Tighter moderation. It's easy to evade IP bans but not tripcode bans. If you're changing your trip every other thread then what's the point? Plus, after a while, you would get sick of constantly switching IPs literally just to shitpost and rile up a handful of people. All the old tripfags I knew back in 2009-2011 said they eventually grew bored of it all and gave up, and/or used up all the IPs in their range/got range banned because a mod was sick of their bullshit, or both. I'm glad I never got involved with any of that shit, it seemed so troublesome.

Plus, now that there is a native filter, it seems like a much better idea shitposting anonymously and potentially getting more responses that way. Back then you had to install scripts yourself and not everyone knew about them, even the popular ones like 4chanx/Fychan/whatever else. Much easier to get replies when the average user would be using default configurations.

And of course, the phrase monkey see monkey do exists for a reason. People would see these guys rile everyone up over the most trivial shit and copy them because it looked fun. You don't see the same style of tripfagging nowadays because it just isn't "trendy" anymore. It isn't worth the effort and people have learned this over the years through either experiencing it first hand or from observing.

It's always funny seeing people post that tripfagging copypasta nowadays though. The message it conveys is no longer relevant. Times have changed but newfags don't know this and just parrot what they assume is acceptable behavior.

2012 was alot of fun, but also where a lot of modern Cred Forums's issues began, wiith Anita's kickstarter and Cred Forums's reaction to it giving her the spotlight, and EAs continued inclusion of SJW, the bit abotu God of War 4 removing a trophy or somethig because it was misogynistic.
