Overwatch is a cyberpunk setting, Paladins is fantasy,. That makes Overwatch better by default.

Blizzard spent ten billion dollars on developing their characters, especially their waifus, specifically in order to appeal to neckbeards on the internet and make them want to play the game.

Blizzard's waifus are the result of years of refining, development, and focus testing.

Paladins' waifus are the result of an intern who was on break at the time and had nothing better to do.

See the thing is, these games rely on people perpetually spending money, and people don't really have a need or a desire to spend money constantly on one game.

Secondly, if the game fails, it shuts down, and you don't get any of your money back. More and more f2p games are dying off because not enough people are playing and spending.

And because of that, more and more people people don't spend money because they are worried the game will die and they will have wasted their money.

It's a domino effect, f2p will die save for a few that succeeded early.

I put money down for Age of Empires online, Nosgoth and Infinite Crisis. And they all died. Loadout also got some cash from me, and I think that will die as well.

That's not true at all, though. Look at the big two in mobas, LoL and Dota 2. Both are free games (Dota 2 more than LoL, but at their core, both can be obtained and played without paying a single cent) and their tournaments and further development is funded almost solely by optional purchases made by their players.

Actually, in the case of Tribes, all the changes that took place after launch were intended to attract more people to play the game. It had a pathetically small community right from the get go, and none of those playing supported the game with real money purchases.

You've got characters that look like medievial knights running around fighting space pirates and shit with laser guns, people with mage powers using mechanical shit, wtf is going on with this fucked aesthetic?

It has a lot of problems, from the hitboxes, to some characters that are an ass to fight agains't but fun to exploit against people.
The assasin girl is really broken for example, more if you get the less cooldown for skills powerup (not ultimates) because it lets you stay invisible pretty much always on second level.
The girl with the bow deals a lot of damage for the little effort you have to do to actually aim that shit (i remember how hard is to aim the bow as the sniper in TF unless you actually learned how to do so).
The dragon with the rocket launcher deals damage on hit instead of having an explosive radius so unless you actually hit the person with the missile (good luck if you have lag) you are fucked, the missiles have a radius but it only affects you, so yeah if you are close to a rocket which exploded you get the damage but not the enemy.
His magma spit is a shit skill overall, useless unless you have good cards for it i guess.
Characters with shield are fucking impossible to bring down and they get them every few seconds, so you have to flank them to kill them (which im glad im intelligent enough to do so but not my teammates).
Now the playerbase, they are retards, when it's overtime they never push because they don't want to die even if it means giving a chance to actually win the match (multiple times snipers just hide from the enemy and kept shooting from far instead of reseting the counter while the team was respawning).
Others didn't gave two shits about pushing the cart because they preffer to keep shooting people (had to carry multiple matches because of this).
Then the worst offender some faggots think only one character is designated to push the cart.

What else would you have them do? They did go the route of unlocking classes and weapons with in-game currency or real money, but that is what killed the game for good.

You can only blame yourself (and everyone else who played the game at launch) for what happened to it.

If you pay attention, you'll notice that everything in Paladins is powered by some sort of crystals. The only one with no apparent crystal is Bomb King, though he might BE a big one himself.

With the default cards the speed of the spit is pretty slow and anyone with brain can evade that shit, thats why you need the speed card for it.

The 5% damage item is a scrub detector. You can tell how much of your team is shit by seeing if they pick it as their first item.

Valid, I kinda hate how burn cards are locked in once you buy them. Turn off auto buy though. Most of the time you'll buy the same Green and Yellow depending on who you're playing as, and then pick a blue/red to counter anything the other side's doing.

Pretty valid, though there's only a handful of cards with CD's at that, almost all of them now are passive since the rework, but this does need something to tell you when the cards back up.

Gotta appreciate the amount of detail the devs put in to copy Overwatch, it even has the same garbage hitboxes.

Played 50 hours overwatch, 3 hours into paladins
They have pretty bad players playing bad (graphically designed) heroes basically copied from overwatch. Also even the login or the menus are practically the same.
The graphic details in overwatch are uncomparable and my 960 4gb can't run that in 4k (just 1080 at ultra). Paladins can be runned with a toaster at ultra.
Also paladins seems more like a moba, you cant change heroes mid match and you have to get some pasive cards to upgrade some shit like 'lifesteal+10%' or 'get +5% damage' and upgrade them with some points you get in the match.
The game mode is very weird: you have to get 4 objective points; you get one when capturing the point in the middle of the map and an other when you carry the payload to theyr place near spawn. You have to repeat the process to get the 4 points.
There is a weird af feature thats the horse. When you spawn you get a horse to get to battle faster. You dont have to unmount but you cant shoot when in horsemode (its infinite until you unmount but you get damaged). Its a gamebreaking feature because its infinitely rare to get the payload to the point because you die and you get there in less than 10 seconds.
+You have to unlock heroes with gold you get when winning (and loosing? idk)
Its a really fuckedup game mode
+Some other shit that makes no sense at all that i still have to discover

My point is despite having magic, the various races can destroy daemons using technology. Once you reach a high enough level of tech, it seems like magic anyway, except you don't need to do dumbass rituals to use it.
