So I bought KOTOR 2 yesterday on Steam and decided I want to play it today. Installed the Restored Content mod from the Workshop, started up the game, but now for some reason, the mouse in the game won't work after every cinematic.

Anyone have an idea what the fuck I can do to fix this?

Anyone?

No idea, but have you tried running it from a crack/without steam?

try disabling hardware mouse? Should be an option in the setup

I'll give that a shot.

Nope. That just makes me have two mouse cursors in the game.

>people jizz over the kotor games
>both are literally easy as fuck on the hardest difficulty setting
>it's so easy it's boring. really boring
>you literally can't lose

I'm not trolling. These games are shit tier, and I can say that because I beat both. It's literally impossible not to.

Play Dark Forces and Jedi Knight instead. Much better games.

Nobody plays them for a challenge you dingus

The recent steam updates can cause issues, try uninstalling, reinstall using the "legacypc" """beta""", and then install Restored Content.

>game has to be hard to be good
Go jerk off to your Blood Souls games

>legacypc

What now?

It's the game before widescreen and workshop and achievements.

Games have to have a modicum of challenge. Without the threat of death, what's the point? It's like if you could pick a setting below casual. That's what hard mode is like on both the KotOR games.

They're literally not worth playing.

>"muh star wars dialogue"

Dude, even RPG games aren't fun without some challenge.

Wait, so I don't get to have widescreen if I do this?

You can still get widescreen, it's just not preinstalled. However, you'll need to google yourself, Flawless Widescreen I think. I never got it to work, nor do I care, I play in windowed mode.

Jedi Knight games are quite good.

Also, does anyone know how to get KOTOR 1 working? The opening splash screens crash my PC, but disabling them disables all in game cutscenes too.

Fuck this shit, I'll just refund the goddamn game and pirate it.

I mean, what's the point of owning a legit copy, if it doesn't work properly?

Yet these are the same retards that will shit on every "cinematic" experience that comes out today for the exact same reasons (all story boring gameplay). Sadly the games of today have more difficulty than the snoozefests of KOTOR, but that's neo Cred Forums for ya.

Have you tried running it in comparability mode?

The kotor games run like shit on modern machines and the normal user has to go through in order to get them to work.
Of course, if you don't want to go through the troubleshooting, you can always get the Xbox versions.
Also why would you get the Xbox versions?

Reddit says that the resolution can cause a crash on the prerendered cutscenes, I seriously doubt it. Go to the ini and set Fullscreen=1 to 0, and Frame Buffer=1 to 0.
Just in case, try disabling movies, going in game, and setting the resolution to 800x600 or something native. Also, disable Steam Overlay.
You could also try a reinstall.

>he's playing a role-playing game for a challenge in combat

The difficulty is with actual roleplaying. Don't post on this thread until you do a 100% no fuck up playthrough.

I just tried the legacypc thing, then reverted back to the usual format of the game and now it works without issues.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this?

>being this autistic in the year of our lord 2016

"I'm gonna restart every single time I fuck up. I'm gonna be a real jedi and play the game like I'm a real jedi. This is fun. Oops! I picked the wrong dialogue option. Guess I'm reverting to an earlier save. Oh well, haha. I just love this Star Wars dialogue so much!"

>being so shit that you have to save scum

I guess the game is actually too difficult for you?

>implying I would ever come close to reaching the autism levels you display on a daily basis

I bet you jerk off to trap porn, too. Or sissy porn. I bet you do one of the two.
