Why is Bioshock Remastered in a damn bundle?? I don't know about PC, but on damn Xbox 1 you can't get the remastered Bioshock without buying all three games for $60.

Now, don't get me wrong, $20 a game isn't half bad - BUT I DON'T WANT ALL OF THEM. Infinite looks good, but I don't want 2. I just want the OG Bioshock without dropping $60 fucking dollars on it.

What is this fuckery?? Thoughts?

>i dont want 2

pleb

>t I don't want 2
Best game in the series you fucking plebian

>I don't want 2

Why? BS1 is just a dumbed down remake of System Shock 2, same twist included. BS2 is an actual original story from scratch.

Ken Levine is a huge fucking hack.

Bioshock 2 is easily the best of all the Bioshock games. Better gameplay, better story, better characters, no fucking plotholes. Level design is consistently good instead of falling to shit halfway through.

Hell Levine even ripped off a ton of 2 for Infinite and yet still had to dumb it down.

You should play System Shock 1, System Shock 2, then Bioshock 2. And that's the whole trilogy.

BS1 and BS:I are shit dumbed down remakes of SS2 and BS2.

Why are you trying to buy a multiplatform game on console?

This, get them on PC and get the original versions, the HD remake ruined all the artstyle.

And 2 is the best you faggot OP.

>I don't want 2
>I don't want to duel wield plasmids and guns at the same time

>BS1 is just a dumbed down remake of System Shock 2
No, it isn't. You don't know what "remake" means, stop posting.

God I love that game, is the PC port good?

Because console gamers are normies who would eat shit like that up regardless.

2 is the best one, Infinite is the shitty one you don't want.

How did Bioshock 1 and 2 (plus its Dlc) turn out so good while infinite turned out to be total crap?

Don't you get the remastered version free if you own the original game? Or do you need all 3 anyway?

>duel

Also, is it going to be that PC owners just get the remake shoved on them anyway?

I'm still less than happy about the whole thing with Metro 2033 Reduxes completely removing the old options; I don't want a repeat.

>mfw OP doesn't want to Drill Dash

You know what I find weird. Around the time of this games release, all the faggot gayming journalists were crying about MUH BALD SPACE MARINE WHY CANT WE EVER PLAY AS SOMETHING UNIQUE!!! And so 2K Marin goes, "here you go then, how about you play as a hulking iron golem that has a mutated former human being living inside of it" and all the casuals and gayming journalists screamed "eww no that's lame, when we said no more space marines we actually just meant no white males, I want to play as a niggers, faggots and women, not anything actually interesting".

Playing as a Big Daddy was fucking amazing and underrated as fuck.

It's a reimagining. It's a spiritual successor that rips of many many elements from it's prequel, including stealing the plot and twist and just giving it a new setting and character names.

It's fantastic.

because 1 was a fluke and 2 was made by a different studio.

QUICK! Lamb isn't watching, post Big Sisters

No they are both available to buy. It's already out too, they put the new ones in my library for free but I didn't bother, the original versions look better anyways on PC. The new textures are shit.

So it is; awesome. Thanks user.

The best part about Bioshock 2 was The take on the father/daughter relationship between you, the big daddy, and Eleanor as well as all the little sisters around Rapture.

It made t really hard to harm any little sister. And don't get me started on the father who searches for his daughter in Rapture, only to become a vig daddy himself.

Wat ? Bioshock never had anything to do with bald space marine clichee, people critized Bioshock 2 for feeling almost exactly as the first one DISPITE playing as a big daddy.

Cmon, I dare you to name me 3 things Bioshock 2 improved over 1 besides the plasmid/weapon at the same time which honestly shouldve been there in the first place.

>It's a reimagining. It's a spiritual successor
Yes, it's not a remake.

*despite

>name 3 things besides the most important improvements they made

Friendly reminder that anyone who proclaims that Bioshock 2 is the best is a contrarian fuck who fell for the Bioshock Cycle. Everyone unanimously agreed that Bioshock 1 was superior in every way when Bioshock 2 came out, but now hipsters feel obligated to revise history and pretend they've always liked the sequel the most.

