What was wrong?

What was wrong?

too much grinding. also way too linear.

I'm kind of tempted to play the trilogy

I didn't like the cast of main characters besides Sazh

>not liking Fang, Hope post muh mom & based HEROOOO

Nothing it was a fun game.

I thought Snow and Serah were pretty cute together in the flashbacks

People's expectations

everything, what is with the hardcore shilling of this game the last week or so?

It was just weirdly shit.

The battle system is kind of fun I guess but literally no part of the story was interesting.

I played up until you finally get into the world with your entire party and I haven't touched the game since.

Its a Final Fantasy game. So it focused on graphics and story over gameplay and exploration.

This. Although, I didn't mind Snow too much either. Everyone else was certifiably shit.

The same people calling this game linear and melodramatic and too easy liked FFX so who gives a fuck what they think

I hated, fucking hated that it was almost a 30 hour tutorial, and that fucking auto battle was atrocious, the only fight I actually had fun with was Cid.
Lighting, was a tryhard, can't stand her.
Only character I liked was snow and the black dude. Hope was okay

Takes way to long to do anything
>takes forever to grind weapons
>takes forever to grind in general
>get blocked off from grinding whenever the game decides thats high enough
>long ass prologue
>mostly aimless nothingness for a good chunk of the game leaving you unmotivated to do anything
>takes forever to read through datalog
>no villages
>barely any npcs who say very little

The difference is, they played FFX when they were a young, impressionable kid. They played FFXIII 12 years later when they were a stubborn, angry adult.

Then why does Cred Forums obses over FFIX so much? It did all those things as well. As well as combat being slower.

more people played 13 and emulating ix is more common and bypasses the speed issue

Snow dragged the game down so much. Shiva sisters was the only redeemable part of his entire character

Nothing to break up the action. FF13-2 did what it could to remedy this by offering a few small towns, various side stories, and the casino.

The battle system had potential but there just wasn't enough depth in the fights to make up for the inability to directly control party members.

First half of the game is a tutorial.

The story could have been told a lot better.

Everything from the environments and leveling up system being a hallway.

Square-Enix syndrome according to the developers themselves.

It means everyone had ideas on what to do but nobody could ever cohesively pick a direction to go in and lead the entire team properly.

XIII is a colossal mess that was somehow successful until the third title and Square-Enix are only now in the last two years realising how much the game is loathed in the west.
