the aim on realism isn't as big as youve been led to believe, there are additional nuances but they play very much alike

It's been a while, but I have played PR. I'm not even saying it's bad, but I don't know how you can argue it's not very different to BF2. Take tanks as an example. BF2 players are very used to the idea that you drive and shoot a tank as one player. PR turns this on its head.

Call them CoD babies or whatever if you want, but people like BF2's faster, individual-based gameplay. The team focus in BF2 is much diminished thanks to the fact that an individual can accomplish so much more alone.

but having those realistic restrictions leads to teamwork. soldiers (or at least western soldiers) have specialized roles, so in the game it's almost impossible to do anything by oneself.

3/4 times you get a squad full of ADHD manchildren, but that 1 time you get a squad with a competent SL and cooperative team members makes up for the other times. It's especially satisfying when you're the squad leader.

Because EA removed BF2 off Steam/Origin and removed 2142 from Origin. They washed the hands of it. Why put in the work to retrofit Gamespy's netcode for their own when the community will do it just for a few extra sales?

If they patched in bot support for Titan mode, it'd be the ultimate community patch, really.

It's fun but rough. Low-end computers can hardly run it past 15fps and I don't think they'll ever get past the 72-player max on the servers. It's buggy as hell and lacks a ton of content; despite all this it's still somehow fun.
