Shoguns got the shaft compared to the other guns in Resurrection since they only get 6 bullet slots instead of 8 like the other guns. They also take a big OP penalty when using the Super Range sniper bullets.

One thing to keep in mind with Resurrection is that you can make any gun fire any kind of bullet. Shotguns also favor crush damage over pierce so you'll do more damage using Radials and Bombs. Their spread shots are good, but their damage is based on proximity to the target, so you have to be ontop of monster to get the most out of them. Here is a quick bullet working on the IOD principle.

A lot of it will depend on if you enjoy the anime artstyle and though monster hunter didn't have enough story.

For its part, GE won't have you faffing about doing gathering quests and running a farm. You'll get to the fights a lot faster but the starting missions will make you fight the same mook monsters until the game opens up.

Gameplay is a big adjustment though. In MH you have to respect the monster and wait your turn depending on your weapon. In GE you can go all out and the game is designed to be played that way.

I can never decide whether the hitboxes are good or bad in this game. Some of them are really fucking wide, especially anything to do with sariel.
On the other hand they are accurate in painful ways causing you to have a hard time hitting weak points because you clip a wing tip or something on the way.

Every time I glance at info online for these games I get the impression I'm retarded and doing everything wrong. At least the game is easy enough so far it doesn't seem to matter.
I'm at difficulty 8 in GER and basically only use buster blade.
I only realised control units for devour were an actual thing in difficulty 7.
I've been using a blast gun the whole game and only realised I could oracle reserve in difficulty 6.
Everything I read online says guns are OP and make melee useless or something but I can't seem to get them to do damage to anything without a fucking massive waek spot right in the middle of them like quadriga or gborogboro.

I'm using it more as a way to describe the projectile rather than what element it is. Most people still have no idea what radial means.

They all share the common theme of hunting monsters (DD as much) but its more comparable to MH than anything else. Upgrading is identical, no armor as it is a stat tied to your shield, and it focuses on switching between your gun and melee weapons. Also there's bullet crafting. You can make them do crazy shit too.

I only have the Burst Alphamax Alisa, which is my favourite of the Alisas. I thought the Ciel one was super nice when it was revealed but I hadn't played GE2 at the time so I didn't want to get it considering the price.

Sounds pretty fun. Might consider picking it up. Honestly it sounds similar to Freedom Wars which was really fun.

How do you guys level up the Blood Arts? I start from top to bottom maxing out all the Tier 1 Arts first, then moving to the next tier starting from the top again.

Tatsumi ironically has the highest survivability out of the three, but that's offset by his low damage

Brendan has the lowest survivability bust the highest damage

I just use whatever Blood Arts I like. Things level up as they go.
When it comes to purposely leveling them though, I start with whatever sounds the most interesting.

They become easier to level the higher the difficulty you are, just use whatever you want.
At diff 15, you can level a black blood art lvl 4 in 2 missions of just beating up cocoon maidens.

Wait until rank 15 ouroboros. Just whack his ankles and you'll max out a level in one run.

While working through the Difficulties I used whatever blood art I liked the best and they leveled up naturally.

Once you're in D15 there is a solo Ouroboros mission you can grind to level the rest.

Actually, the more bullets you use the less damage the shot actually does. I think it's like 10% less. So, it might be best to stick with what you got.

This is true if you don't use modifier bullets.

However, having a compound bullet has the advantage of letting you dump your OP faster than firing basic bullets one by one. If you want to keep gun use to a minimum and just want to get rid of excess OP, this isn't a bad choice.

If you actually played the game you'd know that even they aren't exactly invincible to everything but God Arcs, they're just the things that kill them faster and more efficiently. God Eating is fucking useless because the Oracle Cells that disperse after death of an Aragami form a new one.
So unless you can nuke the whole planet at once multiple times, nothing works.

Kil the aragami, devour the core then you have no more aragami, thats why hannibal was so dangerous.

Im pretty sure nuking them isnt going to do shit, you need to have a god arc with a bias factor in order to dispose of the core. The whole point of the second arc in geb is about updating the bias factor in the god arcs because the hannibal kept regenerating in seconds. Even then the oracle cells eventually reform into a new aragami but atleast you get some breathing room.

Read the last part of Killing Aragami doesn't do anything but erase that particular beast. The Aragami dominate the world, if you kill thre,e more will form, if you kill seven hundreds, more will form. Aragami are like air, it increases just as fast as it decreases.

Ironically Johannes's plan of resetting the planet was the sure-fire way to dispose of all Aragami once and for all.

Are you talking about chip modules? I'm pretty sure you have to do a few of Ciel's episodes to unlock them for use. Then after that the more you use a gun the more you unlock chips.

Try moving them right, set condition "on hit", then save.

Unless you get the core, they would get up after a while. It's kinda why you have to go with the God Arcs for most part.

