Am I missing something?

Hey. There's not that much RNG in chess.

Is solitaire a puzzle?

...

No backgammon, no deal

fucking newfags

Yes. There is only one game there. One game and three puzzles.

What about picross?

are the mods asleep?

chess is a sandnigger game

Picross is true patrician choice

Was. Europeans changed it considerably.

why are go stones so appealing?

Because they look like delicious smarties

>Europeans changed it considerably.
nope, they changed the names which was retarded.
queen fighting beside king? pff.
>muh strong independent woman

Europeans changed it considerably.

Not that much, really. Looking at chessvariants.com/historic.dir/shatranj.html most pieces move the same as in European/International Chess. It's just the ferz/"general" piece that's much different from Queen and Elephant that's different from Bishop.

Chess variants like Shogi are more diverged from the Indian Chaturanga than Chess is from Shatranj or Chaturanga.

>European trying too hard

Still pretty solid changes along with rich history of being played in Europe. It's not the same game that was borrowed from sandniggers.

funfact: chess is the only one that would work as an action game

No go?

it's the same, just names are different

>yurocucks

The page linked lists the differences. It's not the same at all.

>no initial double move for pawn
>no castling
>no stalemate condition
>no en-passant

All those make it completely different though

Replace sudoku with picross/hanjie

objectively fucking correct

Crosswords are SHIT.

Minesweeper > Sudoku > Chess >>>>>>>>> Crossword

minesweeper is the shit

The looks like the spergiest crossword I've ever seen, and it best be cryptic

Backgammon is one of the single greatest board games of all time.

Look at this clean board.

Crosswords are shit. They rely too much on outside knowledge.

>nothing from Gipf project
>no Hive
>no Six
>no Poker, or any other card game relying on bluffing to work

>Minecraft

The general name for those puzzles are nonograms, and they are a good choice as well.

Damn you guys are slow

I like playing minesweeper but fuck off, it's too vulnerable to randomness. If Minesweeper could recognise when no more mines could be identified with reasoning it would be worthy.

At it stands I would replace either it or crosswords with nonograms/picross. It's a question of design tightness, not just fun.

I got a Minesweeper for my phone and started playing it whenever traveling/waiting etc

Fuck that game seriously, after probably 100 hours total, it just comes down to RNG too often

There needs to be a new mode or something where it recognizes that you're faced with a 50/50 or something

Those are pretty fucking great. Solving a massive 50x50 one is very satisfying.

Pretty much exactly this, That said, there's a lot more depth to the game and ways to identify mines that are immediately apparent, and it's still fun enough to revisit. But it's not one of the greats.

It kind of freaked me out when I realized that by using the number of mines left you could solve where mines had to be, and the number of situations that could be solved by it

That was the only big revelation I made while playing though, and it still comes down to RNG too often

No its just a yugioh derivative series

Initially I didn't beleive that trick would be pragmatic, but it was very heartening when I learnt that it turns up results in a lot of situations. Working back from many tiers of logical [only two can be here, ergo none are here so click click click, aha now there's three there] is key most of all.
