If you liked the first one you'll love it.

That's pretty much it.

>turn based RPG

Okay, sounds good. How far are you in? Are there balancing issues like in the first one? Lack of content after the half-way point? Are rogue classes still useless and elemental wizards still OP?

Also, act 1 boss is walking talking pile of bullshit.

WHERE ARE THE UNDEAD?

THEY PROMISED UNDEAD AS A PLAYABLE RACE

is this turn based?

this tbqh nuclear family unit

They aren't in yet, along with the backer voted skills.

Yes

Just finished the early access part today. That's how much it took me to beat the first act while trying to do everything that was possible to do, including sidequests/areas.

Balance is definitely better than in the first D:OS, but there are tons of small bugs, of course. Nothing prevented me from completing quests and shit though.

I played with default characters (Loshe/Lizard/Ifan/Coldsteel the Hedgeheg) and pretty much developed them as devs inteded, though I multiclassed a little. Lizard was the twohanded god that one-shotted shit, Loshe was diverse elemental wizard, Ifan was a pure rogue, and elf was archer/necromancer. All of the chars felt useful. Ifan could one-shot anything with his backstab/fatality, Loshe was great at controlling space and setting up cool combos, elf had fun with both support roles and shooting elemental arrows, Lizard was being lizard. Some encounters could be easily cheesed with teleport (like in the first game), some were pretty tricky and cool. I especially liked the new bless/curse mechanics Act 1 boss is super random though, didn't like it.

Story is darker. Puzzles are not hard if you played the first game. That's pretty much it.

...

Cool, thanks for the insight.

My two cents.
Larian learned nothing from D:OS and will fuck this up, in fact... its already fucking it up.
Camera, same close up with little zoom camera, which was horrible in the first game
Combat speed... goddamnit Larian, one of the biggest single complaints about the first game, principal reason for me quiting... still the same slowly animated drawn out combat
The character creation screen... The game actually warns the player agaisnt starting a custom character, pointing out how much bestest the premade ones are
The dialogue system. Who the fuck greenlighted this mess? Fire the idiot. It's uterly jaring to constantly read "Tell him X" "Say to him Y", write like normal people Larian, you have been trying for god knows how many years and still cant do it.
the dialogue style is just... such a terrible, terrible stylistic choice.
Also the writing quality so far has been inconsistent as fuck, and not a marked improvement over other Larian games, if you didnt enjoy Larian writing before, this wont change your mind.
Seems like day\night schedules and combat speed slider were discarded cause of multiplayer. Also, the weird dialogue system cause of multiplayer.
At least on Diablolol clones, you can get unique weapons with unique properties, D:OS doesn't do that what makes its item system even worse than Diablo clones because the uniques on D:OS are terrible, that is a fucking lazy design. Guess developers are going for this MMO sweet money because items on MMOs aren't designed to be interesting but to estimulate the slot machine mentality of people and keep the money flowing, they only offer you the illusion of progression and the illusion of reward to keep the treadmill turning. I like items with story and unique effects, people talk to this day of the disruption mace, holy avenger, lilalcor and other items on RPGs.

Also when magic isn't something special on your game and every other hobo has a magical weapon, sorry, your setting sucks balls and items are useless becoming just a straight damage exponential progression treadmill. It would be better to completely remove the items and every time you level up, your sword gets automaticaly upgraded, at least that saves you from the time of sorting out all those crappy items. Even on the DnD setting where magic items are almost handed as candy, there was some restraint in comparison with D:OS and its loot system.

Combat is the real deal breaker tho, its exactly the same as D:OS, which means no buy from me.

I disagree, I hated the first game and I'm loving this one.

Ok, but that's mostly subjective.

Oh boy the shitposter is here.

Why did you hate the first game? And how's the second one different from the first one?

What's wrong with this?

I'm not the shitposter, and I really fucking hated the worm. Literally Retreat And Wait: The Boss.

4 player co-op.
Pacing isn't complete and utter ass
Race variety and racism.

The camera is kinda shit and sometimes it's a bit hard to tell where you're supposed to go, but other than that I'm loving it.

I missed like half the quests from the first city because I accidentally left before completing them and now I can't find a way back in.

Dunno about the game yet, but menu theme is fucking great. Too bad Pokrovsky or whatever his name was died. OST was so rad.

Reminder that if you see any post that includes the following

>Lots of """""""""""word""""""""""""
>Lots of ... wow... just...
>The phrase "kys"
>Generally lacking capitalisation

You're talking to the dedicated Divinity shitposter. Ignore him.

Agree, the musical instrument selection blew my mind, how it integrated in the menu theme.

After you escape from the Magister dungeon, are you just going to be perma-aggroed? I get you're an escaped convict, but I just want to return to some old merchants. ;_;

But I love how many different ways there are to complete story missions. There's already at least 4 different ways you can escape Fort Joy.

how is that a shitpost? those problems are real
they're not made up

>game isn't even out yet
>it already has an autist copypasting the exact same things in every thread

I guess it's going to be a raging success if it's attracting this much attention.

You can basically kill every magister in the keep, then you can talk to the merchants freely. I know I did.

every thread, like clockwork
that's some dedication, hot damn

oK friend,. i Totally will.,

>If I keep spamming it in literally every thread every day people will agree with me

Dude, go do something else with your time. Jesus Christ.

I haven't but I bought the first, enjoyed the pretty awesome battles for a bit, then got to the part of the story where you had to change all your weapons for special material weapons and lost interest.

I'm scared I'll do the same with the second. I hope they just improve on everything from before and learn from mistakes.

Can negative opinions only be used once per lifetime?

So is there not going to be any voice-acting?

Also, did anyone else do the quest where you release that undead's soul from that soul jar? I returned to him, and I see Mody crying over him, but my quest log won't update. It's supposed to be complete, right?

>people will agree with me
said no one ever
so my opinion is not allowed because i'm not praising the game?

I love how rape-y Loshe's story is. Her personal dialogue choices are pretty great too.

Anybody played other chars? How are they?

Spamming the same shit over and over isn't an opinion, it's spam.

Spam isn't an opinion.

Is there still crafting?

I thought the first game's crafting system was kind of crappy.

>There's already at least 4 different ways you can escape Fort Joy.
I only found 3 so far.

1) Winning the arena battle, getting your collar removed as a reward, getting thrown in jail for not having a collar, and then escaping from jail.
2) Discovering a hidden cave with fire monsters, then killing them or sneaking past them to reach a tunnel that leads into the jail.
3) Teleport up to the ledge behind the sick woman's tent, then breaking into the room next to the ledge.

>Spam isn't an opinion.
this post contains valuable information
maybe you're just a paid shill eh?

>So is there not going to be any voice-acting?
there will be

Why are people so wet about voice-acting?
Can't you read?

