Honestly it probably will hurt Blizzard's projections, all the poorfags that can't buy OW will start buying $2 Paladins skins and believe they're too invested to switch to OW.

Eventually though Hi-Rez will completely fuck up Paladins with some horrendous pay2win garbage that completely kills the playerbase, just like Tribes Ascend.

Not at all fucked. It's just cheap same style of overwatch. Currently 3 maps and 1 game mode. It's not bad for a "free" game to be honest, but gets a bit boring after a while.

As an overwatch player, im pretty glad this exists. It just needs to be a real competetor, and it will make both games better in the long run. Its not healthy for a game to have no serious competition, see WoW. Blizzard should have to work to keep their players, so should hi-rez. I just feel bad for smite players. Hi-Rez desperatly tries to keep it alive, but i guess thats it now, if paladins goes well.

Believe it or not, but there are still people that don't suck big corporations dick every chance they get.

It's okay, I liked it too. The open beta was pretty fun even if it was a little janky.
But I wouldn't pay money for it when they nickle and dime you for inventory spaces, new characters, opening crates. It's clearly a free to play game they tried charging $40 for. The story missions were terrible, the game was worth having included them because of skin challenges like kill 1000 shadow monsters with a skill on a 16 second cooldown.

Pretty, they took what blizzard did well, expanded it, raised the skill cap and added more features for free.

Having played a fair bit of both, they seem really different to me now, except maybe for some character designs which are extremely similar (some because of fitting the same archetype (viktor and soldier 76) , some being a bit TOO similar (Reaper and that guy which looks like Reaper but has a six-shooter) design-wise.

Gameplay-wise, they play completely different. You can spot some similarities when it comes to abilities, but almost never when it comes to ability loadout of a character. The only one that I can think of is Soldier 76/Viktor, but they literally are the most basic FPS gameplay around with shoot/grenade/sprint.

The game mode is similar, but honestly fuck it, TF2 did it first. The maps are pretty good. Only potential complaint, the maps are too samey at both sides. I don't mind that the layout is the same, but I wouldn't mind some color alteration, or some change in the map design to indicate which side is which.

Overall, I wouldn't discount it as an inferior game to Overwatch yet. The game still has its growth, both balance and content-wise to go, and I feel it can definitely become a more enjoyable game than Overwatch. Right now though, it's still rough on many aspects.

Month 1: hey this is a passable game, its very promising and with enough content and updates this could be an amazing game. There are actually some issues with this payment strategy but its early, they'll work it out

Month 4: ok yeah they've certainly established that they know what they are doing, we're in for a very sizeable update that will add more fun and interest. They're clearly working on very important issues that we've told them about

Month 8: any day now, sure they started adding cash shop items and some of these items break the balance of the game but that is to be expected with most games, i hear theres a very nice overhaul of the system, it should come quickly since many fans are getting a bit bored

Yes Dynasty Warriors has a shitton of games but they are always one step forward one step back, done so purposefully. They have admitted they don't want to make one too satisfying encase you won't be the new one next year. The Dynasty Warriors format has potential that is ironically held back by its creator.
