Tmp
striker
semi-auto rifle
rocket launchers for bosses

if you actually want to beat the game in under two hours like a competent speedrunner.

for a casual playthrough
Red9
Bolt action rifle
broken butterfly
no shotgun because you're not a pussy

>tmp
lol

It does not matter. Basically any combo will work.

I like to go with:

>punisher
>nades
>bolt action rifle
>shotgun

It isn't over powered, but still pretty good.

Blacktail, bolt action rifle, riot gun, mine dart gun.

Good times. Good, good times.

Best as in OP?
Or best as in Patrician?

Why not both?

>blacktail
Objectively worst handgun.
Chews through ammo, requires consistent aim, and has only moderate utility.

Because most of the best guns are boring/distasteful.
Like the TMP, SemiAuto rifle, or riot gun.

Good taste user, I approve.

What are the best sounding weapons in the game?

>tfw resident evil 4 port on iOS

Mother of god, this shit is unplayable.

No load out turn off your shitty action game

Red 9 and bolt action rifle

Reminder that the striker is dogshit and rocket launchers are a speed-runner meme.

I personally find myself going back to the standard handgun a lot of the time i dont know why, but it just feels right.
Ill also bring broken butterfly with me for bosses.

>Requires consistent aim
This is the problem to you?

It is the gun for me. Red 9 is slow, I already am using mine dart gun so punisher is not needed to penetrate things, and default gun I do not like because I do not aim for the head but the torso arms and knees

Best dps, but you do not lie it chews through ammo. Still the best gun if you can deal with that

Why is the rocket launcher a speed runner meme, do you just spout buzzwords?

>Handgun
A mediocre performer until about halfway through the game, when you get the ultimate. Ultimate makes headshots 3x more lethal, (ohk chance goes from 10 to 30%(never go for headshots with anything else- they do the same damage as a body shot and merely result in a shitty stagger)). A true Patrician weapon.
>Punisher
Decent utility and good damage throughout the game. Damage per shot is doubled if you hit two enemies, or quadrupled with 4 if you have the ultimate, making it on-par with or even better than the other two vanilla pistols as far as DPS & ammo-efficiency goes. The puncture property also allows it to ignore shield-enemies and stagger multiple foes at a time.
Unfortunately it's a boring black box.
>Red9
Loved by old-fags that just can't take Luis' cock out of their mouths. It sports good ammo-efficiency and with the stock becomes very accurate for a pistol. It also gets points for style, if you happen to like that style. However the damage is meted out in larger chunks, which makes for less-efficient dps vs crowds due to overkill.
>Blacktail
The faster-firing competitor to the Red-9. It has greater utility due to the higher fire-rate, allowing for more staggers and more easily dealing with shields. It also is better against weaker enemies, with less overkill and an overall higher DPS. However, it is ammo-inefficient and requires fast, repeat shots on target to reach its dps potential, a feat that requires some skill.
It's also a boring black box.

Just beat the game with pic related, very fun but not efficient.
Red9, Riot gun and any revolver is the easiest option.

A TMP or broken butterfly can deal with bosses just fine (unless you're trying to get the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM time-consumption), take up less inventory space, and can actually be used on other things.
Rocket launchers are inventory bricks/merchant fodder unless you have a very specific use in-mind when you pick it up.

Tacticool.

Stylish, decent magazine size, maxed out much faster than BB, and outdoes its damage early on where it matters. Killer7 is the superior Magnum weapon.

red9 for life.

Sometimes I wish RE4 had storage boxes so we could change loadouts freely.

Maybe you shouldn't have scarfed down all the yellow herbs if you're shit at the 'You can't stuff her in a dumpster this time' sections, you fat faggot.

You can sell your shit and but it back. There's plenty of money on the game to do so.

There is no co op in RE4.

And letting Ashley die is your fault. She sticks behind you, ducks when you shoot etc.

Literally your fault.

And the camera zooms out a little when following her, and pretty much sticks to your back
also you can put her inside a dumpster most of the time

Buuuullshit

But you can't buy ammo, so you can't store ammo for weapons you don't want to carry.

And upgrading weapons costs way to much to just be buying and selling weapons willy nilly if you want to switch loadouts.

mine thrower
its such a versatile weapon

That's the one thing i loved abot RE5, you can keep all your maxed out weapons in your box ready to be used whenever you want.

If you don't main Red-9 you a bitch

Is there anything else that has such a good inventory system

>duh I can't manage the AI
>Duh da AI is bad.
nah dawg, you're the bad one, I'm not saying it is the best choice but the execution of Ashley in the game is pretty well done.

I've wanted something that combined RE4's grid system with something like Hitman Blood Money and the "carrying brief case" type setup, like actually physically carrying your attache case.

Include a tactical vest or pockets for "on the person" carry so you can still access ammo and healing items when you're in a situation you can't be carrying your case, like 7,62 High Calibre's system.