Personally I find it very annoying when you have bunch of text to read, and at the same time someone is reading that fucking thing AT LOUND.
The voice-over is either late or is reading something I'm not looking at.

Freeing the elf falsely imprisoned for stealing oranges leads to information that helps you escape.

It contains the same repeated and refuted garbage, it's spam you've been copy/pasting for at least five days straight. Fuck off.

Shills are here like clockwork.

Stop replying

>It contains the same repeated and refuted garbage
but it's true, your point shill?

>spell to rain blood
>raining blood causes enemies to bleed
>spell to drink the blood pooled at your feet to restore health

he's a console shitter, just like the most of the larian shills

THIS.

This war of mine did the dialogues perfect. Why can't larian do proper dialogues like this? When it feels good to read you imagine the voices and characters, they come alive, when it's just poorly voice acted to a badly rushed dialogue I want to quit.

Red Prince is pretty cool. He's thinks lizards are better than all other races and he's better than all lizards, but he also has this depressed side to him because he was a prince and now he lost everything.

Ilfan is just an edgy ex-thug. His dialogue choices are all variations on "I don't care" or "I'm an asshole".

The elf, I forgot her name, is also pretty edgy. She's some kind of assassin who uses a needle to kill people which she keeps bringing up. She supposedly hates lizards to the point where her life's goal is to hunt down as many lizards as possible because she was raped by one, but that pretty much never comes up even if you have Red Prince in your party. I'm not sure what happens if the player is a lizard, but I doubt it changes much.

4) Go to the main gate and fucking slaughter tons of magisters on your way. Paladin dude can help you with one battle though.
5) Go to jail/enter the fort, save a dying guy near the houndmaster, then tell the password to two guys near the boat in the underground section of the fort.
6) Enter the fort and fight/sneak your way through the torturer's chamber.
7) Help a skellington ghost in the cave to destroy his phylactery.
8) Help a captured elf in the kitchen area.
I think I forgot one or two though. Some of them still need you to get inside the fort itself though.

>Raining blood doesn't put out fires, it only makes them spread
>Which I learned as I was standing next to the edge of a fire

If you play a lizard, you can kill her through a dialogue option for daring to threaten you.

Yeah, the only thing I ask bout voice acting is either it being integral part of the gameplay, and thus justified (see Alpha Protocol, like the game or not) or being able to turn it off completely without it impacting my play - optimally souldn't be there unless first case.

You can also give the gheist the Yarrow flower, and report it to the Magister by the entrance gate that was looking for her father. If you return to the beach where the gheist was, the Magister gives you a key into the fort.

>Freeing the elf falsely imprisoned for stealing oranges leads to information that helps you escape.
Ah. I freed that guy, but I never found where the elves he wants you to meet are, so I didn't get to finish his quest.

DOS1 was a great formula, but fucked itself inside out on the story aspect.

The only thing this needs to do to be GOTY is to try to get a good plot attached to that amazing combat system.

How are we looking on that front?

>Ifan
>edgy
His entire family was killed by his former assassin buddies. Just try talking to that woman who lost her daughter or to children in general. Literally wanted to go out and get drunk after one of his dialogues.

>How are we looking on that front?
still silly, still lolsorandum

>GOTY
>Early Access kickstarter trash

Pick one.

This is my first Divinity OS thread because I'm interested in the game and the positive/negative opinions are both welcome. The only time it would not be welcome is if they were debunked. And if they are, show it

>Spam isn't an opinion

By definition it can be an opinion you retard

YOU SUCKERS NEED SOME FUCKING DOHM DIGHI DOM
youtube.com/watch?v=a_PZ2x2_vPI

Why did Divinity 1 was so fucking based?

>cast blood rain
>raining blood causes enemies to bleed
>cast contamination
>all the blood pooled on the ground instantly turns into poison

>amazing combat system.

You mean the one dimensional turn based combat where I can't even climb a tree or ledge or house to get a better advantage over my enemies?

circus shit

The only reason anybody on Cred Forums spams the same garbage over and over is to derail the topic and cancel out all discussion.

This is not an opinion, it's a text based annoyance.

I talked to her, but I only got to sit around and listen to her ramble about her kids. I didn't get any special option for Ifan.

>How are we looking on that front?
Hard to say right now. The first act basically sets up the characters and the conflict. I have a feeling that it will not end well for all the main characters though, as some stuff that was already set up looks like it's gonna get some of them killed.

I feel like you're the guy who wrote the steam review about how this game is bad because it wasn't a hack and slash

If you want your safe space so bad, maybe you should go to neogaf or larian forums?.
Just a friendly suggestion.

Okay, time for a dumbass question.

How do I get out of the holding cells? I killed all of the magisters and none of them have a key, nowhere I can teleport to to progress either. Is it something super obvious that I'm just not seeing?

nice arguments

Do you miss anything if you haven't beaten the original

Use the door leading up into the main hall, not the door to the side.

Maybe you should go back to Cred Forums.

And maybe the mods should do their job and ban you already.

only bad taste

Not really. The story is set in the same world, but it's not a direct sequel. At most you'll miss out on some lore and references, but nothing that really matters.

I played the first one but dropped it mid-way.
Can i pick this up without not understanding what's going on ? it seems like they've improved the mechanics a bit and i'd like to try it out

Seriously, what the fuck did Sven do to RPG Codex to piss them off so much?

This game is garbage, larian shills need to go back to where they belong. Until larian fixes the obvious blunders in their game design.

>And maybe the mods should do their job and ban you already.
for what? talking about the game the way you don't like?
excuse me, princess!

A good game.

Why are the skin color names so erotic?

See

Is there some story behind this?

I couldn't finish DOSEE, it got too repetitive and boring especially once you hit the second town. I also got sick of the writing and out of balance combat. The best gear (crafted) all looked the same also and the loot and inventory were shit.

That scaling loot is such a cop out.

>Spamming the same posts over and over again
>Intentionally antagonising anybody who even dares have a discussion about the Divinity games

You will not post any of the following outside of Cred Forums: Trolls, flames, racism, off-topic replies, uncalled for catchphrases, macro image replies, indecipherable text (example: "lol u tk him 2da bar|?"), anthropomorphic ("furry") or grotesque ("guro") images, post number GETs ("dubs"), or loli/shota pornography.

Well will the game release from EA?

Because they want to get their rich caramel and walnut cream all over your moms face.

Damn... fugly asterisks, pronoun reversals, oddly specific 3rd-person details like that last line about swallowing swords. Doesn't work for me. Instead of feeling like a conversation, it feels like I'm relaying through an intermediary.

How hard could it be to rewrite it all the normal way?

