you think because youre studying in some field with a tough college course that youre gonna have loads of free time afterwards? thats not how it works mate. as you get older youre gonna realise that everyone, from a guy pushing a broom in mcdonalds to a renowned laywer, all work their bollox off, in fact if the lawyer wants to truly excel in their field, theyll work harder with far more stress than most. and all you get at the end of it is a better selection of cars, homes and neighbours

take it from me, my wife works in forensic psychiatry and im a broadcast engineer, we have a nice house in the suburbs of a major european city. we live pretty well, the neighbours are decent enough, my kid(s) will go to a good school, crime rates are low

you know what the difference between us and the average dole scum is? we work, and we got to choose where we live, rather than getting a free house of the council somewhere. and everytime we wanna have another kid, we have to work out the costs and budget. dole scum have no such worries. a maccy d's employee can afford to rent an apartment with a friend somewhere maybe, then if they find a partner they can pool their resources, such as they may be, and get a slightly nicer apartment with slightly quieter neighbours

at the end of day, you get back what you put in, but we're all in the same rat race, some of us are just on prettier tracks

It absolutely is. It's just that love isn't a conquering force that fights everything off. Marriage helps financially. It means you can insure your spouse, it means you can help take care of them. Love is something that slowly gets chipped away by life and financial distress is a big part of that. Common law marriage is a thing in many places but requires you to live together for around a decade.

College is different here. What you mean by college is University and no shit will I have to work while im there since the cost of living+fees is crazy high for a student.