Throw in some slings so you can carry large weapons without a case with a little bit of RE5's type stuff.

But that's just my fantasy.

god that semi auto ammo box with one bullet is killing me

FIRE THE ONE BULLET, REORIENT THE SHELLS TO VERTICAL, AND SCOOCH EVERYTHING UP TO THE GRENADES TO THE LEFT AND PLACE THE GODDAMN FLASHBANG IN BETWEEN FUCK

...

Some playthroughs, I use the default handgun, shotgun, TMP, and Broken Butterfly because those are the only guns Leon uses in cutscenes (includes Separate Ways) or finds in the environment.

If I feel like cheating the loadout theme, I throw in the bolt-action rifle.

eh, the Killer7 is Leon's Iconic weapon through out the series.

its akin to Jill and the Gernade Launcher, Claire and crossbow, and Chris and his shotgun.

Matilda

or if you're a marksman:

Red 9

>heh-heh-heh-hehhhhheheh

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY INCENDIARY GRENADES? WHO THOUGHT HAVING THE ENEMIES DROP SO MANY FUCKING GRENADES WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA?
WHO NEEDS THIS MANY INCENDIARY GRENADES? I HAVE LITERALLY TEN GRENADES IN MY INVENTORY AND DON'T DO SHIT.

I thought it's the VP70/Matilda/Wingshooter that appears in all of Leon's games.

just use them on enemies you dingus

both, but Leon's ultimate weapon and the one on nearly all his art with a gun from the PS1 days onward was...

this image stir's deep nostalgia, RE2 was my first PS1 game.

this fucking theme.

youtube.com/watch?v=r1XZskhbQEw

can't believe Leon had to fight G-Birkin on his first "BOW outing" considering its still pretty much S tier in threat level.

>RE2 REMAKE is coming.

oh boy, oh boy, please, please feel like RE2.

TMP, kick and suplex.

>Silver Ghost only showed up in RE4 and Degeneration

It's such a nicer looker weapon than the VP70, and because it's a fictional weapon it feels like it belongs to him more.

I just remembered Leon gets the Deagle as the magnum for his campaign in RE6 as well.

Neat.

You're a good person user, carry on as you are.

Which is killing bosses. Thats no "meme", this word is so overused.

my favorite part about the iconic characters of Resident Evil is that they maintained their traits, more or less over the years, even their fucking Color Schemes and weapon preferences and "styles".

Leon, Dark Blue, loner, exceptionally good at taking out Ultimate Weapon style BOW's, Desert Eagle weapon of choice.

Jill, Light Blue, infiltration expert, agile, good at fighting humanoid Types, Gernade Launcher and TMP weapon of choice.

Barry Burton, Rust Red, strong and stout, weapons expert, .44 calibur revolver weapon preference

Chris Redfield, dark green/pine green, exceptionally strong and resilant, exceptional leader, Benelli shotgun preference.

Claire Redfield Cherry Red/Fire Red, exceptionally good at being captured by Umbrella affilated people, crossbow prefrence.

Ada Wong, Light Red, 9mm handgun prefrence, exceptionall at cockteasing Leon Kennedy

>suplex
>turn your back to shield and flail wielding cultist

fag

incendiaries are underrated, they're basically disposable shotguns.

I don't know why the BB gets so much praise while the killer7 gets shit on.
For 99% of the game the killer7 is better than the BB in literally every aspect including power until you can get the special upgrade for the BB, but by that point you're five minutes from the last boss so who cares?
The BB is also fucktons more expensive to upgrade, it's so expensive that it's actually cheaper to just buy a new rocket launcher before every boss.

The BB is a new game plus weapon, otherwise it's shit.

TMP is the patrician choice.

>high ammo capacity
>drops are frequent giving 30-50 bullets at a time
>damage is irrelevant for its utility in kneecapping and knocking enemies off of stuff, further conserving ammo
>exclusive upgrade gives it ridiculous dps

this brings up a point about about RE6.

for whatever reason the entirety of combat is revolved around melee grabs after a stun.

I was flabberghasted when I realized ammo drops were balanced harshly around this.

what a fucking weird way to do it in RE.

>exceptionally good at being captured by Umbrella affilated people
kek

so.. Sherry Birkin.

she's effectively Immortal now, and if she were to re-inject the G-Virus she would be like Alexia Ashford.

only far, far more powerful, its ironic that she and Jake Mueller, are the two most powerful RE protags, and they were the Children of two RE Villians, with... similar powers.

It's literally the best weapon in the game senpai

youtube.com/watch?v=QLj2ZUbP1Ew

RE Themes are god tier.

>TFW colorblind.

>Magnum ammo
>No magnum.

TMP only

STAAAAAAAAAAAAAARSSS

youtube.com/watch?v=qUzaybvfLiU

Can't agree. The cost is nice, but when considering maxing out and how rare magnum bullets are. Getting the most "bang" for your buck is just a better call. And the BB offers that.