1. A cold pint on a hot day is the closest anyone can get to meaning.
2. I'm sorry. I hope you find them.
3. Umm.. how 'bout them undead? lol

2017. They haven't given a date yet.

Full game supposed to be out sometime in December of this year

>Intentionally antagonising anybody who even dares have a discussion about the Divinity games
show me

>retreating from the worm
but why?

Which one is it you fags?

2017

does it come from a lacerated sky?

>The only reason anybody on Cred Forums spams the same garbage over and over is to derail the topic and cancel out all discussion.

Most people do it because they want a discussion on both sides, the good and the bad, it happens everywhere including Cred Forums. If they wanted to cancel out all discussion they would dump CP and get the thread deleted. Talking about the negatives of something doesn't get a thread deleted which you claim their goal is. They just don't want the thread to be a circle jerk of just one side. If you take offense to it then do as says and fuck off.

>This is not an opinion, it's a text based annoyance.

If we take it as spam, spamming an opinion is still an opinion

No thank you, the third person descriptions of what my character said beats direct quotes any day. It means I can actually imagine what they said instead of having words forced into my mouth.

Does it have romance options, i need it you know

So long as Xandalor can die in this game to pay for all the shitty issues from the first one.

...

Because stupid magisters keep focusing my chars instead of a giant monster that can kill them in one hit.

Guys

How much better is D:OS EE compared to its original version?

is the tactician mode in ?

The Door to the Main Floor is locked.

Yes.

>Most people spam utter fucking garbage because they want a discussion on both sides

Here's your (you).

Spamming utter garbage does nothing but derail the topic as everybody who gives a shit about said topic is now arguing with the lone shitposter.

You are fucking dumb if you somehow confuse "not posting utter fucking garbage" with "wanting a safe space."

Something happened?

>Wanting a game you like to stop being bad is considered spam by shills

What else is new?

Two words: tactician mode.

Did you kill the dog master? IIRC he has the key, or it's somewhere near him.

>Spamming utter garbage does nothing but derail the topic
we are still talking about the game

TL:DR
Sven and devs hang around RPG Codex, discuss the game, what their impressions are and what needs changing
RPG Codex gives some ideas that get put ingame
RPG Codex even gets mentioned in the credits
You know who has some more """brilliant""" ideas on what to put in, Larian doesn't do it
The ideas guy goes full autismo, starts crying how it's his game and they're ruining it
Larian removes all references in credits about RPG COdex
Autismo suffers a total meltdown, shit gets real with doxing and death threats
Now he's on a one man crusade to ruin Larian.

And this is why drama whores need to be nipped in the bud.

Press alt to find a key, idiot

Holy shit, Lariandrones are in full force today.

No we're not, we're now on a meta discussion about you shitposting.

>spamming abbreviated gripes on an image board every time a thread comes up, instead of going to their official boards and posting it in a more readable manner so the actual devs can see it instead of a bunch of random anons

They removed the original cheese vendor dialog. Therefore it sucks.

BE THE BIG CHEESE ON YOUR BLOCK WITH A WHEEEEL OF THE GOOD STUFF!

>Spamming utter garbage

Its not utter garbage, they're facts about the game. If they're garbage, then prove they're false

>does nothing but derail the topic as everybody who gives a shit about said topic is now arguing with the lone shitposter

"everybody" is just you dipshit

>You are fucking dumb if you somehow confuse "not posting utter fucking garbage"

Posting negative facts about a game isn't garbage, its discussion. If you don't like it, instead of talking about "spam", talk about why they claims are false. That would actually contribute instead of showing everyone you belong on tumblr

Stop replying to that moron, you moron.

really makes you think
FUCK RPG CODEX!

This.

Im not going to lie, I really enjoy playing old turned based RPGs and JRPG's, but something like divinity, man they fucked this up. Why not make it more of an ARPG for fuck sakes

No, just Explorer and Classic so far.

I have enough trouble with normal difficulty. Don't even want to think about tactician mode.

Every time I think Cred Forums is the worst possible place to discuss games, someone from Codex or NMA or some similar shithole pulls some true maximum autism bullshit and I'm reminded that no matter how bad things get, it could always be worse.

It's the only version worth playing, because the combat is the only redeeming aspect of the game with everything else being literal doggy diarrhea.

RPGCodex literally never made anything of value though. Serves them right.

Hatemances confirmed!

it's just you, everyone else is talking about the game
including myself
good job you shitposting scum

>People should just continue to post the refutations over and over every time somebody spams their week old fucking bait

Here's another (you).

Do you sleep with this shitposter or are you from RPGCodex as well?

NOBODY HAS AS MANY FRIENDS AS A MAN WITH MANY CHEESES

Is random loot still in? I couldn't hold myself from rerolling chests until I got something good.

Shit, I didn't know that was even a thing. Thanks.

>Full voicing on abilities
>Rebalanced combat
>Tactician mode
>Built up the story and endgame
There is literally no reason to ever play non-EE.

>Not killing all the magisters first
Again, but why?

>rich caramel
>walnut cream
didn't know this game was about interior decorating

>Do you sleep with this shitposter or are you from RPGCodex as well?
does larian studios pay you well?

>>People should just continue to post the refutations over and over every time somebody spams their week old fucking bait

Yet nobody has, your refutations is to derail the thread into meta discussion which you're crying about happening.

You brought it to that discussion

Just filter out spamming and this thread just became more comfy without the butthurt larian shill who can't accept that the game needs heaps of improvement and we are ok to discuss their blunders here.

Yes, but apparently random chests don't chance on reload anymore. It's somehow tied to your XP, so if you reload you first have to kill something to refresh the chest.

literally finished tactician mode without save scumming. git gud

Amazing.
Why do people bother with RPG Codex anyway?

>being this upset

wew

Whats the other skill tier besides polymorpher thats still not in

I don't believe you, I actively read the codex and I've never heard of that shit.
The shitposter is the "hardcore game for hardcore gamers go back to skyrim" guy who got his feelings hurt when D:OS came out.

DUDE CHEESE

LARIAN SHILLS ON FULL DAMAGE CONTROL OVER DOS2 FAILURE

My major complaint about DOS1 was the fact that crafting takes literally ages and you need to do it every fucking time you level up in order to have the best gear possible.

>level up
>oh boy, time to melt all my fucking swords into metal bars AGAIN
>then craft the new swords that are now 1 level higher
>then fucking sharpen them
>time to sell ALL MY FUCKING ARMOR
>then improve all of it on the anvil
>then apply the fucking metal plates for reinforcement
>oh, and don't forget the boots, time to sell all of them and make new ones

The worst part is that you need to do all this shit EVERY FUCKING LEVEL and you're doing ALWAYS THE SAME SHIT so it gets old really fast.

Incredible at how a grown man can get such a meltdown over something so stupid.

...

We need to punish larian devs for what they did to mature gaming!

