Megami Tensei hits all the right buttons for me.
Megami Tensei and Dragon Quest, fun games with fast gameplay EO is good too
Btw when I was kid I thought FF was the shit but after replaying the series again recently, is probably the most boring RPGs I ever played (I can't stand FF PS1 games, especially FF9). Music still is great though, FF4 is my fav ost in the series
Tales
Final Fantasy.
Pokemon.
Legend of Mana
Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest and Pokemon are my trinity.
What would be the image corresponding to Breath of Fire? Pic related maybe?
You hate BoF that much?
Dark souls
SaGa, by far.
Persona
is that a man?
Share your opinions on basically everything.
The thing that really kills FF games for me is the ATB. I mean it can be a really cool system when done right and you have a lot of options that can interact with the bar, but in FF games most of the time it just seems to be "you've got to wait a few seconds to take your turn" which starts to get really old really fast, especially given that FF games don't really have the most interesting gameplay in the world anyways.
I dunno maybe they're just not for me.
She's an androgynous bisexual half-vampire female (female)
Why is feena best girl?
How do I into SaGa user?
All my favorite RPG franchises are either dead or have become shit ;_;
Rance
Play SaGa frontier obv
From easiest to hardest:
Romancing SaGa 3 > SaGa Frontier 1 > Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song > classic SaGa games (the DS remakes have a 100% english patch available) > Romancing SaGa 2 = SaGa Frontier 2 > Unlimited SaGa (stay away unless you're a SaGa fan at this point)
Play the first two in the list and then choose your destiny.
You should still name them.
Thanks friends
What do you enjoy about these games?
Fire Emblem played all the handheld ones, Awakenings my favourite. fite me
Geneforge.
lots of side stuff to do from the go, no hand-holding, characters can die permanently, skills are learnt and mastered through battle, no levels, characters can combo their attacks from SaGa Frontier onwards.
>Final Fantasy Tactics
>Fire Emblem
>Front Mission
>Tactics Ogre
>Disgaea
>Summon Night
>Devil Survivor
I like SRPGs
golden sun
Are you me user, this is my list too
I feel I forgot something.
are there any other good SRPGs?
off the top of my head
>Yggdra Union
>Advance Wars
>Jeanne D'arc
>Phantom Brave
I loved Jeanne D'arc
must play Yggdra Union someday
Arguably:
>vandal hearts
>tear ring saga
>langrissar
There's more but those are the only 3 names I don't see there that really spring to mind off the top of my head and considering they're all clones of games already listed they're not that important.
I hear Langrissar is quite good at least