I think I've played Resident Evil 4 25 times through and maybe had Ashley die a handful of times at most throughout my many runs on professional or normal.

She constantly sticks behind you, ducks when you shoot, stops and comes when you tell her too.

>Best Villain has Best Theme

>he's dead forever

youtube.com/watch?v=aBJzrkFUot0

Capcom even knows how cool he is to us, and yet they just kill him off in some dumb fight in volcano.

>goes to the Arkley Mountain incident at midnight with sunglasses on

>none of his teammates question this.

BB only out does the Killer7 if you plan on doing NG+ though. BB's exclusive comes way too late in the game so it never trumps the Killer7 in power on a regular NG. Although honestly you don't even need a magnum in this game. The only thing worth using one on is U3 if you ask me. Maybe Salazar if you want to save time but you could also keep the free rocket and use it on him.

>>Best Villain has Best Theme
Yes.

You,The man

the magnum is also useful against verdugo and those huge minigun commandos on the island. the obvious benefit of the broken butterfly is that it's free and the killer 7 costs money, and even if you never upgrade the butterfly you still have something with decent firepower.

Why is RE4's weapon selection so perfect?

Remember when RE5 didn't have Sheva yet? I love Sheva as fap bait but I wonder if RE5 had been the 4.5 I wanted it to be if it didn't have the changes that came with the co-op.

What the fuck is a Zeboo?????

Sorry, I meant Zeebo

"Zeebo is a 3G-enabled entertainment and education system from Zeebo Inc. It enables users to play video games, and also connect to the Internet, communicate online and run educational applications. The Zeebo was targeted at developing markets such as Brazil, India, China and Mexico.[4][5][6] Zeebo Inc. says that the Zeebo brings "the fun and excitement of interactive entertainment and education to those who—until now—have had little or no access to such technology."

Sounds like a mobile thing like the ngage. I think that one got degeneration as a game actually

Holy shit
I actually want to play that to see how jank it gets in later parts

What are your guy's least favorite areas in the game?

Mine are

>Water place after second boulder
>Cannon place right after entering castle
>Water room
>Everything garrador
>Mines
>Lava room
>Everything Novistador
>Maze
>Most of the island

Looking back, I don't know why I like this game as I hate every part of it

The only area I dislike is the one at the end of the island where the chopper blows up everything in sight before getting shot down. Everything else is fine.

you're letting your childhood fear of the water room get the better of you. it's actually very easy compared to later parts, like that room where you need to use the wrecking ball to get through the door, and the krauser pre-battle sequence.

Holy fuck, I actually forgot both of these existed.

The beginning of the Krauser fight, the wrecking ball scene, the truck chase and the helicopter sequence are my absolute least favorite.

Not sure about you guys, but for the wrecking ball I just ran in circles and pressed the switch everytime I went around fully, shooting anyone that blocked the doors with my shotgun

>Red9 users

Our guys

Pretty much everything on the island, I loved castle/village.

>le Red9 is bad meme

As always, Cred Forums hates anything popular

it's not bad, it just does too much damage and it makes the game boring as fuck. what's the point of having a shotgun when you can just kill everything with two rounds in the chest?

I'm doing a new playthrough. I've already beaten the game on normal and professional with a pretty optimal loadout (red9, riotgun->striker, semi auto, rocket launcher for some bosses) and I want to try a fun meme loadout. Any recommendations?

Magnum-only run

Use a newgame plus save, sell everything you have and buy unupgraded killer7 or broken butterfly

I've always found the fully upgraded Red9 to be an insane gamebreaker. It's nearly a shotgun running off of handgun ammo.

Aside from that, though, it's mostly preferential. The bolt-action sniper is much stronger but also much slower than the semi-automatic. The striker shotgun is hilarious with its 100 round capacity at maximum loadout but the classic shotgun is more effective at longer distances, making it the prefered shotgun for bosses. The Broken Butterfly is best as long as you don't miss, but the Killer7 is (obviously) way fucking faster at reloading so its more forgiving.

As a general rule, I stick with older style guns as they're usually stronger. Then again, I've never managed to beat RE4 without dying so I must be doing something wrong.

I actually love all those locations you posted besides the novistador and the maze. I literally had to put the game down because I got so stressed by the invisible novistadors and wolves on my first playthrough. I also hate the cage room so much though

favorite sequence has to be the gattling gun room though

Is it possible? I might try it, just knifing everything except bosses

did a run, yes its possible but holy hell dont you dare miss a shot

and remember, not every battle needs to be fought

Does no one like the riot shotgun? I think it's pretty underrated. It's got a tight spread to it so you can use it as a mid-range weapon which is pretty sweet. Although the smaller spread makes it lose out some on it's CC ability.

>That one fucking picture in the first game with the pencil neck geek scientists and Wesker, all in white labcoats except he still has the fucking sunglasses on.