COME ON MAN UM CHEESE IS HILARIOUS WE AT LARIAN LIKE TO MAKE OUR GAMES FUNNY FOR YOU TO GET THE LAUGHS WHILE YOU PLAY AS THE LIZARD

Can't wait to pirate this, seems they fixed none of the shit from the first game. They even need to get shills to call out negative opinions as """""""""spam"""""""""

Except they've already made Age of Decadence, that shits pretty much on any post Fallout RPG except for New Vegas.

Ah stop being such a serious buzzkill

Fucking A.

>and you need to do it every fucking time you level up
>you need to do all this shit EVERY FUCKING LEVEL
No, you don't.

I'm pretty sure I got through tactician mode crafting literally nothing

DUDE TALKING SKELETONS! GOT IT? THEY'RE SKELETONS WHO CAN ALSO TALK!
LOL

Oh shit. Any pics of the aftermath?

please post the aftermath.

I bet it would smell like grilled cheese after.

9)the easiest: sneak past the magister in a big room, move some crates and you're free

Tons of devs read RPGCodex because, even though they might take things too seriously, they do give valuable input.

but the game is easy enough for you not to bother with craft

>trying to roleplay as a warhammer dwarf party
>hardly and good long term buff spells/party passives for my runesmith
God fucking dammit

I cant wait to get this game once its fully out, i loved the first one and i MUST play this.

It did "your choices really matter" a lot better than most other games. Too bad it has shit balance, shit gameplay and shit writing.

Yes, you do, if you want the best gear possible for your level. Every other piece of equipment in the game that is not hand crafted is literal trash and is not even worth picking up. You don't even need to sell anything, because gold is literally worthless and is needed only to buy some crafting materials, that are cheap as fuck in any case.

...

>shit writing
in that case dos games don't have any writing at all
just infinite walls of aaaaaaaaaaaaa

>if you want the best gear possible for your level
The point is, you don't need it.

Yes, if you're severely autistic and literally can't play without having the highest possible numbers at all time, you need to be crafting all the time. But there isn't a single sane reason to actually do so, so that's a moot point.

always apply nails to your shoes though so you don't slip on ice

Well, it's not exactly a masterpiece.

I still liked it.

Huh, so I'm both autistic and insane? T-thanks.

I'm still playing through the first one. I'm about 30 hours in and loving it, I will buy this when it is out of EA. Any idea when that might be happening?

>It did "your choices really matter" a lot better than most other games. Too bad it has shit balance, shit gameplay and shit writing.

This sums up the games larian makes in a nutshell. I feel like the direction is too kind on their employees and they don't tell them to fix their shit.

I like crafting and think it should be a well thought out part of any RPG.

I just wish they randomized it alot more in DOS games.

>Too bad it has shit balance
This is objectively wrong, because pretty much every combat oriented build can be made to work. I've played through the game with bost knife wielding assassin and a falchion-totting legionnaire and never had any problems with the combat.

I'll be completely honest whenever my two friends and I played through DOS we never had to craft outside of just sharpening shit or adding more elemental resistances to armor (Had to get as close to 100% as possible).

We beat the game just fine doing that and buying shitty gear from the vendor at the end of time, not like the final boss was hard anyways.

Another thing does anyone know if resistances can go above 100% in Divinity 2? The fact that I couldn't naturally have above 100 made me saltier than it should have.

End of the year, I think. Maybe early next year if they really fuck up quality control.

Just got the first game, what am I in for?

Tried the "alpha/beta/omegaa" for a few hours and as expected, I am p. disappointed with this "sequel".The game feels just more of the same as D:OS. An elaborate enhanced edition with a new story and a few new tricks in terms of abilities and graphics.

Same graphics more of less, same UI with a few tweaks, same design, setting and the story/writing, too. I suppose I was expecting some big changes and improvements, but overall, got alot of the same, with the same problems and annoyances from the first game.

The problem with DOS crafting is that it makes every other piece of equipment in the game obsolete and entirely unnecessary and the only downside to it is the unbearable tediousness of the process.

Resistances can go above 100, but only in some cases. Bless + burning gives you holy fire that makes your fire resist 150%. Same goes for phoenix dive, it gives you 150% fire resist for 1 turn after the teleport. Maybe there are other things like that.

>I was expecting an immediate sequel to not be the same game
Don't know what to tell you there friend

I haven't been following the development of this one pretty much at all since the Kickstarter and gave the early access a quick first try this morning before work. I can't really understand what the *Say x to y* dialogue style adds to the game and what's the reasoning behind adopting it, especially since the lines seem to be about as long as in the "tarditional" dialogue style. To be honest the way they're done, with an asterisk in front and after each line, makes it look (and hope) like they're some kind of placeholders that will be removed later.

Are they still using the godawful completely randomized loot system or has that aspect been improved?

Ha. Found the RPG Codex poster.

I only have a torrented version, in the one from Steam can you also not change any abilities when you make a character?

I'm also looking for a list of the spells for each combat ability.

So is the writing good this time around or as fucking bad as last time?

Yeah, for now all starting abilities for classes are fixed. Doesn't matter too much though. You can buy almost all skillbooks in the first location.

the dialog is here to stay, and it's there so that you can decide for yourself what exactly the character says, while it still being clear to you what the option will go for.

My problem is I was always a witchcraft person in OS, and that's necromancy now, and I think the only vendor for those books is around only after you get out of fort joy.

>dude it's just a game
another one of these bozos
real life might be more your speed, not Cred Forums, normie.

Personally I don't think I bought any skills at all until I was out of Fort Joy, so it's hardly a hassle.

is Age of Decadence a good game ?

I don't remember, honestly. Withcraft still has a great starting combo of spells. Just multiclass into geomancer/hydrosophist and have someone throw fire bombs/shoot fire arrows.

ffs Dildolos stop posting pasta from the RPGCodex thread. You've pretty much posted the same handful of critical posts already. Shouldn't you go back to masturbating over a picture of Brian Fargo, you sad little fanboy.

The content feels unfinished, but what is there is pretty good.

yes, it's a great and mature classic crpg tittle

I dunno. Got past the tutorial, felt immediately lost and quit.

Wasteland 2 is better than D:OS in terms of itemization for the fact that there aren't one thousand different versions of an M16 with barely any difference from each other, an M16 is an M16, once you see that you got another M16, you knew just by barely looking at it that it was something to be sold. On D:OS, I wish I could code to make a script:

"If more damage than currently equiped, equip, otherwise, sell on the first opportunity."

Is it me or the animations are ass?

These are placeholder right?

Literally "skill check the game". If you liked in New Vegas. Oh boy.

Do you enjoy actually challenging turn based combat?
Do you enjoy playing an actual RPG where your character generation and advancement choices heavily influence how you solve (or fail) quests?
Can you stomach some ugly-ass 3d graphics?

If you've answered yes to all those questions, then you'll enjoy the game.