>No, it isn't
Levine is such a hack that he stole the twist reveal of characters almost exactly from SS2. He remade it

*improvement
I don't give a shit about bioshock but don't act like he exempted everything you think bioshock 2 improved

>Story
Bioshock > Bioshock 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Infinite

>Gameplay
Bioshock 2 >> Bioshock > Infinite

>Atmosphere
Bioshock = Bioshock 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Infinite

>Everyone unanimously agreed
Stopped reading there, your personal bias is not everyone.

2 is ok tho

play on PC, original Bioshock must cost like 10 bucks on steam

You have to pay $20 for the remastering to get the originals now

I was going to say something like this. I don't know about the cycle, but 2 was always considered the worst. Not sure why people would say otherwise now unless they're contrarians.

If it weren't for the addition of the Survival difficulty setting and the PS3 challenge rooms, I would not be playing the remaster.

How about a game that doesn't shit itself halfway through. Let's fact it, after you kill Andrew Ryan the game just pads itself until you reach the shitty Fontaine boss.

I fucking knew this would come.

Having that wasnt an improvement, it was the logical conclusion of fixing something that was fucked up in the first place.

Okay, name me 2 things, but if the next one is "hurrrrr big sisters so different from big daddys, complete gamechanger durrr" I know that Bioshock 2 fans are full of bait

>halfway through

You kill Ryan like 75% - 80% of the way through. Stop bullshitting.

This, after the "Would you kindly?" reveal the game got really lame.
Should have saved it for the end.

>it was the logical conclusion of fixing something that was fucked up in the first place.
Does that not make it better?
Does improving things not improve them?

There's three more areas after Hephaestus. It's more around 65%

True, but on the other hand, I dont even remember the story of Bioshock 2 besides
>Lamb is "le evil feminist"
>gotta save the girl
>you escape in awkward slowmo explosion

Don't bother, Bioshock 1 Remastered is awfully ported, crashes, texture popping, perfomance issues, controls issues, and if you custom settings, game overwrites them when it crashes. It's literally worse port than already bad original port.

Bioshock 2 Remastered on the other hand works great, only problem are some absymal textures here and there. There also seem to be more holotapes, because I stumbled on few I don't remember. Can change FOV and diable mouse acceleration in menu, not to mention 10 hours so far, and not a single crash. Could use more settings, but at least has basics covered.

I fucking loved Bioshock 2 but I didn't play the DLCs.

I hear Minerva's Den is amazing. Should I give it a go?

Worth playing

>Lamb is "le evil feminist"

Jesus Christ, you're dumb. She wasn't a feminist. Lamb was a collectivist. Bioshock 2's story was great when stacked up to 1's because 1's story was basically "Here's why Objectivism would probably fails." and 2's was "Here's why Collectivism would probably fail."

Looks like someone was a casual back when these games were released. I thought BS1 was a SS2 rip off from the start. I also thought BS2 was a much more worthy succesor to the Shock franchise than 2 right from the start. Only casual newfags who got into vidya in 2007 thought differently.

Bioshock still had a faceless white male protagonist. And if you were around during the time of LE BALD SPACE MARINE these fuckwits included characters like fucking Sam Fisher into this cliche they invented to complain about. It was just a precursor to the modern SJW having a sook about white males pretty much so they didn't say it back then. But basically, everything was just another bald space marine, wether he was actually bald or a space marine or not.

Also BS2 has the drill dash and your weapons are noticeably bigger, it does feel different enough to the original.

>without mentioning the biggest improvement

No. Also kek you even criticism 1 for not having it.

Dual weilding is the biggest one, but also upgradable tiers on each plasmid, making them all way better than in 1. The mixing of plasmids for trapping was also fantastic and lead to a wider variety of traps. Trapping was also useful now in 2 compared to 1. The level design was solid and consistent unlike 1. The story actually had a good emotional anchor and invested you into it instead of each character just being a mouthpeice for an ideology. Bioshock 2 featured real humans with flaws, it felt more sincere and legitimate than 1 which is ham fisted in many places. 1 is like fake dialog, video game or movie writing, not real characters, they are there for exposition or to make a "point" about something.

Cont.

