I always liked the hidden starts ups from holding Z. I remember getting my brother to help me hold Z on 4 controllers for one of the hidden startup noises.

Also the background music for the gamecube in the menu was just a slowed down version of the famicom disc system bootup music

I love how Xmen2 Clone Wars puts the intro after the first level (the game is booted directly to the "first" level with a random character).

if you hold Select while it's starting up the Nintendo sign disappears and the game doesn't boot til you press Select again

I really could've sworn it said Advance there

After they finished the OS they realized there were about 8 seconds before the system was ready to let you play, so they had make an intro

The problem was there was no space left to put the intro, but they managed to make that reactor scene that played aawesome... but had no audio

At that point there were about 32kb left to fit the audio so the audio team had to tweak other sounds from the system and put them together to make that epic boot screen audio fit into 32Kb of data

It's been a long time since I read about it so the ammount of bytes left might be different

I never even used the Weather Channel since my internet wasn't ever connected to the wii. Liking the News Channel music