I don't think it is as good as D:OS

>Is it me or the animations are ass?
not just you, animations are super clunky
>These are placeholder right?
no

let me guess, your other favorites are fallout 4 and skyrim

Trial & Error: The Game

I only play RPG Codex approved games, so yes.

to the wishlist, I might pick it up during Halloween sale

If you love savescumming, skill checks, trial and error, reloading and savescumming, yes.

Apples and oranges desu.

The damage spreads a lot further than you would think. Also all the npcs who get damaged start complaining in row to you.

Why not just reuse the DOS1 animations then?

>wishlisting something literally designed by a RPG Codex ideas guys committee

Did they at least fixed the music this time around?.
I've had to play the first game muted because of this crap.

your post does not make much sense sir

good qestion

Fuck you, the old composer is dead.

What's wrong with the music?

Between this and PoE, what's better?

I had a lot of problems with the pirated version of the beta and animations, my character with the bow especially.

I hope that was a bug.

Different games altogether. I might even go as far as calling PoE the anti-DOS game.

Is spell crafting still in? I tried combining some books and didn't get anything.

motherfucker got what he deserves
it was simply terrible in my opinion, i've had to listen to the fallout 2 ost on my mp3 while playing the game

It's worse due to early access.

Guaranteed replies.

And yeah the damage spread so far my party members without immunities died also accidentally

Do bows still fire from the knee?

what the fuggg

This screams false flag to me. Actually, not even false flag, but flat out bullshit. Absolutely nothing like this happened.

So why would you come to the internet and tell lies, user?

>If Leandra invested in oil instead of uranium robot knights she would have conquered the world
I'm sure there's an allegory in here somewhere

>Madora lived

on the right(righteousness) side you have Pillars of Eternity
god tier:lore, art direction, music, writing, atmosphere, story, companions, quests
but medicore combat

On the left(lewak) side you have dos
shit tier:ore, art direction, music, writing, atmosphere, story, companions, quests, bad jokes
but good combat

The choice is yours

It's a Lariandrone shill from the previous threads who cannot cope with the fact that people are criticizing his game, so he needs to find a scapegoat and demonize everyone expressing criticism.

>god tier:lore
What exactly is god tier about its lore? I can't remember a single thing that was actually interesting about it.

>god tier:lore, art direction, music, writing, atmosphere, story, companions, quests

is it worth playing? Likewise I thought the original was a load of boring bollocks and gave up in that empty city shithole on the coast.

Not him, but I enjoyed the whole "gods are literally machine AIs programmed by a sentient race of super beings to keep the world population in a perpetual state of balance" shebang.

But a fairytale about some argument between the RPG Codex and Larian that never happened? Sounds like a stretch to me, unless the guy has gone completely mental and is now hallucinating.

I disagree. I put more than 200 hours into it, which is more than into pretty much any other RPG of the past years.

But it is.

No other RPG has taken the whole choice & consequence thing as far as AoD. That alone sets it apart and makes it an important game in the genre, which every enthusiast should play at least once.

the gods are not real
Zahua is such a great companion

>god tier: lore, art direction, music, writing, atmosphere, story, companions, quests
I'm not gonna bash the lore, but the rest of it... really, user? You could at least put some effort here for us.

It did not
all made up lies by larian fans

It would be interesting if that revelation actually mattered or was relevant to the plot whatsoever. You've got the watcher "o noes I'm going insane apparently" plot, the Deus Ex Souls Edition plot, and then the Gods, none of which are well tied together or has any solid motivation.

It's a cool concept but "so what" was my reaction to 90% of the plot and world.

>Main character is a Rogue
>got lucky enough to find Teleportation early on boots
>Drop Red Sasuke Lizard Prince into the middle of a group
>Oil Meteor and Dragonflame
>no survivors
>mfw

I think you get the idea at this point. I also tried the same amount of barrels on the old final boss on the classic version. It took out over half his hp in one explosion.

The idea itself is not terrible, but the gods themselves are way too generic to make it work. That they are artificial changes practically nothing, so in the end it doesn't feel any more exciting than the plenty other settings where gods ascended from mortals.

ok
tell me what's so horrible about poe art direction, musicwriting, atmosphere, story, companions and quests
especially when compared to dos, with details please

>the gods are not real
But they are. They exist as entities with independent minds and power. They were just built my humans.

The whole "gods are fake" twist lacks weight when it has literally zero de facto impact on the world.

You got it. It was annoying in PoE when I was trying to read text and the voice over was too. There should be an option to turn it off. Only use it in select places, not lore 101 conversations.

I for one enjoy turn-based battles

I can only say that I finished PoE, while with DOS:EE I played for 80 hours and still didn't finish it

real rpg require:
top tier writing
mature story
interesting lore
memorable companions
decisions and consequences
isometric or semi isometric view
pre-rendered backgrounds
serious music
hardcore combat
world map
the freedom of go whatever you want to go
absolute minimum jokes, fourth wall breaking is unacceptable

Can We at least agree on this?

>This post again
It never ends, lads.

>fourth wall breaking is unacceptable

Just this would fix a lot of larians trouble with getting lost in their games.

So the shill is still here I see.

I don't understand why he does this

>absolute minimum jokes
Yours is a sad, empty existence.

you know what i mean by this
the are real and not real at the same time

Neck yourself, you don't even understand what are RPG elements. The only thing a RPG needs is for your character statistics to matter when it comes to providing the player with ways to progress. Everything else is secondary and optional.

I'd complain too.

Sounds like Divinity.

Yes, I know what you mean, but the result is the same - they still are real so the revelation has zero weight, especially when fucking over the gods in the end leads to slideshow stories about how they retaliated.

We don't care enough about the world for it to matter, because it's a bland landslide of generic fantasy proper nouns that feels like an encyclopedia rather than anything living. Nor is it really impressed why any of this, or even Thaos's goal, actually matters or what effect it would have.

real rpg requires to fuck rpgcodex.

Agreed. And it isn't even an unique idea. There is already a game that went with the exact same twist and managed to execute it in a successful way.

Are you sure this is not the autist with some personal vendetta against the 'dex?

Im going to pirate the fuck out of this game

>The only thing a RPG needs is for your character statistics to matter when it comes to providing the player with ways to progress. Everything else is secondary and optional.
I said real rpgs for a reason

>Post yfw you get a magic Crit

Not as much a disagreement tan adding to his statement bruv.

4 players was literally the first mode made for the original
>Pacing isn't complete and utter ass
Hard to say, is just the first chapter

Every thread there is a shitposter that spams the thread and diverts attention from discussion of the game.

270 posts, 70 posters

>game is released
>it's not fully released
I want to play but I don't want to spoil myself on the story with unfinished stuff
Fucking Larian

Here I'll help
>There is source and people are hunting down source again as a scapegoat
Now go play the game, the first section introduces the story but doesn't spoil very much

It's almost like there are 4 posts per person in a discussion thread...

