i dont know, it keeps crashing five minutes in

Fucking everyone? It was fantastic, an HD remake would be a gift.

I sure did

HELLO I AM INSTALLING A PROGRAM FOR MY GRANDSON AND HE SAID THE PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE COULD HELP ME:
THANKS

It wasn't a bad game. Kinda fell off around 2/3rds or so when you start getting lots of guns, since the targeting was pretty shitty, but otherwise was a fairly unique game.

I've got it running on 7. Just have to get this patcher thing.

This. The nailgun was fine but once you get to the mall and have to rely on the revolver to survive the game becomes somewhat boring.

I did. I love the normalfag tears when something "controversial" comes out. Speaking of controversial games has anyone else watched the congress Night Trap bullshit.

I'm glad they don't get that buttmad anymore.

That is incorrect sir.
For help with matters like this click this or

>It wasn't a bad game.

Yes, it was.

A silly grimdark story and awful stealth mechanics, it relied entirely on the novelty of brutal violence.

>A silly grimdark story

Ever watch horror movies? Or hell even non horror flicks like Battle Royale?

A lot of films, games, books, etc have grimdark stupid plots.

>and awful stealth mechanics

0/10

I've played games with worse stealth mechanics like Dishonored.

This game was awesome. I really felt like I could feel the wire slicing through someone's meat.

Also the insane asylum guys were fucking hilarious

>A lot of films, games, books, etc have grimdark stupid plots.

Okay? What's your point? It's okay that it's shit because there's a lot of other stuff that's also shit? Horror and dark doesn't automatically mean stupid. Have some fucking standards.

>I've played games with worse stealth mechanics like Dishonored.

Now you are being really stupid. Dishonored, for all it's flaws, is a much better stealth game than Manhunt.

But that's beside the point, Manhunt still has shit stealth mechanics even if there are other stealth games with worse mechanics. Manhunt was released alongside the likes of Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid and Thief, it was woefully below par for the era.

The second one didn't really deserve an AO rating

>Now you are being really stupid. Dishonored, for all it's flaws, is a much better stealth game than Manhunt.

No it isn't

In Manhunt I know when I'm in darkness and I can actually listen to the foot steps of my enemies and can make decisions based on that. (I can also look left and right around corners)

>Metal Gear Solid
>Stealth game

Damn you're fucking stupid and don't shit about stealth games lmao

>Horror and dark doesn't automatically mean stupid. Have some fucking standards.

I bet you're the type of guy that doesn't like John Carpenter films

Actually, I love a lot of John Carpenter's early horror work, mostly because he was really good at execution.

There's a difference between something like Seven, an artfully crafted dark thriller, and Hostel, torture porn shit.

>missed manhunt
A complete remake would be a gift

Manhunt definitely isn't Hostel tier

I've seen two of that guys movies - Cabin Fever and Hostel - I hated them both. Manhunt is by Rockstar, they have a certain gravitas and love for that 70's style of horror movies like Carpenter (The soundtrack is a love letter to that effect) or Black Christmas.

Killing Ramirez with one shot from shotgun was pretty amazing tho.

A remake could actually do this game a lot of favors. Biggest thing it could do would be to somehow remove most of the guns from the later parts of the game and keep the emphasis on stealth, which could be improved as well.

Are you shitting me?

Manhunt is not Carpenter style horror, it's that cheap exploitation shit that Eli Roth is all about with his crappy films.

There isn't an gameplay mechanic based around how brutal and graphic you want the murders to be because the gamemakers appreciate the craft of horror, it because they just wanted to shock people.

Reminder that Manhunt is about doing things you don't want to, and the shooting galleries are there for a reason

That moment with Piggsy in the burnt out house was some heart beat raising shit. Something Roth could never do.

You know there's a reason they don't show you the killing outright and do their best to obscure it with shaking and grainy footage, right?

the awkward controls are its main issue

if rockstar weren't such retards this game would've been a stealth classic

>You know there's a reason they don't show you the killing outright and do their best to obscure it with shaking and grainy footage, right?

They don't really obscure it. they make it seem more authentic by introducing an "amateur style" effect. Remember the plot is you are being forced to make snuff videos. You still see the people being killed because that's the whole point.

You know they did that because the game was originally denied a rating?

Yes, but you don't seem to understand why they wrote a plot around it

Things don't happen by accident. Especially in a video game with coders that need hundreds of hours to get everything right

You're thinking of Manhunt 2.

Or maybe you are thinking of The Punisher?

The visual effect on the kill cam in the first Manhunt doesn't obscure shit.

>play with mic support and headphones
>max mic sensitivity
>when enemies get close you have to literally hold your breath
This game was great, and the mic support made it even better.

manhunt 2 got pussy-censored, but the first game went all the way

The steam sale made me want to replay this. Is there anyway with only. PC and oldPS3 (NON BC) to play this? Or the 2nd one?

I understand why they wrote the plot.

I don't really care if you have a point to your little story. Gone Home had a point. The cape shit Hollywood shits out every other week has a point. Even Eli Roth maintains that all his movies have a point. Having a point is not enough and it's especially not enough when your point is "You love all the killing, don't you?"

What matters is execution. Even something with no point can be good if it's executed well. As far as stealth game execution goes Manhunt is subpar.

[Rockstar Games] Manhunt - Dilogy [R.G. Revenants]

Comes with both games

But you thought Metal Gear Solid was a stealth game

And you defended Dishonored, one of the worst stealth games ever made

Chaos Theory is my favorite stealth game, but Manhunt has enough style that I'd easily put it in a top 5.

>As far as stealth game execution goes Manhunt is subpar.

your shit taste in games is subpar

manhunt had a point alright; but it's probably not one you agree with, so I guess it makes it bad for you

Never played Manhunt but I want to buy it.

Is the stealth similar like the GTA San Andreas stealth missions? You know, with two levels of lighting and shit. I liked that

Manhunt uses a similar engine to the GTA's, but your character has faster and slicker movements. There is a nice light/dark stealth effect as well very similar to what you saw in that San Andreas mission

You're nowhere as stiff as CJ and you move way faster

that sounds great, thanks bro

I got bored of this game about 75% through. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, it just became too easy for me.

I did play Manhunt 2 (uncensored version) all the way through though.

I would jizz my pants if they announced a 3rd but they never will.

playing this game as a 13 year old was a blast.

>tfw you have access to levels of violence that weren't available to you before as a kid

There was no better feel.

I remember playing this when I was 10 and my mom saw how I was suffocating a dude with a plastic bag and beating him to death. Needless to say, I got grounded and she forced me to ''delete it''. Ofc I just deleted the icon and still sneaked sometimes on the PC just to play it

It seems instead of forming valid opinions, we shitpost instead.

The first Manhunt is probably the one game that's edgy done right.

Pretty amazing game

Anyone playing it on win10?

I am.

>Fucking incredible sound design
>Great stealth game play
>Decent amount of challenge
>Motherfucking Brian Cox

>This is not a good idea

Monkey see - monkey die.

>tfw 8 year old me actually sent letters to the addresses listed on the game's manual expecting them to send me real snuff movies

>hold the button longer to see a SUPER GRODY death animation
>great stealth gameplay

yeah the problem with thief was that it wasn't more like garbage pail kids

Did you bitch this much about Tenchu you fucking ape?
