The map? Should it TAKE that long considering what's happening? Is the code perhaps being wasteful in certain parts? In BB's case of 40 second loading it was a bad code decision of destroying and recreating all monsters at respawn instead of simply relocating the available resources, which easily got fixed in a patch.

Yeah, but there are two ways about it nowadays:

1- The developers are thoughtful about the fact that the audience may include people other than horny teenagers and emotionally stumped adult men, and expand the exploration of sexual themes to include a wider range of sexual motivations and expressions, or

2- The developers understand and agree that what they are doing is a narrow exploration of sexuality for a concerned niche, and calmly receive the criticism of those for whom the game was not made for. All in the understanding that people are entitled to their opinion, that nobody can protect a creator from criticism, and that the narrower market may mean smaller revenues, thus lowering the production values.

Both sides of the argument are stupid. There are artsy movies, blockbusters and porn, and each live in their own fucking market and nobody gets salty about the other for the most part. When will developers, critics and gamers understand this?

music in a game isn't figuratively made in a vacuum, it's planned beforehand to adapt and improve the scenes that will play alongside it.

I guess I should have added "receive and discard what's not useful about it," but in a free society you can't force people too not judge or criticize. I guess one option these developers have is to identify the few people for whom they are designing and create a private, direct delivery method. But even then, in a capitalistic society, someone who wants to criticize could purchase the product, see it and criticize it. Free market is free market.

Having said all of that, most creators are concerned with the improvement of their craft, and not only in the technical part of it. I suppose the real problem here is that when critics talk about shit like sexuality, they are not only talking about the technical aspects of the product, but also de values of the makers and consumers. You may prefer that people don't imply your values are garbage, but the only real way to protect yourself from that is to turn off the fucking computer.

The best position to be in is when you can enjoy something tailored to you, hear the criticism, understand where it comes from, take from it what's useful, discard what's not, and keep enjoying what you like. Like tight swimsuits in anime ladies

Clunkiness can be measured by standard UI design metrics (average time to reach a UI element, average keypresses per action, element size v.s. distance when it comes to clickables, amount of available information on screen, readability at 10/10 vision on a set screen size from a set distance, redundancy level, etc.). This can also be normalized based on complexity (by using a consistent metric that may take into account the total amount of possible unique inputs, for example).

There has been lots of research in that area in particular, so bringing up this example is absolutely fucktarded.

Likewise, you can prove or disprove that a character is boring by counting the amount of previous characters that display similar traits for all identifiable traits according to some metric. Since the sample size is considerable, there is no bias in only using previous examples a priori.
