I've known people who work 80 hours a week. I've known people who did 16 hours a day at two full time jobs. I've known others that do 4 10-hour workdays M-Th and 3 12-hour workdays on the weekend shift (they work 76 but most weekend shifts pay you 40).

70 doesn't sound absurd to me. More than I work though, I usually cap out at 60, though I stick to overtime so everything over 40 is time and a half.

Adding to this, but look for security companies that do work with the local city/county programs. They usually pay better for those sites, and if you're lucky you can land an in-office gig so you're not stuck sitting in a parking lot shack for 10 hours a day.
I work security for a County DV program, and it's the best job I've ever had. Pay is good, the staff respect me and I'm not just sitting around waiving people through doors.

As someone who works in customer service, I can say from experience that won't happen as long as there are geezers that insist on speaking to an "actual person".

I'm glad to get out of the house and to be going to a place every day. My hours are basically the same as school + 3 extra hours. The thing that pains me is that I'm doing a lot of extra projects such as making a commercial game that I can never simply escape work by going home. Fire at will states don't have to give any reason to fire you, and if they do give a reason, they can legally change the reason at any time, even after firing you for their own purposes.

In my case, their purposes were to try and block me from getting unemployment. The loophole rule was the fact that I closed the store for 5 minutes to use the restroom, which I did, yet they claimed I cannot do that.

I showed a judge our handbook where it said we could, and then the company turned around and gave the excuse that I "Missed my timepunch" as for the reason I was fired.

Judge talked to me in private saying that it was better to drop the case because they could just keep changing the reason for each case.

I was awarded 1/8th of my previous unemployment claim. (Around $86 a week)

I kept getting sick and I was really exhausted so I had to call in sick a lot and I got automatically fired because of it even though I was working more than I was supposed to (I was part time 20 hours and they were working me 72 hours in a row and not paying me overtime). I told my HR manager when I was fired and she had no idea any of this was even going on and was pretty pissed about it but there was nothing she could do.

I easily spend more time on Cred Forums than I do actually playing video games. Certain events in my life kind of fucked with my desire to play anymore and I've almost all but given it up completely. Three years my family's house burned down and with it went all my games I had physical copies of. After that I did re-buy things with insurance money a small portion of the stuff I had but it just wasn't the same. The loss of my pokemon data hit me especially hard and this may have been before pokebank.

I've always worked my ass but i've found little to none satisfaction in all the jobs I've ever had because most of my money went to pay some of my parents many debts. Vidya is the only thing that ever granted me satisfaction.

I started working when i was around 16-17 years old while studying to go to college. I woke up early every day and went to bad late every night because of studies and shit. I've always saved what i could so i would invest in the future when the time was right. For years the only thing i've ever spent money was vidya and a few other stuff that used to do during my days off, shit like going to the movies or hanging out

Some ears later i started working on 2 jobs, one during the weekdays and on during the weekends while also on college. Shit was tiresome but all the money i was getting was worth it, i had plenty of money even though a lot of it was going to my parents to help at home.

After 2 years my parents come to me saying all the huge ass debts they've made in the past few years trying to start some other business but being absolutely naive about a lot of stuff. All the money i had saved during all those years went to shit in a day trying to pay part of all that fucking debt that they are still paying to this day. Even on my current job i have to help pay all this fucking debt, i have literally nothing in my banking account right now.

This kinda of shit takes all the will i have to go work since most of my earnings will be for nothing, all my plans were ruined and now i have nothing that i want to do besides playing vidya since it is the only satisfaction i got in my life.

I worked in a hospital kitchen part time, I asked for specific times when signing my contract, they instantly went back on it because of renovations. yet when those ended they gave me the hours I said i can't do because of college. they were also going above my 20 hours to about 35 a week, meanwhile the two fulltimers i worked with were getting less hours than me. When i complained they cut my hours to 16 and also changed my contract to a 16 hour employee without telling me.
The reason that pissed me off was because 20 hours and up employees get benefits like vacation time and insurance. I fucking quit on the spot the moment I realized the shit they pulled on me.
I don't mind working extra, but I had other responsibilities that they knew of and i said took priority and i was pissed that they would write down my school schedule and what ever else i did weekly to work around that and they would then ignore it.

Took up a job at a store as a stocker/cashier. Manager and District Manager was corrupt as shit, and a lot of verbal abuse was had. All of the workers and I were so disgruntled, all of us quit- some where into the job 2-3 years.

I'll never forget how worthless I felt doing it among those people- but I'll also never forget that work can be fulfilling among customers and working with a great team aside from higher ups.

A worker has a greater capacity to effectively do their job if they have the capacity to cooperate with and contribute to a team. Job interviews are mostly to gauge whether an applicant would fit in with the existing company culture, and to allow for Q&A between both parties.

Retail is unskilled labor, with a wealth of applicants; if the manager finds someone who'll jive more with the existing team than you, guess who gets the job.
