how are you so sure? Has treasure even made any games in the last 10 years?

Maybe it's better this way. They'd probably ruin it anyway

LETS BREAK IT DOWN

I don't trust this generation enough to be complaining about the lack of a sequel of mischief makers.
Maybe in 3 more years i'll think about it but not now.

It's about as likely to get a sequel as Guardian Heroes. Or Astro Boy Omega Force.

Only thing they've done since the Sin & Punishment sequel is a couple of Japan-only 3DS games.

THE FIRE OF JUSTICE IS SERVED

Did someone say SHAKE SHAKE!

I'm curious to know what it might feel like.

It's there an emulator that will run it properly yet?

it would feel like tender love and care, the kind only best robo could achieve

Just get a flash cart. N64 emulation will always be shit.

What happened to her legs?

She's a robot maid.

Can you play this on Wii/Wii U by injecting a 64 rom into virtual console? I miss it and don't have a 64 anymore

...

This.

Even if someone were to take over the project I feel that the art style would be tampered with... Whenever most devs do a HD 2D side scroller the characters just look... Like streching jpegs. Like, compare rayman origins to the orginal rayman... Something about the modern take on animation feels off? Am i wrong?

There's been one for years.

almost every emulator can't handle math fun and the rolling rock on 4-1, the ones that do handle them have other various visual or audio glitches. additionally, the stages with extra wide resolutions or different framerates in world 2 emulate very poorly. its playable and perfectly beatable if you don't suck a million asses, but emulation wont be perfect for a while yet.

That game wasnt even that great, I thaught it was pretty weird

Through fire justice is served

That's because Origins and Legends mixed animated sprites with stretching/squashing while the original Rayman was entirely animated sprites.

No, you're making sense. The animation you're speaking of might be similar to this

youtube.com/watch?v=We6TsnHuTQM

Is it laziness? It makes it look like you are watching a poorley animated cartoon made with flash or some shit.

Pixel sprites 4 lyfe senpai.

haha dream on grandpa. No one cares!
Oh god I loved this game, best music ever

Smash 5, here we come!
;_;

Yeah this! Im sure many think its very good, but compared to watching sprites in stuff like SF3 it looks... Bad, or just off to me.

The point of the UbiArt engine was to make it easier for smaller teams to put together games without animation eating up all their time.
Rayman 1 needed 10 people working on the animation. Origins had 4.

The dream died the day those last 3 characters were revealed

you will never grow anime eyes after gushing about mischief makers in a taxi

I'd rather have Dynamite Headdy 2 tbqh

Or Gunstar Heroes 2 if im gonna be qh m8

That's a good thing user. Have you seen the rebboots of late?

doesn't gunstar have 3 games already?
and it's available on steam?

A hero in shining armor is called

not true sequels, and they were gba games iirc

Shirow Marina lewds when?

The game is almost 20 years old and no publisher would touch this game

Yeah, because they all have shit taste.

You just need three hands.

I wonder why MM especially has gathered such a cult following, back when a friend had it when i was 8, no one else seemed to have it, and mostly no one i have met in real life even k iws it exists. Even rviews from that time slate it for its poor production quality (usually the sound quality) and being too easy.
I was so happy to find it in a store again in 2004 for like £4. Still got it to this day :3

The N64 had a serious dearth of 2D platformers. MM stood out

Yeah maybe this, you think if there had been a ps1 release we would even still mention it? Its pixel art is similar to Klanoa gor sure.

CUTE

This kind of "animation" bugs me to no end.
Even if the stuff is detailed, it moves like it was animated in flash.
Maybe it's some thing that newer people to platformers and 2D games in general don't have a problem with, but as someone that's been playing video games since the NES and genesis in their hayday the difference in quality of sprite animation between then and now is day and night.

The thing is, the people making this stuff are surley about from the same generation as well. Why do they think this looks good? They may as well be still images manipulated with movement in a gif...
We will never get high quality pixel art again will we?

...

I don't think that will be a problem, considering that Mischief Maker was made using 3D models, that were rendered into 2D sprites. In all ideals, the new game would simply be fully 3D.

Neat gif, but the pause and thumbnail was hurting my autism.
