertility by a cult wearing Metroid hats.

As the scene cuts to black, a single Metroid squeak can be heard, followed by a 20% discount code for Metroid Federation Force 2.

This is disgusting. Here is a reply. Please kill yourself.
