Yoshi licks another Yoshi's egg butt just to see haha, and as he continues to hold the lick, he leaves Yoshi's Island, and heads over to Donut Plains, never ceasing the original lick. Then he enters Boo's Haunted House, and finally releases his initial licking, retracting his tongue, where he now is free to lick Mario.

If we only look at the time Yoshi was in the Donut Plains, he never did any additional licking, because the actual lick occurred before he entered the Donut Plains, and he just continued to hold it. Ultimately, at the end of the whole excursion, there would still be only one lick.

So regardless of whether you call it a hold or a half lick, there was never any additional lick that occurred during our trek through the Donut Plains.

I think it makes sense for the camera not to be on an angle in that level, since the focus is on the door which the enemies come out of.
