You won't be able to level blood arts that high at the start anyways - the amount you get drops off dramatically after a bit.

Any specific mission thats doable for my current skill setup thats pretty mediocre so far? What exactly have you been doing for the past 5 chapters? You should of been able to find tons of level 10 weapon/shield/gun parts with multiple skills including frugal and trigger happy.

Just playing through it without giving a damn about skills. Its easy enough anyway, just now at rank 15 Im starting to get problems with some quests. Oh, and I was pretty unlucky so far, I have one arc with a lv.9 Trigger Happy, and Im not sure if I want to wast 2 slots for frugal.

Try to do the ge2rb missions to get aragami crystals 28 and 32. Those are both made into useful all-purpose upgrade parts.

That's where I'm aiming. Weirdly enough this only happens with sniper bullets. When I use Blast gun pierce bullets I can get weakpoint hits every time.

I've never had trouble shooting the eyes. Maybe it's the bullet you're using?
Just literally shoot in the mass of eyes framed between the horns.

I'll post some webms when I get back I guess. The problem is easily reproducible. It's like the eye hitbox doesn't exist and the sniper rounds just go through them.

Yeah his hitbox is really fucked up for sniper bullets. I find it better to aim near the bottom of the eye cluster. It's also a bit easier to hit if you're perpendicular to it.

Venus has the same issue. The only jelly sack I can hit reliably is the top one. shooting the legs and ass sack with snipers just ends up hitting the body.

he's one of the few enemies in the game that has resistance to any custom hdh bullet...

Sounds like the problem is, indeed the bullet, but the bullet in this case is the sniper bullet (rather than anything fancy)
Not sure how to go about fixing that other than 'use a different gun', though I wonder if something like an IOD would help...

Not using HDH. Like I said, I'm aiming the thing manually at his eye, with the crosshair over the mass of pustules.

The player character sure speaks a lot in the last few cutscenes of Rage Burst.
The special Blood Rage pact against World Closer is pretty neat too.

The main problem is how sniper bullets interact with hitboxes. You can swap them for normal shots which should hit better but then you loose out on Super Range and faster projectile speed in general. In Rage Burst you're stuck with them.

What are the best BA for short sword? I've mostly been using Sky Dancer, but sunrise is pretty nice too. Just about to get the final rank of killer bee as well.

Haven't really tried the light ground combos or the heavy aerials at all, not sure if any are worth using.

Swallow Ascent for fast enemies. Astral Dive for average/slow ones.

something like Assault is pretty easy, usually just sticking L/S short/pointblank bullets at the end of the initial shot for more damage for more dakka

Holy shit, spamming the Y dive trying to get to astral is fast as hell. I've never tried just jumping and diving nonstop. I am not sure how the damage compares overall, but its certainly fast and each dive has multiple hits.

Having the raising edge chaser for faster shit like Kyubei might be nice as well. Its annoying as hell trying to follow them.

Personally I find spiral meteor to be more useful than the astral dive variant. It's much faster and can be used even on bitches who don't stop moving.

How do duel effect weapons work? Say freeze and blaze. If the enemy is weak to one that one is the damage it does?

What about short swords or busters? They have two types of damage. Do all attacks do both, or does it depend on the combo? For example short sword seems to be slash for light, pierce for heavy. Do heavy attacks only use the pierce modifier for damage?

split damage types work differently but I've only ever seen it play out on guns. I'm assuming if it works like them, then a split damage melee weapon hitting a monster part that only takes slashing damage would do 0 crush/pierce damage and whatever slashing damage it has.

I hate how there are like 5 complete god arc sets and only like 2 with the weapons I like to use.

in GER I went with Sariel Scythe, Arbalest and Antares since they all turn silver in their final upgrades

in 2RB I went with the Kurogane set in their default colors, but replaced the Blast Gun with a V-Blst since it looked cooler and still matched the other two parts.

So what do you guys like more overall, GE2 or GER? Personally I yet have to play GER, but Im really looking forward to the predator styles and the quality of life improvements Ive read here. Its just a bummer that there are a lot less Aragami. But since Ive played GE1 for hundreds of hours on PSP back in the days Im still excited to play it on my PS4. I just want to see more of the endgame content before jumping into GER, so it might take a while until I can say which I liked more.

But GER on the whole just feels a lot better to play than 2RB. From minor things like getting all your ABAs at once, to more substantial things like all equipment based skills starting at lv10 by default.

I still think they need to properly balance things if they're going to allow multiple blood arts slot system, more expensive blood arts take up more with new skills added to that system

You can make crush bullets for your sniper (unless your using Arbalest) which will let you break Chi-You legs for easier slashing. You can also shoot their face and hands for max damage.

You don't have to get complex with the bullet editor. This recipe is good enough for breaking chi-you legs. They're super weak to crush damage.

I'm honestly not sure if the dialogue changes at all when you are female. A lot of the time I can't tell if characters are hitting on me or just being generic. The entire story with Haru was great and hes directly asking me stuff as if I were a lesbian or a dude anyways.

Even the answers you can give are pretty generic to the point its hard to say if you are just a dude grossed out answering, or actually a girl.

None the less, it was a great story line and I'm dissapointed it didn't last longer. Haru's a bro and I'd use him all the time if not for his support being useful.

I'm at 58 hours on Difficulty 13, story completion in the 90s I think, out of 124 if I remember right. It's a long ride alright, and from what I hear GE2 is even longer.
If you didn't know though, you can use the import save data thing to change to a male character. As long as you hit continue you won't lose anything.

I picked the FeMC in GER and I'm not seeing anything particularly jarring. Most scenes were pretty gender neutral and Kota will comment in scenes where gender changes something e.g. he says lucky you for being a girl when he isn't allowed inside Shio's room when they're dressing her and later on when he's gathering women for his Lovely Lindow Lure scheme he asks you to join because you look pretty nice too.

