I was certain with karkand that bf2142 was next, fucking CERTAIN, I hate that the fact I bought bf3 and it's dlc probably hurt my chances at ever getting 2142, bf3's popularity is a curse on the franchise.

I don't think you ever played 2142, it felt like a more authentic modern shooter than anything after it because despite being sci-fi it was grounded in reality and logical progression