Well is a early access game and we are on Cred Forums, so he's mostly keeping the thread alive if anything. Not that it really justify his stupid shit tho'

>Magic can crit now

Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?

I don't like replaying sections of a game and I know there is a ton of unfinished stuff, like party dialogs and such.

I would rather wait on it, I bought it, but I'm not opening it until the game launches

You can pick up a trait that gives magic a chance to crit, based on 50% of your normal crit stat

That's reasonable. I don't mind replaying the first area once I know how the game works a little more (plus I want to make an undead mage when it comes out fully).

>making magic even stronger
Oh you, Sven.

>that lizard armor

...

Huh, weird that they changed the chest and underside to be a whole different shade from the concept.

Did they increase the combat speed?
Can you see if you're going to step on environmental hazards before moving?

That shit killed my D:OS runs, enemy turns took forever and randomly steping on a electrified drop or blood or tiny block of ice wasn't fun

>Fire monster cave

You can befriend the fire slugs. All you have to do is talk to the queen.

Plz respond

I think it's not active

Are the animations placeholders? They look horrible

Fuck right off

>LMAO WHY NOT MAKE cRPG an ARPG???? GUIZE????
kys

>WATERMARK
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

>Are the animations placeholders?
no

Did they add anything for people who like to play spell blade type characters? Something so you don't just end up half a warrior, half a mage and shit at everything.

Does anyone have that video of DivOS where the guy kills everyone in the entire act with a long ass line of explosive barrels?
I can't find it for some reason.

TRY OUR PRESET CLASSES AND NOTHING ELSE BECAUSE ONLY THEY ARE GOOD, ALSO ENJOY YOUR CHEESE

Something in what way?

A lot of character actions are much cheaper than before, all attacks are 2ap, and a lot of spells are only two as well, some only needing 1.

I think he means something like Div2, where weapons could have physical and magic damage and they scaled with str/int respectively. You could make a melee character that solely used int-based melee weapons and a mix of warrior skills without having to balance your stats.

There are button to change your starting skills and stats, they're just disabled in the current version.

well, I don't actually know about some things, but unless it's like marksman skills I don't think many of them require any specific kind of weapon. I'm pretty sure you can use say, a staff to deal you damage, and still make full use of the warfare tree, for example.

Does it have offline coop?

you can change everything but your starting skills, actually. your stats and talents and civic and combat abilities can be changed.

You can pass the mouse around on turns I guess.

>Rogue Classes
>Useless
Played a zombie Rogue in my first playthrough, dont talk shit about my one-handed push-knife style, I'll cut you.
>get in trouble
>Throw poison on ground with elemental wizard
>Get healed
>Poison explodes
>"You made me do this"
>Go full Cold-Steel
>Bleed self to heal ad-infinitum
That was a great bug

gobbet is quite the cutie.

you think she'd suck me like my dick was an eggroll with duck sauce?

I forget.
I know Summoner was one but was Polymorph the other?
I want to know if I can be an undead, Tentacle-armed donut steel

It's a simple shirt.
They don't tell you what it's made of though.
>Start with cloth
>end with adamantium

...

Skeleton necromancer summoners

What a time to be alive.

>Bard lost
>Bard lost TWICE
FUCK YOU FOR REMINDING ME

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

There is a necromancer skill tree?

It was the least interesting option, so that's not a bad thing. Although alchemist and guardian are also up there.

Witchcraft is now necromancy. Putting points in it gives you lifeleech on attack, and it contains all the typical witchcraft spells like rain of blood.

a lot of the old witchcraft skills are in necromancy now, but it focuses more on hurting enemies and healing yourself at the same time rather than the buffing/debuffing that witchcraft had.

This one has fucking Chris Avellone so yeah you better believe I'll play it.

ATM can you do anything to help Mona and the other diseased person in the prison?

>Bard
>the least interesting option
You're going to be very sorry if you don't delete this RIGHT NOW.

Is it still a slow as dick game?

Yes.

Give me the trader secrets.
Who sells skillbooks in fort joy?

Most of the class books are sold outside the Fort

Any place I can see the results of which skills got in the game?

Diseased lady, some girl by the beach, two lizards, the wandering guy who wants you to do something for him, and some of the group around Griff.

Aww yisss.
That's easily the best change they've done. Now if only they added something that allow summoned creatures to leech life for you it would be perfect. But this will do. Oh yes it will.

I guess this seals that undead playthrough.

Thank you jesus. Finally people with taste

Wait wait, are they still doing spell-mixing?!
Can I do tentacle-transform with Bleed?

>45% votes went to RtwP
Too close for comfort.

Should be on their kickstarter page somewhere. I only know that Bard has lost and this is inexcusable.

As somebody playing Witchcraft right now, it fucking sucks.

>Reign of Blood doesn't put out fires
>Because it's a liquid, it puddles in completely random areas
>This randomness means Contamination is either useless, going to seriously injure you or an ally, or maybe hurt an enemy
>No disables

>Putting points in it gives you lifeleech on attack
So, hybrids are getting some love after all?

>alchemist
>one of the skill lets you combine two items from your inventory and throw the shit

is there anything better than ice/water/shock spells in this game?
seriously it's not even funny

In that case, yeah. Each skill adds some additional effects (like an inbuilt trait) - hydro raises healing, necro gives lifeleech, etc.

I like the blood spells

Ice is absolute top tier.

>Chance to freeze enemies
>If they aren't frozen, the ground around them is now slippery which has another chance of disabling them for a turn

Yeah, alchemist is silly as a class in Divinity because everyone already crafts and throws grenades and potions.

I don't mind RtwP in games like 7.62HC

but don't think it would be good for this game

what does geomancy do?

>level 1 ice rain spell
It's unreal how good this is compared to most of the other starting skills

I've sunk about 12 hours into it so far and just finished all the quests and killed everything in fort joy. It's pretty food.

you're posting on an imageboard

Just loaded up the game, here we go:
>Aeromancy increases damage dealt to magic armor
>Geomancer increases restoration of physical armor and poison damage
>Huntsman boosts highground bonuses and reduces lowground penalties
>Hydro increases healing and magic armor restoration
>Necro heals on damage to vitality
>Pyro boosts fire damage
>Scoundrel increases movement speed and crit modifiers
>Warfare boosts damage to physical armor

Well, everyone isn't a wizard and yet they can all cast spells.
Alchemists should have enhanced throwables as well as in combat crafting spells or something.

Cred Forums once schooled me about that game in one of these threads, actually. RtwP works if it's legit realtime combat with pause, I have no problem with that.
Problem is, 90% of games with RtwP are actually round-based with pause. Shit like BG, NWN or PoE. There ain't a thing more sad than ending up with that kind of combat system.

