Goddamn, had some good times with Duke back in the early dial-up days. Anyone remember the N64 port? It was almost completely a straight downgrade not even accounting for graphics, but there was one multiplayer map I fucking loved called Piracy. Had a big pirate ship and a little fortress you could try to compete for. Wonder if anybody ported those levels to the PC, I'd love to play again.

Speaking of N64 Duke, Zero Hour was one of my absolute favorite games on the system. I'd pay full price for an HD port to current systems and PC.

You're referring to Babe Land which is a level in episode 4. They're similar but different maps. Piracy was exclusive to the N64 version, as were a few other levels.

haha yeah I just ended up running around with the pipebombs because the hitscan weapons are impossible online, really wish it were like eduke32 with the mouse, even if it's laggy it would still be way more playable. still had fun though

Pretty sure megaton edition is peer to peer which is why its so laggy. YANG might work better since it's client/server.

Set it up for Blood. It has the best Deathmatch mode.

YANG recommends a specific build and says it needs P2P, while it says Server/Client is for later versions. Should I make this around the newer versions or the build specifically for this? It says the newer versions are more unstable but P2P isn't favorable to me

i think your problem may have actually been client location, did you ever point YANG to the bundled outdated eduke32 sourceport? i just realized it uses universal configuration so while i put "./eduke32-oldmp.exe" into the box it doesnt carry over to new drives

i see the problem now, yeah you definitely need to open ports no matter what which is unfortunate.
>You will also need to forward the UDP port "23513" on your router/modem to play games & if you are playing the DXX-Rebirth games then the default port "42424" UDP. Some games are Server/Client and only the host will need the game port forwarded except for games that will be using P2P mode, then everyone must forward their UDP port.
I tried latter clients with server/client hosting mode but it is completely broken gibbing on spawn, absolutely unplayable. if you want to play on YANG you need P2P and you have to open your ports. maybe blood wont need this ill experiment soon

The Steam version is definitive because it has multiplayer and all the addons. I think the GoG version has the addons but no multiplayer or something like that
