I like doing quickplay because I have low self esteem IRL and sometimes I run into games with really low level players and they compliment me when I heal them as Mercy.

Clearly not enough. He can still shred tanks like butter. I'm not sure of the exact damage per second he puts out while an enemy has discord, but I'm betting it's one of the best in the game next to Tracer and Reaper.

Zen doesn't carry the team, your Lucio does. You're there to hang back and help, nothing more.

he does max ~90 per shot and 2.5 shots/sec, and thats without discord
so yes aside from the shotguns and bastion he probably has the best sustained dps in the game

Zenyatta is for triage and shotcalling with discord. Lucio is for maintenance and push power. Run them both for maximum ult cockblocking.

It isn't, seeing as every tryhard team in comp already runs a mandatory Zen/Lucio team. In terms of which is objectively more useful to the team on the whole, you'd be a fool to pick Zen over Lucio. His AOE heal too fucking valuable.

Zenyatta is a damage character with a heal and a counter ult instead of a damage ult. In practice he is a projectile mcree with lower damage output, no anti flanker options, and less consistency in exchange for a hybrid support skillset

Funnily he is one of the best balanced characters atm