Yes they are. Considering how dashing have no i frames, the hitboxes got to be pretty good to let you do things like sliding under the vajra claw paw slap. The borg camlann even have blind spots in his tail sweep attack. Also i cant think of any aoe attack where the hitbox doesnt match the visuals.

From what videos I've seen the combat feels really...."floaty", like, there's no weight to anything at all. I'm a big 3rd person action RPG fan but honestly if nothing has weight to it and it just feels like I'm slashing at thin air then it's kind of a deal breaker.

I did end up watching the anime and I adore the setting, but gameplay is ultimately what's most important. Like, monster hunter had weight to it, in that if you slam a monsters head with a blade it makes a "clunk" feeling and the monster can recoil. I don't think I've seen something like that in god eater.

Enemies do stagger though, if you hit them in a weak spot there is a huge chance they will and if you do while they are attacking you can cancel it, thats the trick with assault infinite bullets, you can stagger them because you can keep hitting their weak spot and cancel them.

It happens all the time, just not with every single hit because that would look retarded with the attack speed.

You can actually get by with what you get playing normally (as in only doing missions once) if you stick to non-elemental weapons.

I'm at difficulty 13 and I'm mostly using an upgraded Kurogane set (the very first set that you start with) and the Shirogane set (that you get from doing Gilbert's episodes).

How good are the default skills on the Kurogane equipment anyway? Is it feasible to just continue upgrading these weapon lines and just rely on bullets for elemental damage?

So what's a good Blood Art for Short Blades?
Been using Kirin Dart so far because it's amazing to just hop up and down on some Aragami and to keep stabbing them where it hurts.

But there arent iframes on steps, the burden of proof is on you. If you manage to do something like dodging a ourobouros flash inwards instead of stepping out the way then you would have btfod me.

Combine the charge time down skill with the Devouring ability that gives charge time down as well. In Resurrection the skill only reduces it by 30%, but it stacks with the Devour buff.
In GERB the reduction is 60% and much more obvious.

If you have frugal you cut 20% of the OP cost. If you have trigger happy, you cut you total ST from the OP cost.

Frugal works in the bullet editor but trigger happy does not.

The gauntlet is a massive crush bullet weakpoint - it breaks in 2 Ruin/AG and then becomes even weaker. This is the easiest and safest way to gun Hannibal since it does a lot more than shooting his head and the arm doesn't move as much as the other parts.

Any predator control that has a regular skill version will stack with it.

So I just started GE2, in Resurrection I used short swords and I liked to have so many dashes.
This time I kind of want something with more power so between long swords and buster swords, which one has the cooler blood arts and is more fun?

Buster Blade is too slow and gets interrupted easily, also has shit blood arts except for Skull Crush and Charge Crusher.

I love busters, but I feel that they're not ideal for some opponents.
Charge Crushing a Chi You to death feels damn satisfying though.

So I beat Joannes and its post credits and I'm into Difficulty 7. My question is as a newfag, what the fuck is the correct chronological order to play these again? I know this question has been answered a million times but I've since forgotten.

I heard somebody say to keep playing till difficulty ten, than move to god eater 2 and then once I've beaten that go back to finish the last 5 of the first game but I dunno how valid that is.

The chronology is the whole first game and then the second. The final part of the first game was just made later and so isn't referenced in 2.

It's just that GER was made after RB, so the new content they added (the last few difficulties) isn't referenced in 2.

Untl DF11 is where all the history stops, anything else is from resurrection, nothing will be referenced in 2 and neither anywhere. Unless some new manga or the new god eater mentions about the last arc of resurrection, dont bother unless you want to play which is not bad.

Chapters after 10 of Resurrection were made after 2, but just play Resurrection to the end, it's just silly to end a game 2/3 of the way in,finish another game and come back and finish the first

Here's a guy using it to deal over 60k per hit to +99 Crimson Orochi. If you can't get the timing down, you can also use pierce orbs to manually trigger it.

Spear doesn't have an "Optimal" BA. They all have their uses depending on how you want to play. I'm a big fan of Skyfish personally.

Personally, I find Barrier Slide the most ridiculous BA on Long Blade. It basically has hammer Iron Heart properties on a dash attack, zero stam cost, and ALSO nullifies enemy projectiles. It's broken as fuck.

That's a surprisingly low amount of enemies. Most aragami can't deal with you being above them, and for those that can, you can block at any time.

It really comes down to how you want to play spear. You can focus on 1 big hit or charge gliding once and maintaining the damage buff. Skyfish and the other combo arts worth for the latter.

I'm a fan of storm front I think its called? The infinite square combo.

If your weapon has a 4 hit combo, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th hits will get incrementally stronger.

It doesn't matter. Every gun in RB basically has the same raw damage unless they have an element bonus. Then they have a bit less.

Your only deciding factor comes down to what skills you want and that depends on what melee and shield you're using. And even then, you'll probably override the default skills with ABAs once you start rolling in them.

They dont specially have many god eaters, and this ones even being gen 1 they are veterans already at this, specially not now since the teaser seems they cant afford to lose a single god eater.
