The premise does fall apart when you take into account that Alessa was gone at the end of the first Silent Hill and became a fusion with Cheryl who became Heather. Silent Hill 3 was pretty much the cult trying to use her again to resurrect their god through Heather.

A Priest as the protag of a Silent Hill game is a really cool idea but that sounds like a bad execution.

I think a better idea would be monsters that prey on the insecurities a Priest might have. Doubt in the existence of God, misgivings about the Church's policies or behaviour, etc. Monsters that allude to these things could be like gangly humanoid figures locked in a position of prayer, large blobby monsters leading around small childlike monsters on chains, etc. The Priest wrestles with these feelings without the game but ultimately he comes out on top with his faith intact.

Very true. Alessa's story was that she became the unwilling victim to the cult's beliefs. Silent Hill 1 & 3 had the town manifest into twisted versions of what she saw. Dahlia was the real bad guy.

And Valtiel is basically Pyramid Head without the pyramid head. Not saying he is but his model has the same hands, the belts on his back, and also that pipe looking thing sticking out on his right leg. Yeah they reused PH's model for 3.

Pyramid Head is James's personal manifestation of guilt, keyword personal. So, in the form he takes in SH2, should be only for James.

In SH3 however, Valtiel is hinted to be connected to Pyramid Head, and is possibly the same "entity" but it has a different purpose in this game because it's appearing to Heather rather than James.

Part of the problem is they generalize all dimension theorists as just one group; people think it's multiple dimensions despite people having provided valid theories about it being dimensions in the layers sense. It's sad, but I guess they just didn't want to be known as only a horror studio which I can respect, though I secretly hope they make a Siren 3 eventually or at least port 2 to PS3/4. Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.

SH2-4 do not support Xinput gamepads. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.

James drives a 1977 Pontiac Ventura for instance.

However, Sh3 re-uses a lot of those same car models making them very anachronistic. I'm not sure if's mean to date SH3 at all. The Ventura returns, with new textures.

Sanitarium and the motel are one of the best localization of all SH, also they recreated the town nicely.

It's likely they meant for 1 to take place in the CURRENT YEAR of 98. However, they didn't want 3 to be too far into the future, so they also made it the CURRENT YEAR and then simply implied that 1 took place further in the past than it did.

HC at least looks and sounds decent, does not lag and crash all the time, plus has somewhat sensical controls. And while it's story is a mix of The Movie and pure idiocy, it at least has cohesive plot, unlike DP that changes its mind and clothes depending on the ending.

Also, Akira Yamaoka's music and audio has been the bread and butter of the series since day 1. You can feel the lack of it in the DP.
