gas yourself and stick to shitty piece of plastic toys called consoles.

...

>not 1440p 144hz screen
Anything other then that is a waste of money today

>no poptarts

>amd
i like amd because nvidias pricing is fucked
i have a benq 1080p monitor atm
can a 480 run that?

Get the display, but wait for Vega because I don't think the rx 480 can power 1080p at 144hz.

you should rather get the benq xl2411z monitor
it has ULMB which takes the blur away
also get the ulmb tool from blur busters if you buy this monitor

no, make sure the monitor you get is compatible with lightboost and use 120 fps

or

get a g-sync monitor since that has lightboost 2.0 but of course nvidia

144hz looks like total shit by its self, you need lightboost for CRT like strobing.

forgot link

blurbusters.com/zero-motion-blur/lightboost/

ULMB > lightboost

you are right but that shits expensive.

Im probably just going to get the 480
I wish newegg had the 8gb MSI version but whatever
Ill leave 144hz for a while later
60hz 1080p should be fine for now right?

> TN

/vomits

whats TN nigga, i never really got into monitors and shit
stuck to videocards and how to actually get the computer working
not getting that monitor anywho

yes

its just video games

ips screens have better viewing angles and shit

The monitor is a TN panel. You can't get 144hz monitors in anything else for a reasonable price though. Colors can be a bit washed out but it's fine.

There are downsides though, don't ever expect dark games to look great on them.

And if it's not using a bypass board you're going to have high input lag.

What is wrong with Acer?

>TN panel

Get an IPS.

View angles are an issue on a monitor you're looking at straight on. You're a smart cookie.

wew
total is down to 412 bucks as opposed to 800 so im okay with not getting 144 right now

> Colors can be a bit washed out

> He thinks that's the only issue with TN

I just threw up a bit

vertical viewing angles are horrible on tn panels

ips panels are worth it just for that

i dont have a broom handle up my ass and often sit at angle positions

I've owned 2 nerd. They're fine. I prefer the qnix qx2710 I have now as it's the best of both worlds, but you're an elitist piece of shit if you think it's that bad.

>can a 480 run that?
Most likely not
It's meant for 1920p gaming and can't really do anything better then that
My R9 390 on the other hand is pretty solid for that

>1920p gaming

You're an idiot if you think a 390 can handle 1440p 60fps let alone 144fps.

nothing is wrong with acer he's just being an elitist

do not fucking buy the meme that is ips panels. holy shit do i still fucking regret it.

$800 for a fucking 1080p monitor & a graphics card. I wish I had money like that to spend.

>Not on displaylag

into the trash. 10ms or bust.

Literally what is wrong with IPS. I've had no issues with mine except it shuts off when the screen is dark enough so save power.

In some very dark games like Miasmata it won't even let me play at night without torches. I can't fucking find the option to turn it off either.

the screen itself is fantastic for anything other than playing video games imo. the darks are way too good and make things too dark in certain situations. mind you this is with my screen color set to the perfect settings.

what about LG monitors? I use one, they have good colors

>AUD
rip

Spent it on a 1070 or something. Bit 144hz is the shit

Just went through window's color correction stuff to see what my settings were. Any time I moved a slider the screen autocorrected to the perfect setting. Feels pretty good.

Unless you know, you want to intentionally make the screen be incorrect. Then it might not be good.

>the darks are way too good
>IPS

user, get at least a 27" monitor.

You'll never get perfect calibration using windows. you need tools for it.

go look into ct spawn from b doors on dust 2. you literally can't on an ips monitor. friend with one has the same issue.

user, it literally does not allow me to change the settings. I think it's calibrated just fine since it all looks pretty much perfect.

>go look into ct spawn from b doors on dust 2. you literally can't
Yeah that's because IPS displays suck at contrast.
They're famously bad with blacks. Also backlight bleed.
The point is the reason you can't see isn't because it's good at dark, it's because it's bad at it.

>that monitor
Fucking hell dude....

>TN
>there are actual AUTIST retards in this very thread who DEFEND that shit

Just fucking end your life right now. Also make sure you eliminate any offsprings you have made, you musn't contaminate the genepool.

i don't get all the hate of TN. i have a TN and an IPS and my TN has better colors than the IPS.
the only problem i have with it is the viewing angles, it's not much of an issue.

>i-it works fine for me!
kys

>1080p
>in the current year
I can't even... in the current... I... can't... even

Is the picture quality really that big of a difference between an TN and IPS? I just get the feeling it is an exaggeration.

480 is fine, get a better monitor with higher resolution, like 4k. you can buy a second 480 later

So when the "master race" isn't derailing threads pertaining to console games, they're infighting?

OP is clearly not master race. He would do his own research and not be arguing about it on Cred Forums. When I make purchases related to my own PC, I don't check with Cred Forums to see if it's okay, because I know what's good and what's not.

I also have 144Hz

It's not worth it unless you play lots of competitive FPS

go for 1440p IPS instead

>that shipping price

ouch

Pulling a trigger won't send you to checkout

I don't get it

Acer is crap senpai. Trailer park tier garbage

But Acer is the only one making gamer monitors at 1440p/144 gsync/freesync IPS.

What the fuck is up with that shipping? Will it arrive on an armored limo with perfect 10/10 virgins inside?

I think it includes the import fees & taxes.

>TN Panel

No but you have the right idea getting a 144hz monitor.

>1080p
>in the current year
buy the biggest, highest resolution, preferably IPS panel you can afford. A good monitor will last you 10 years.

>can a 480 run that?
yes. A 480 will max out most games at 2560x1440 and you will never have to drop settings below high settings in more demanding games.