People agree it's pretty good.
It's worth playing

Objectively correct

day before remastered came out i bought Bioshock 1 on G2A for like $4 and got remastered for free lmao

>what's this?

Augustus Sinclair sport.
>I do love Siren Alley. The kind of place you go to scratch an itch you're ashamed of -- even in a town with no laws. But that's not why I favor it. The place started out as the mason's quarter, all builder an' architects, proper as you please. An' it just tickles me when someone in a fancy hat falls in the mud. Like a lot of the ladies down here, Siren Alley was born with a more respectable name... but only God remembers what it was.
you read it in his voice

I never even finished Infinite it was so fucking boring.

>shit atmosphere
>plasmids and guns werent as cool
>lame ass MC (Delta and Jack had more personality somehow)
>Elizabeth was just Disney princess fapbait
>too many fights
>fights take forever
>exploration feels lame

Cmon, you know what I meant.. but no matter how retarded the design choice in the first was, its an improvement, yes.
Still need 2 more things.

cont.

They also added the Big Sisters which are honestly some of the best fights in the whole series, and getting a fellow big daddy to help you out against a Big Sister is just fucking god tier levels of fun. I love watching the AI aggro each other and watching, other daddies, splicers and big sisters duking it out against each other while I law traps fucking everywhere while protecting my own little sister.

Also the little sisters where QT as fuck, and getting to play as a little sister in some parts was great. All the backstory about high little sisters see big daddies, and how the daddies see the sisters is great too.

God now I want to go replay BS2 so badly. Such a good game.

How up your own ass are you.

>it's not an improvement if it's a logical conclusion

It's a straight up fucking improvement.

There is no Bioshock cycle and no one is ever going to consider Infinite good. It was pre release whiners having a complain that BS was getting a sequel because muh art game, they weren't even aware than BS1 was a sequel in the first place.

I was so happy that he didn't betray Delta. Sinclair was such a bro...

Because Bioshock "Remastered" only came out to scam suckers out of buying the game over again for their new consoles. The fact they didn't even bother fixing a single 9-year old bug in the ReMastered editions testifies to how it was a simple, soulless cash grab; compare Biocock Remastered to THQ Nordic who are fucking patching Titan Quest! A ten year old game, actually getting bug fixes and improvements! WHOOOA

...and those consoles aren't even very "new" considering they're both being replaced by Scorpio and Neo. Maybe it's also to gauge interest in making that rumored Bioshock 4 made under new management/developers.

>I had thought you some golem of Sinclair, brought here to hold Rapture's arms as he rifles through her pockets. But no... you are aware of your plight. Who I wonder would be so cruel To force a mirror on a man with no face...

1 came out in era of military shooters, had great setting and backstory, and quite few gameplay elements.

2 was made by different studio, that DIDN'T have new ideas, so they made most reasonable thing to do: more of same, with refined mechanics and more gameplay options

Infinite was caught in development hell for years, and then publisher forced deadline after which game would be scrapped, and studio disbanded. Studio gathered "what was ready" and hastly stitched it together.

>People in tapes paint sinclair to be a really shady guy
>Hell his whole idea on what to do with you is shady from the start
>Expected a betrayal at some point
>He was a total bro to the end.

The best twist is the one you were expecting to happen, didint happen at all.

What's the best way to fix the mouse for Bioshock Remastered on Steam?

2's multiplayer was so much better than it had any right to be.

My strategy was to run around the map as quickly as possible to collect the Adam Vials, then start killing.

use a controller

That's still not a remake you redundant fuck.

final battle in infinite was an insult. It was "hold off constantly respawning mooks, from object completely in open, for given amount of time".
And then you were given "it's magic, I ain't explaining shit" ending

>make a remaster of a game
>it still looks like shit
>it still plays like shit
Why bother?

Best part is there is so many moments where think it's going to happen, like the first time you meet him it looked so much like he just going to stab you in the back. Also all the audio diaries between Sinclair and his workers thinking they're the smart guys are fantastic.

>Now, I'm a modest man. But my piecemeal needle scam's an outright masterpiece: some slob shacked up here buys a box of syringe parts from me for twice what it's worth. He assembles 'em in his rathole, and I buy back the finished product... for a dime against the dollar that I'll get from Ryan. Profit comin', profit goin'. Ol' Andy rambles on about the Great Chain... I got people shellin' out to pull it for me!

