I gave it more of a chance than IMC did.

Couldn't stomach it after 26 hours.

...

Don't say people never gave ToS a chance.
Everyone wanted it to be good and the successor to RO.

It's extremely buggy, poorly balanced and so unoptimized that it requires a goddamn monster of a machine to run well.

Blame IMC, nexon or the devs, but don't blame it on the players.

Gave it a chance during obt, the endgame is useless when you can't even use your new found shit to accelerate the growth of your new characters

I actually played this shit.

Cred Forums is right to not give it a chance though, because it's total garbage.

AHAHHAHAHAHAHA NIGGER!!!

why is she watering a hamster?

It's to make it grow.

>f2p
I thought it was $40-50 but no subscription?

Is it good, should I play it? How jew is it? How corean grind is it?

Gave it a chance on the beta, shit was broken. Did it get better?

I still love the art in the game, maybe I should give it another chance. Is that archer class that set up traps good for something now?

shoo shoo /vg/
your game is shit and dead for a reason

It's free.

It's considered grindy for modern standards, but much less so than RO, almost like a casualized RO

You had to pay back when the game was in close beta test. People did it mostly to secure their ign.
Yeah, it is good, but it's mismanaged pretty badly and bugged. There are a lot of quests to keep you occupied, but I imagine it's similar to RO when it comes to grind.

You're better off asking /tosg/. Don't want to misinform.

>MMO with no MMO activity whatsoever
>trading is limited
>dungeon runs are limited
>"early access"
>selling a monthly fee that doesn't remove all limitations
>plus literal p2w cash shop
>infinite upgrading mechanics
>balance changes fuck your build up completely, but hey, with a cash shop item you can conveniently just reset instead of having to grind for 600 hours all over again! it's convenient, right? what luck!
>the lack of everything that made RO great (difficulty, no LFG interface, reliance on player communication, no instancing, freedom in obtaining gear and money) is slapped into this in a typical WoW clone fashion
You're right I'm not giving this a chance.
>you can client-side hack character statistics, in 2016; it's actually easier to hack than RO, a game compiled by a single guy who just got out of school

Remove cash shop stats entirely.
Implement territory control/siege modes, make them prominent and guild-wide, so it's an MMO.
Remove any trading/dungeon limitation.
Augment the crafter classes.
Up the difficulty tenfolds, and add mechanics that make you contest the content in some way.

And then I might start considering it. Since this won't happen, there's no need to worry.

I gave it a chance. 23hours of lag fun with the game getting increasingly grindy as time went on and a good chunk of classes just outright bad.
Maybe I would've had a better experience if I didn't become a Hunter, but there's a tremendous amount of flaws that the development team cannot give a fuck about.

They also jew the international playerbase harder than korean in every possible way even though international made back a substantial amount of money on good faith alone.

>>plus literal p2w cash shop

Isn't it all cosmetics? I don't remember seeing anything that would give someone advantage over your typical player.

You need to buy some overpriced jew tokens which cost double they do in the asian release on international to make trade restrictions slightly less heavy and get bonus experience, there's also exp ups you can purchase too.

Stat upgrading is not a cosmetic.

it was ass

You mean stat reset?

To this day I still think EQ and FFXI had the best way of handling the solo vs party stuff.

RO had a pretty decent balance of solo and party play, but it had balancing issues because of it. The classes that were generally better at soloing were also the most desired in parties just because of how strong they were. Hunters and Wizards come to mind especially.

It's better to do what EQ and FFXI did and just have 2 or 3 classes that are completely designed around solo play that don't offer much to a party. Then you can balance everything else around party play.

It's better to not allow people to solo at all
you get rid of most bots and your playerbase will problably be less turds considering they'll be forced to play together so being a huge prick/annoying twat means you're going to get into less parties.

FFXI at least forced you to party to mid-level until you could unlock the classes that are able to solo.

Removing solo play all together will put off too many people.

>Removing solo play all together will put off too many people.
who gives a shit at this point

Honestly, I'm thinking of coming back to this game.

Frankly, I like it. But it has a lot of a problems that boil down to:
>disgustingly unoptimized
It just runs like ass unless you have a top tier PC. It runs so badly I had to quit. But I may a new PC and come back.

>have 2 or 3 classes that are completely designed around solo play that don't offer much to a party. Then you can balance everything else around party play.

This seems kinda nice in theory but I can see it ending up as a huge shitfest of a lot of people picking what seem like "beginner friendly" classes thinking that they're just good at plowing through the leveling treadmill and getting pissed at the game when they hit the level cap and realize that they are literally worthless for any end-game group content.

If you wan to make an MMO that can support solo and multi oriented players, it has to be designed like this (which RO kind of already did):

All classes should be able to solo grind to max. However, each class should only be able to solo in certain areas based on their ability set. For an RO example, a priest can solo at GH but can't solo at Magma dungeon.

