SPD- if your SPD is high enough, you'll be able to double-attack enemies, also affects your chance to avoid enemy attacks.
LUK-affects accuracy and avoidability, and reduces enemy crit chance.
DEF-affects defense against physical attacks
RES-affects defense against magical attacks
CON- unit's weight. this affects who they can rescue or be rescued by, and if your CON is too low, you will suffer SPD penalties while using heavier weapons.

Turtling in FE is clustering your units into one big group and slowly pulling one enemy out at a time. FE6 punishes turtling by having anti turtling reinforcements but since they operate on same turn, people hate them.

It's amazing how fast went down in sales. AW1 is what renewed turn based anything in America (Xcom creator even says that it revived the whole genre after RTS killed it). AW2 sold alright but not as good and then AW3 was struggling to even break into 10k units.

AW1 came out November of 2004, and only as a bundle with AW2. Dual Strike a few months after in June 2005, and that was on a new system. 9/11 just absolutely fucked the series in Japan.