>...and that's a hundred! What a snap! Give Sinclair a few bucks for a load of vials and needles, then it's evenings putting these syringes together while I listen to the radio... sell 'em back to Sinclair at twice the price! Whatta racket! A few pin-pricks here and there's nothin' to complain about. Gonna be back on top soon. Thank you, Mr. Sinclair... sucker...

> Delta and Jack had more personality as silent protagonists

Really tells you how much of a shitshow Infinite was. Fuck Levine.

Which game didn't involve him?

2?

>"hold off constantly respawning mooks, from object completely in open, for given amount of time"

Huh, sounds like the final battle of Bio2.

Where is that area from? I don't remember it on base game.

edit the ini
go read the community guides or pcgw article

That was fun because of the tools and options you were given, unlike in Inifinite

2 was free

Dude, its just some buzzword I used, my point was her past story didnt involve you at all besides the "rescue the kid" part, so I had no clue what she was fighting against while Bioshock 1's story was actually interacting with the player, having you at the right part to push it forward

Collectivsm may or not be a more complex theme than objectivism, but I sure wouldnt discuss that on Cred Forums

...

>name me 3 things Bioshock 2 improved over 1 besides the plasmid/weapon

Sure, let's ignore the biggest improvement BS2 had over the first, actual fun gameplay.
I'll bite tho,Hacking was significantly better.

Your moral choices were actually reflected in eleanor, which gave you a reason to think about what you'll do instead of just an arbitrary bad/good ending.

Big sister mini-boss fights (outside the first one obviously)

You could also include Minerva's Den which is one of the best DLCs right now.

I thinks it's the 3rd floor, around the place where you fill the toxin in a vent. And where Shodan as Dr whatsherface ask you why yo go so slowly

>bioshock 2
>elanor worshiped as a savior, you play her dad and save her

>infinite
>literally the same thing with portals

levine is a fucking hack

dunno, I enjoyed final battle in B2 a lot, but Infinite one was a chore.
In B2 all you had to worry about was to not die until timer runs out. That's as standard "hold them off" design as it gets.

In Infinite you have to babysit reactor, because all mooks run toward it. They always spawn at same spots, and go same routes. Battle takes place in large open area, and I remeber it being mind numbingly long, but that might be just combat being boring.

youtube.com/watch?v=FdaumVMHatc

youtube.com/watch?v=4BMmUEaAKSI

this but burial at sea should have the guy with the stars as well

>realtime hacking
>more complex levels, with more shortcuts/wayarounds and hidden goodies
>far more freedom with using tonics, as well as their greater variety, allowing (and encouraging) specialised builds
>dialogues / audiologs that are still fun to listen when replaying the game
that's actually 4, but whatever

Fucking stupid. It's a digital bundle so why I can't I buy only the parts that I want.

Oh right, if they separated it literally no one would buy Infinite. kek

>No. Also kek you even criticism 1 for not having it.
>How up your own ass are you, It's a straight up fucking improvement

Damn kid, how buttfrusted are you ?
Having one weapon in Bioshock 1 at a time was a design choice and everyone shit on it so they changed it
And thanks for proving that your next arguement would be Big Sister, you even quote my comment but didnt acknowledge it ? Nice reading comprehension.
I wont even go into further discussion with you, since Big Daddy fought aggro mob in the first one aswell and so on, you seem to stubborn for the most basic conversation

IT CLEARLY SAYS: ''WHAT IS THIS?''

LEARN TO FUCKING READ

Is the remaster any better than the original?
I got it for free because I already own the first BS, and I've been itching to play it again.

It's worse. DUH

1 not so much.
2's textures are WAY better.

I played for about an hour and I didn't notice any difference except the new options menu is shit

Bioshock 1 port is all around worse than original port
Bioshock 2 port is more stable than original port

>OP doesn't want to play the best Bioshock game

Absolutely disgusting

for some fucking reason my game crashes every time i try and pick up the cross bow from. Anyone got any ideas?

>Infinite looks good, but I don't want 2
what a bait