Hold on, is Witchcraft completely replaced by Necromancy now?

>Hold on, is Witchcraft completely replaced by Necromancy now?
Yes

>physical and magic armor
that's new. how does it work?

That's kinda weird, I thought we'd have both, even if they slightly overlap.
Related to skills, how many are still not in the game? I vaguely remember polymorpher winning that travesty of a poll.

How do you cure the diseased lady?

Anyone know of any recipes yet?

Basically, equipment has physical and magic armor statistics. Rather than being a % reduction to damage received, these act as additional healthbars that absorb their respective damage types. Have 100 physical armor, get hit for 100 damage, you take 0 but the armor is gone. On top of that, skills that cause effects will also be blocked by armor types. So something like freeze will say "Blocked by Magic Armor' if the target still has magic armor up, and similarly for knockdown and physical armor.

Enemies tend to have armor skewed towards their types (warriors have physical, mages magic), though as you start moving through the game you get enemies with some of both types. This means you can't just fire out a static cloud and instantly win fights - but once you break a key target's armor, you can lock them down brutally since you don't have stats like willpower/bodybuilding now.

Various skills allow you to pierce/break armor more effectively, or regenerate armor on targets as well.

Two additional healthbars that regenrate between each fight, spells are blocked by magic armor, physical attacks by the physical armor, after the corresponding one is depleted, your attacks starts hitting the real HP bar.

Every ability has a check against both physical and magical armor. If the opponent has any armor remaining to the related check, effects such as stuns/bleeds/debuffs etc. won't activate.

They had other skills like moving clouds and puddles around, transmuting them into different things, etc.

Polymorpher and summoner aren't in, all the types from DOS1 are in (with necromancer replacing witchcraft).

I'm read fucking intrigued at the idea of playing a necromancer. What's it like?

No skills related to actual necromancy i.e. summoning skeletons is in yet. They will be in a future update.

Hard to tell so far. Right now it's just witchcraft with more emphasis on damage/bleeding than the stat buffs and debuffs. We've barely seen anything past tier-1 spells, so I'm still hoping for some proper reanimation shenanigans.

Everything about this sounds fantastic.

Aight, thanks. Pulling undead out of the ground á la Diablo II's necromancer would be fucking cash.

I hope you can wear the cool magister robes one day

You can eat bodyparts to learn skills and read their memories with the right perk, so if necromancy can't do some NPC interaction stuff I will be very disappointed

Sounds rad as fuck. Kinda lines up with the Red Prince too assuming you can still play that guy and I didn't misunderstand the character creation system completely.

If you're a disgusting elf you can EAT PEOPLE

>You can eat bodyparts to learn skills
Woah.
Is this an elven thing?

There are 4 pre-made characters that have specific storyline content for them, the Red Prince is one of them. He's not the degenerate cannibal though, that's the elf.

Yes, it's a disgusting knife ear perk.

10 /10.

Fucking elves.

Shame. Would take all four if on wasn't a degenerate lizard monstergirl.

Is Bellegar in OS 2?

The lizard girls in DOS2 are qts tho. Why wouldn't you play one?

The Red Prince isn't a qt lizard princess

You can pick one of them and you'll find the other 3 as party members in Fort Joy. The others are two humans and en elf.

I misread, I thought he said he was playing a lizard girl.

do i have to play the first DoS to enjoy this game? i mean i want to, i really do, but it seems kinda shitty and gay desu

Does anyone have a side-by-side showcase of the premade companions

Look at it this way: if you don't like Sin 1, you probably won't care much about 2.

You don't have to, they're separate stories. If you enjoy the gameplay, you should give the first game's tactician mode a try though.

No clue yet. Only main story characters mentioned so far are Arhu, Lucian, Damian. Looks like this is taking place after Lucian's death.

My entire friend group consists of people who hated Divinity OS1 but love DOS2.

>I could get my dream an undead bard into this game
>Nope, have some Summoner.
As much i love summon shit, it was never fun on Original Sin 1 and i doubt it will be good on 2 too.
Too bad that they also didn't added the fucking Unarmed Combatant, that shit is fucking hope and it could had been amazing with Polymorpher.
>Wrestling shit tentacle sharp shit arms while doing suplex'n'shit.

>Every game has to be play either like Diablo or like Baldur's Gate

>Looks like this is taking place after Lucian's death.

Wait, seriously? I thought this game was going to take place back in the far past like D:OS.

So is this going to end with every race but humans getting genocided to bridge Divine and D2?

Finish today with a friend. I was playing a battlemage and him a wizard. We had more than 30 in all stat because there is a bug with the blood rose portion.
Need to try cleric and witch now.

You can use magic pockets to go after the guy who bails on you, using his magic spell, using the magic gauntlets

That's when I thought it would be, but the Divine Lucian is mentioned frequently as being dead, and at one point you bring up Damian (and meet a Black Ring member), so I guess that's when it has to be. Which seems odd, since Source is the big conflict driver rather than any of the other things around that period.

>Looks like this is taking place after Lucian's death.
Haven't played the game yet, but I feel like a complete dummy for not connecting the whole "DIVINE IS DEAD" thing and Lucian.

>Damian
Oh please fucking don't.

This is important here to me

How's the writing in this? Larian finally act like a mature adult for once with their writing or are they still write like childish immature manchildren that refuse to grow up?

It's a mix, so far every quest seems to involve somebody being brutally murdered. Including the animals you speak to if you have Pet Pal.

>That fucking cub who lost its mother and then finds her body

Does that mean they'll not let me create a pugilist ?

Damian isn't mentioned as an active character, but he's brought up in dialogue in the past tense. Presumably that puts us prior to Div2 since he's not active on the world stage again yet and Lucian is still dead.

Interessant. That almost sounds like Larian is maybe, possibly interested in doing a Divinity 3 one day.

Ah, who am I kidding. Of course they aren't.
Nevertheless this should be interesting. There is a lot of shit going down in that period. Unless they stick with the Source conflict only, in which case picking this period would be completely pointless.

Someone soldiers mention him offhand at a dock. One believes he's dead, but the other believes he's alright IIRC.

But the first game had 4 players. Do you mean that dual dialog supports up to 4 now?

So it is a sequel to DD rather than D:OS?

Something in between DD and BD?

but why

Already met a Black Ring member and a Dragon Knight (in the same sidequest) in Fort Joy. They don't seem connected to the main Source plot (yet), so who knows.

Lads, I didn't really think about it but that woman at the beach's healer family were probably shipped off to be soulless fodder . She seemed so nice, too ;_;

Lucian got played after Damian's return though, so he's gotta be around somewhere.
Fuck, send help. I don't want to see him ever again.

