I have played the game. It's format is this:
>cutscene
>poorly written exposition
>follow the dotted lines on the minimap
>more poorly written exposition, maybe throw in some exposition vision for good measure
>mash quick attack to kill some things
>more poorly written exposition
>rinse and repeat

The other 90% of the game's "content" is collecting POIs on a empty map. It's just another made to order AAA movie game. It's lazy shit and designed to pander to the lowest common denominator.

Witcher 3 was written in English.

It really wasn't. They definitely gave the translators a lot of liberty, but there are some puns that were blatantly lost in translation.