So in order to grind in these other areas, players will need to party. However, doing so is not necessary in order to reach max level. What it will do, however, is restrict your access to drops within an area that you can personally solo. To circumvent this, you either party or buy the drop from another player.

tl;dr
- Classes are restricted to certain areas due to their ability set, but can still solo to max level
- Partying allows you to go to areas you would not be able to solo
- If you want drops from a place you cannot solo, either join a party or buy from the market

it runs like ass no matter what
you don't render things until the server gives you an OK signal

I gave. Played it for 3 hours and was already bored (high ping didn't helped at all)

and just like ragnarok, everyone will make 20 bots that all solo different areas for phat loots

>hurr cheaters will cheat tho user duh
Thanks for the input, bro.

The solo classes wouldn't really be candidates for the party-based endgame content.

Ideally they would still have gear to work towards that would be obtainable outside of the usual raid/dungeon type endgame.

>The solo classes wouldn't really be candidates for the party-based endgame content.

Did you even read his post? That's the entire problem.

You must be retarded to think this wasn't given every possible chance to succeed in Cred Forums's eyes.
Even the threads shilling it were well-received before the second closed beta started.

The fucking warriors being the only class to need those stupid stamina pills just so they could WALK killed the game for me.

Solo players probably make up the majority of subs. I'd rather have money than please a small demographic personally.

I wish it was like RO. You could choose where and what to grind on depending on your character class. I don't understand why they remade RO only to do a WoW quest progression except it's the SAME every fucking time you want to try a different character.

I'm not against change though, but something like keeping the old RO formula of just going where you want to go and maybe having some dynamic quest system to update it a little more to the masses.

That's only the grinding, everything else was also a huge stepback. I don't understand why the ex-gravity staff even bothered.

That was the only good thing about the game.

I wanted to enjoy ToS, but the whole poor optimization thing is a killer, and at some point the roller coaster ride of leading your ass with quests hits a wall where you are forced to grind against stuff that isn't anywhere near efficient to try and level up just to be able to deal with shit in the next quest location. RO at least let you explore shit at your pace and just figure out whatever the fuck you wanted to do or where to go, this clearly keeps pushing you to places it wants you to go, but not having the means of dealing with anything once you get there so you gotta backtrack and there's no proper quests to level with anymore as so much EXP is coming from the quest line.

>ToS
What does "ToS" stand for?

So, how's this game changed over the past months? Any improvements?

I played it for about a week then dropped it out of boredom. And it's a wonder I even made it that long.

Tree of Porn when?

...

But we did, for days and we just couldnt even with denial.

tree of savior

>never gave a chance.
The game killed itself with bullshit restrictions.

>Any improvements?
So I guess since no one is replying they didn't try to fix anything?

I distinctly remember seeing people shit on this game because the artstyle is vaguely similar to Adventure Time.

Most of Cred Forums cant play this game because they are white males.

RO got a bunch of instanced content later in development. Pre-renewal, even.

I gave it a chance, ToS is korean trash

>Playing 1000 hours of this shit
Fucking how?

Is there a single decent RO private sever these days?

Most of Cred Forums can't play Battleborn because there's no one to play it with.

epicRO
It's German speakers only though

But I did. There still isn't an MMO better than Tera.

>mfw favourite time playing MMOs was doing dungeons in FF14 with my guild, and helping people in my guild go through earlier dungeons
>almost entirely play MMOs solo otherwise
I love playing with groups, but for some reason I just... don't. I'm cockblocked in WoW due to my not even doing LFG for dungeons because of some weird anxiety I have that I'll fuck shit up. Or just that I don't know how long it will take (I work 10 hour days) so I just don't do group stuff.

Not like I can't do well, I know how to play my character, but I don't do dungeons/raids so I never have good gear, so I don't group, so... it spirals. Performance anxiety sucks.

2nd beta onwards.

I actually played it a lot, that final boss kicked my ass several times.

It was fun.

why is YHVH Universe so fucking huge I've been trying to find a guy for like 4 hours and it doesnt feel like I'm even close.

treeofsavior.com/news/?n=649

Game is 7% better now.

I gave Tree of Savior like 3 chances.

The first time i played solo, got to level 40 and quit.

The second time I played with a friend, got to level 40, and quit.

The third time I played with a different friend, and the game kept shitting itself every single fucking time a scripted battle sequence started, and would lock one of us in place for the entire fight, forcing them to go back to the login screen to get control of their character back, and 90% of the time not get credit for the kill, making them have to do it again on their own. This had a 100% replication rate in every single scripted fight until we just said fuck it and stopped.

It doesn't deserve a chance. Its a piece of shit.