They get most of their screen time after finish GE2 arc since thats when you get everyone except secret missions Yuu. You can use Alisa and Kota most of the GE2 arc but that is, then after GE2 you will be able to use Soma and Lindow.

So I'm playing GER and I'm at rank 5. Starting to get kinda tired of doing the same attacks over and over. Been using hammer, used long blade for rank 1-2, and scythe for 2-3. Also hammer seems to suck at hitting flying creatures more than just jump swing twice, jump swing twice, and I can't into bullet crafting. What do? On one hand I like the game, but I also fear I might get bored soon if I can't learn new combos as I level up other than just new predator devours.

You can't change a weapon's moveset in GER. That's what Blood Arts are for in Rage Burst. You man way to start messing with bullets and blaze through the game with them, or just skip over to Rage Burst.

Alternatively, look up spear if you havent. Keeping combo chains going after using Charge Glide is pretty fun, and their moveset is quite varied (but they kinda suck at air too).

Hey guys, do you have some tips or certain weapon/blood arts that you recommend to fight against fast but large enemies like Chrome Gawain, Magna Gawain, or Caligula?

I can take them out, but I'm definitely taking more damage from them than I would from most other enemies in the game. They are especially annoying during character episodes when I have to fight them with a single ally.

IRON HEART takes out all of those.
Any form of Hannibal folds to Hammer, and for the Gawains just focus on their arms/face and ROCKET BOOST after them when they run off.

I am playing RB right now, almost done with first arc, and honestly I like RES more. I already beat 1st game three times on PSP and had a blast revisiting with the whole update to devour styles (which I like more than blood arts). I like the old team mates better too, though Gil and Nana are not bad.

So how do weapons with mixed stats work? Does a Buster Sword do both crush and sunder at the same type, or do different moves do different damage?

They didn't, they weren't a god eater back then. You're getting Wonky Resonance Flashbacks during that chunk of stuff, and he never got a good look at whoever helped him's face, so you're getting inserted into the flashback instead of Whoever That Was

A buster sword with both crush and slash will apply both damage at the same time no matter what move you are using. The different moves (heavy, light, jump attack etc) applies different multipliers. So if a light attack does 1x damage, your heavy attack might be 1.2x.

Elements are different though. A weapon with two elements will always use the element that the monster is weaker to. So think of weapon with 2 elements as weapons that are adaptable to enemies.

Iron Heart's PRIMARY feature is reducing damage, so yes, it reduces damage.
It ignores getting knocked back with higher level, so if you've got L3-4 you can literally just smash almost anything all day long and not give a single fuck.

What skills do you guys put on your party members?

I'm getting to difficulty 12 or so now, and my party members are starting to get shit on when multiple Aragamis are in the area.

I've read from another thread that Firm Stand + More Restore items is a good combo, so I've been using that for some of my characters instead of HP up + Damage Cut combo. Do you guys have any good suggestions for skills to try? Do you build complete different skills for 1st gen shooters or anything?

Also, the burst/devour related skills, are they worth using at all? It seems to me that NPCs really don't devour or stay in burst that much. Would those skills encourage them to devour more? Also, do the link transfer related skills encourage NPCs to transfer to you more? I notice that Alisa and Ciel transfers more often than others, so can I build them to transfer even more often?

Lastly, are there anything I can do to have my healer party members heal me when I'm not critically wounded? A lot of the times, my health is too low to take another hit but still not low enough for them to heal me. Are the healing skills just useless generally then?

Only consistent healer in GE is Kanon, everyone else only heals when you're too low on health.

Some of them have personal skills that work well in late game, like Brendan's boosts attack and defense in ape escape, Livie's has a built-in radial heal etc.
Haru has one that makes him even squishier, so I'm not sure why that's the last thing he gets.

I've found bringing at least one squad member with bind is helpful. Alternatively bring it yourself.

Keeping HP Up and Damage Down upgraded is good enough for most Difficulties. If you get into perilous challenge or guys like Crimson Orochi, you need to swap them out for Firm Stand and increased recovery items.

Firm stand can be a mixed bag though. NPCs are usually good enough to heal back up when hit but sometimes they get wombo comboed and insta killed.

They already got a lot of mileage out of Blood Arts and Predator Styles were a great change. They just need to figure out how to mix them together without it getting out of hand. You also forget that bullets are a big draw with GE and they can always expand on them.

GE is in a good place, it just needs more. If I had to change something I'd tone down the damage so the fights last a bit longer. 10-15 minutes was always my golden zone for Monster Hunter fights but in GE I get so overpowered that I usually end fights before the 5 minute mark, or before the 7th on multi Aragami missions.

Tails are generally weak to slash. You can also hit basic soft spots like faces or unarmored limbs.

I've primarily, lately, anyway, been using Julius to get a quick lvl 3 burst at the very start. Combine that with lvl 10 (B Melee Attack, B Mid-Air Melee Attack, B Defense, and B Automatic Recovery) and lvl 10 (Burst Duration, Defense, Reduced Guard Damage, Melee Attack, CQ Attack, MA Specialist, Combo Master), I pretty much shit damage using it (~1000 to 1500 on average, sometimes in the 2500 range a hit), while simultaneously having ridiculous defense and health regen. I shield when I see it but unless I'm going against a Blitz Hannibal or something on difficulty 15 or up, I don't even need to pay attention to my health. My defense is currently 1654 btw.

About the only time I get fucked is when I fall out of burst.

Use that gun of yours to make up for it.

The interesting recipes require Blood bullet editing. You need to do a character's personal story episodes as well as having higher level blast/assault blood levels.
