Some party compositions of mook squads mix elements so that you cannot do a Ma-spell and call it a day, status attacks land a lot and you are generally pretty fragile, so if they land a critical through a phys, you die quite a bit.

If you attack them out of combat and trigger smirk at the start(there is an app that makes it more likely), it becomes much easier.

Mobs are still dangerous if you cannot kill them in one turn.

Enemies are slightly smarter (if they have no options , they may attack the partner instead of your team), but they will still run into Tetrakarn/Makarakarn.

You can play Apocalypse just fine without touching 4 but there will be some things lost on you without any context. There are notes that the game does give you that gives background on some characters and events from 4 though.

With orcus, the idea is to debuff him/buff yourself (I do not remember exact spells available). As long as one character survives, the whole crew in the end will do the partner attack and hill him.

For the item based challenge, you have to do two things:
1)Use bufu stones for extra turns/actions
2)After debuffing him (I think you have taunt which increases his attack and lowers his defense( use the thunder spell from one of your demons to make him smirk while activating attack mirror. He will do much greater damage to himself

Finally, for the maximum damage challenge:
1)Cast one Rakukaja with Nanashi to survive two Megidolaons
2)On the first round, cast each monsters Dyne spell once to do about 1000 damage and force him to use Diarahan. This gives one extra turn to apply buffs/debuffs.
3)Nanashi keeps using tarunda for two turns, monsters cast concentration and the Smirk enducing spell
4)The extra buff from Navare will allow the Critical+Concentration Dyne spells to kill him

the problem is that some choices are unavoidable to some paths (like killing Pluto gives auto chaos points) and that they are not equivalent with some choices giving 1 law and 5 chaos or viceversa

on my first play I was aiming chaos and ended up in law for some reason, I didn't knew that the choices were this fucked, good thing I kept a save before the whites so I just aborted that entire game and restarted with extra stuff

They will probably explain everything what you need to know, but it is still recommended to play the original the get more out of some of the characters/backstory of the game.

It's not necessary but its recommended. The game has a database that you can read anytime that explains past events, key characters from IV and terminologies so you don't get confused.

There are two where you side with either Law or Chaos, but they're pretty much the same as 4's and are considered short/bad ends.
The actual routes are either Peace or Genocide.

From what I have heard chaos and law are early endings like the white ending in the OG game and the 2 main endings are Anarchy and peace in which Anarchy is the usual SMT kill all your friends ending and peace is the persona 4 and everyone lived happily ever after ending or so I have heard.

It's aimed at beginners so yes. It takes the neutral path instead of a good or evil path and it improves upon SMT IV's weaknesses. Great place to start the series.

I think you can treat is just like agility, which is the same issue of generally being a shittier strength. It worked okay in DeSu:O I guess for some of the later skills that hit a number of times based on your agi stat and do fucktons of damage if your agi is high enough, but strength wasn't really any worse.

you're not. skill slot apps are level locked every 25 levels. and dark/light are worth having on you. your skillset is going to have some serious crunch to it, so unlike in IV you can't handle everything with mc.