>but why
LARIAN

>I don't want to see him ever again.
What the fuck is wrong with you? I wanted to kill the shit out of him for over a decade now, and got cockblock EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TIME.

Yes, I fucking want to see him again and put an end to that bitch once and for all.

The Red Prince is great. You're a big ass, stuck up lizard dude who doesn't give a fuck.

She says they were taken in and hopes they're cured now. We know what happens in the Fort, m8.

>he's gotta be around somewhere
He goes off the grid after getting his shit slapped by Lucian, stopping just long enough to have him assassinated iirc. No telling if he'll actually be in the game, he could just be getting blown by endless legions of Black Ring sorceresses while crying over Ygerna.

The context Damian was mentioned in that I remember wasn't "oh yeah that guy", it was insulting someone by saying "Damian would have been proud of you", so very much past-tense.

Should I play previous games to enjoy this one?

Fuck you, Mimic.
Fuck
you
How do you get past the bulbs once you make it to the seeker sanctuary because I need to save my party

Nah, each divinity game are pretty isolated from one another.

This one is set 1000ish years ahead of OS, just before Divinity 2.

I really wish Larian would go full oldschool RPG and get rid of the cheap randomized loot and cut down on handholding (they added waypoints in D:OS EE). They cater too much to the modern RPG audience with compromises like that. I'm still going to play D:OS 2 once it eventually makes its way to GOG though.

Atleast it makes killing all the magisters morally fine

I wish they did not reduce the amount of ap from the first game. Now everything costs 1 or 2 ap, you can't have anything crazy that cost like 10.

I also don't like how all the people you can recruit are the playable characters. I want people with personalities in my party, I don't want to pick what every single person says, then it is no longer a story. If they aren't your personal character, most of their dialogue choices should be made for you.

>and put an end to that bitch once and for all
You aren't going to. Especially not in this game.
Instead, if he shows up here, he'll ruin everything, be an insufferable little bitch and escape death AGAIN.

Damian is stuck in nemesis still.

I swear, one day they are going to make a Divinity 3 and have Damian reform with the power of love or some shit just to deny us the pleasure of finally killing him. This will be Larian's ultimate fuck you to us all.

Please don't give Sven any ideas.

>Divinity 12
>Finally corner Damian
>Bellegar shall steal the kill, for you do not deserve such thrill!
>Game ends.

literally wat

almost every installment in the Divinity series has been a different sort of game

Divinity 2 was an aRPG, go play that

That will be the day when Belgium will burn. All of it. To the ground. And I will buy up all the salt reserves of the world and pour all of it on its ash covered remains so nothing shall grow there ever again.

I'll be good as long as Damian is worm food.

I kinda want to replay Dragon Saga but the battlesystem and gameplay so shallow

>want female lizard companion
>see female lizard

>I mean it's nothing big, but there's a naked mod out there for DV:OS
Never seen any, are these private only?

Any examples?

Nigger, the Codex and Larian have an extremely good relationship. user made up that story. It didn't happen.

Not him. You're an underage moron. Google it for yourself. Literally the easiest thing to find.

>DivOS lewd mods when
Anytime you actually check after the first month of release.

So basically there is none but you are hiding behind the "google it yourself" argument which you can easily twist around when search result find none

classic Cred Forums
pathetic

Not him, but it's on Nexus, you dolt. That's a mighty salty reaction for something that is plainly visible in the only place you should be checking.

yeah he posted it akleady
and that is not a proper mod:

>yeah he posted it akleady
No, he posted a lewd armor mod. There is also a nude mod on Nexus, as he mentioned in .

Can anybody explain what the fuck NECRO FIRE is? Why does fire become necro fire when water douses it?

So divinity original sin was one of my favorite games.

Started up the 2nd and just not having fun for some reason.

The plot just doesn't seem interesting.
the characters don't seem too interesting but party dialogs are a work in progress so it may improve.
inventory is still a clusterfuck of a mess.
Those collars you get are a eyesore.
The first town is a lot less interesting than previous first town. No murder mystery, no grave to flaming skeleton cave, no cheesy marketers in front of taverns, no cheese vendor, etc.

I picked classic mode and doding very poorly with battles. can't kill those fucking flesh golems with 9999 action points ugh

No there is none

Waiting for the inevitable console port. First game was one of the best in the past decade.

Yeah there is. Here's a hint though. It's not actually CALLED a nude mod, so you might have to read upwards of 3 or 4 different mods that talk about being sexy before you find it.

I haven't tried it and I'd need to see evidence of drastically improved mechanics before I do. The first one was alright, but far too easy to break, far too early into the game, and leaned really heavily on the tired old "magic is better than everything" trope.

No clue why so many rpg's do this?
Non human companions are almost always better and simply more interesting.

but melee characters were the best damage dealers in the game

>have zombie/leech trait
>hit someone
>contaminate all the blood that spills out
>does more damage
>also heals me

undead race FUCKING WHEN

Your persistence had me go check myself.

It looks as bad as I recall, but it is indeed still there.

Does anyone want to play enhanced edition?

I pirated it tho, so only lan with tunngle

Even if that were true it'd still be irrelevant, because a monster at 0 HP and a monster permanently CC'd are both effectively dead. A magic focused character can do the latter across multiple enemies, often every enemy, and often on his very first turn while still having a ton more in the way of utility.

that's ignoring the fact that a martial character can still have every good spell and every good martial ability by about halfway through the game.

yes there it is
really bad one

That feel when cheesing bosses with grenades

Dude. He has no eyes. NO. EYES.

>undead
>immune to poison and shit
You know what I'm going to do right away? Walk into the middle of enemies, cast a giant poison cloud, and then use fucking phoenix dive. Bonus points for bless/holy fire/infectious flame combo.

I think I just teleported Braccus into magma.

>yes there it is
No, that's a skimpy armor mod that explicitly claims
>Does not contain nudity, only skimpy outfits,

However, it is the same uploader who did the nude mod. Just a different mod in question.

There are two bonus effects that interact with standard surfaces: bless and curse. Blessed water/blood/steam/fire heals you and gives you some kind of bonus. Holy fire sets your fire resist to 150%, for example, which allows you to heal from fire damage. Cursed water/blood/steam does nasty shit to you. For example, necrofire burns FOREVER unless you bless the surface/yourself to revert the status effect or die. Cursed blood makes you diseased, cursed ice freezes your right away etc.

Jew here, debating on having to spend $45 now or wait until some inevitable winter/Christmas sale.

Also, this is Early Access, I am obliged to wait until I know when the full campaign and will be implemented (Q1 2017 they said?).

If you're a jew, why not just pirate the final game?

>Even if that were true
It literally is true.

Magic is obviously great to CC enemies, but when it comes to actually removing targets melee is what gets the job done to a huge degree. That's why you have multiple types of character in your party.
